She also sounds a little paranoid when she goes in on how it was done as a dig at her...

Yup. I feel like she attempts to tug at Bey even more than who her actual beef is with (Pharrell and Chad). She almost only mentions them at the tail end. Odd.

There’s always some negativity surrounding every Bey release.

It wouldn’t feel right if there wasn’t!

She’s a thief, she’s part of the illuminati, she has no soul!

It’s all misogyny and racism wrapped into one. It comes with the territory when you’re arguably the biggest and most successful black female artist to have ever graced the planet :cm:  it doesn’t help that she’s beautiful, is never directly involved in controversy, has been with the same man her entire career, and doesn’t have a reputation for being a diva. People figure that it must be too good to be true and come to the conclusion that she’s a devil worshipper and thief to make themselves feel better about their own insecurities and flaws.

it's the jealousy.

So at what point do we as Bey stans collectively announce that this is her magnum opus?

Because it really is.

After the album is officially released.:giraffe:

Bey would only have meant it as a compliment to Kelis. It’s so sad that she’s taken it that way she has.

Especially since Pharrell was not directly involved in the album. It's not like he and Bey got together to go against Kelis.

Anyway, Kelis is trending #4 on Twitter so buckle up. :giraffe:

Bey will end up removing it like Rihanna removed the Enya sample in Fading. :gaycat6:

Anyway, 1 hour to go in the UK. :duca:

(“Formation,” which debuted at No. 10 that February, was the highest-charting song from the set on the Hot 100.)

That's a slippery slope because Lemonade and Renaissance are both so built on samples if other people start asking half the albums will be gone :rip:

Sounds like its Pharell's fault anyway :toofunny3:

The fact a simple phone call would've prevented all this :rip:

But her point is stupid anyway. Credited sampling is thievery now?

Posted

All it does is bring more attention to the album release :ahh:

Ugh. For those who’ve heard the song - is it a heavy sample?

Officially out for me. Ready to be scalped to death and brought back to life again.:jonny5:

and i'm sorry, but you can't tell me this isn't a little bit jealousy. what pharrell did to her was wrong, but she's only ever went off this hard because she knows bey's album is going to be a moment.

i think a lot of this is grief induced rage.

The era already has a controversy :ahh:

Reminds me of how #boycottbeyonce was trending and Republicans were calling for her to be cancelled after her SB performance. :rip:

At least we know it'll be an ERA :clap3:

Exactly what I was thinking sis. She’s had years to be mad at the situation regarding her masters, but it’s only now that she’s got a problem. :deadbanana2: Oh, but “it’s not about Beyoncé” like she said. :skull:

Kelis promoting the album :clap3:

This is all over the news. Every outlet has already picked it up.
iirc this isn’t the first time she has dragged Bey. She is definitely jealous of her.

and imagine being in the music industry for 30 years and not knowing what samples are. Her songs have been sampled before

I'm not sure, TBH.

Kelis has a toxic history with Pharrell. So, Bey calling up to discuss a track that sits within that toxic history was never going to end well.

"Hey, just wanted to discuss sampling a track you worked with your fave Pharrell."

I also don't believe her for a single second that Kelis would have had no problem had Bey called and still decided to go ahead.

The only thing is whatever sample it is (if there is one at all!) is so minuscule none of us can even tell what it is. Makes me think Bey shouldn't even have bothered.

She's fully aware what samples are but she's also fully aware of what accusing Bey of theft will rile up.

My favorite takes so far are how the songs are too long. *****, they're not even long :deadbanana4:

Oh **** what is this

Quote

According to a press release, Beyoncé "decided to lead without visuals giving fans the opportunity to be limitless in their expansive listening journey. It is a chance again to be listeners and not viewers, while taking in every gem of the pristine production."

"The release of 'Renaissance' sans visuals is another culture-shifting move from the artist who has defined an era with reinvention."

What press release is this
