They really dropped the ball not embracing the sped up version. It should of been on streaming platforms under her name

Not trying to argue with y'all about her biggest hit, but I wanted to share something related to that. Am I the only one who feels like hits today have such a short shelf life? Songs blow up, hit #1 for weeks or even months, and then just vanish.

 

That's why I think comparing Gaga's hits is nearly impossible, imo

 

Even Shallow, which was MASSIVE, or DWAS probably won't have the staying power of something like Poker Face. That song turns 17 this year and is still pulling in 1 million+ streams a day.

Sjdjdjdjdjdjd I LOVE your positivity! That's definitely thriller and toxic though, but its streams this Halloween were extremely positive signs and I think her appearence in Wednesday 2/ Wednesday 2 in general this year will further its classic ness and cement it as a Halloween classic for eternity

Yah they didn't capitalize on it nearly enough, it's a shame cause chart wise it could've made a much bigger dent.

 

although, it did quite well on radio. Lowkey better than all the chromatica and Joanne singles longevity wise. They took so long to embrace it though, it smashed on radio right as the trend was dying out

but nothing will ever take away how big it was culturally, it's almost synonymous with the biggest show of 2022 (and one of the biggest ever) with a lot of people, plus, her being in Wednesday 2 will cement it even further I think.

or maybe we limit outselves way too much because of her peers have very limited classics or no classics at all. 

for example see beyonce, she have no classics to match gaga's ones in world wide metrics, taylor swift too and katy perry too. 

 

Only rihanna is on par with gaga when it comes to classics. 

in facts from paparazzi to telephone to born this way to always remember us this way are all big classics tbh.

But yeah, i'm also very surprised and happy gp really accepted it as halloween classic very quickly and it replaced disturbia and toxic as it pulled a lot bigger numbers than those this year compared to last year.

I think it will get even bigger each year and start to chart regularly like the other halloween classics.

Bloody Mary and ARUTW are potential solo number ones that got away. They should have quickly got Jenna Ortgega to star with Gaga in a high budget music video of the sped up version with an official single release

GaGa's team does not have the RANGE to work on their feet and organize / last minute go through a organic trend. Sis they plan eras out YEARS ahead and STILL manage to fumble nearly EVERY SINGLE STEP in their preplanned plans. It's a complete sheisse show at the Haus of GaGa

I'm still so confused on ARUTW. I would've never; EVER thought it would be out streaming shallow 5 years later. I still don't really understand how it happened on a technical level, like, is it just getting suggested to so many users and they like it so they stuck with it? Did enough people watch the movie and naturally discover it? Has the GP just slowly discovered it on their own without the movie ?

A random thought/question I've always had is Diamond Heart supposed to be a reference to her engagement ring from Taylor Kinney? I know the song isn't about their relationship, but it always struck me as odd, to name a song that but have the song be about her upbringing in the music industry. It just seems like the 2 things (Engagement ring + go go dancing) don't fit together, but I don't think she has said much about the song ever.

 

My other fav "easter egg" if you will is that she also says Rain On Me (and predicted it's first 3 weeks' positions at #1, #5, and #10!!) in Diamond Heart too

I was just thinking about this. Literally every single one of her album rollouts is a mess. They always have year long plans ready, then they throw away the plan for a last second plan. The last second plan fails and then they abandon the era
