honestly speaking, I do not know and I can only speculate. firstly, things are ready, meaning the design and the other things are finalised, along with other details. perhaps these are "strategic" decisions, or they are simply waiting for the actual start of summer to kick off marketing plans and ensure the song reaches a wide audience. at the same time, I do not think their plans are being overshadowed by other artists releasing tracks with substantial numbers; instead, in typical Capitol style (I believe), they are just waiting for the launch window they had planned or (re)scheduled. again, these are just my hypotheses.

Why not? She can literally come on any Friday, it's supposed to be a surprise when she announces it.

I feel like her post today, even though a slick promo of that drink, is also a tease for what's about to come. Maybe she's announcing tomorrow or Wednesday

I'm just done of waiting for the announcement, at this point I don't care… when it comes it comes, that's it.

Anyway let's talk about "Smile", or what my ideal KP5 would've been. I know it's lunatic to think about these things now but there's been so much wasted opportunities in her career post TD. 
 

The Smile album concept shouldnt have seen the light of day, the song itself either. 
 

She should've released a different KP5 back in 2019 instead of waiting until late 2020. She had already released NRO and HIH which yeah were not instant smash hits per say but brought back some sort of small interest in her and remained stable after the disaster that was the Witness era. She released NRO back in May or June 2019 and she should've started an album rollout then, just not as Smile. NRO in the summer , scrap Small Talk which also was horrendous, and then HIH as an August release right around VMAs, book a VMA performance spot and announce the album there for a fall maybe September or October 2019 release.

Those 6 would've been fine to stay in this album and im sure there's some great unreleased tracks from these years that are way better than the other half of Smile we got.
