I picture it to be golden. The 70s aesthetic feels very golden/yellow in general.

What if Act 3 is the best act from all acts?

P5f09q3.png

She makes her best music during backlash so it wouldn't be surprising. I wonder how much the current random Beyonce  hate will influence or change the album. I thought alot this weekend about why people easily believe Beyonce would murder Aaliyah or hurt someone. She doesn't bother anybody and I finally came to the conclusion that it is because the public sees Beyonce as a queen.

She also fashions herself as a queen or at least above mortals /the general public so people can see Jay Z and Beyonce as political powerful figures who can explode a plane. It's insane but the general public has obviously lost touch with who Beyonce is and Gen Z doesn't know her at all. They know her as a queen not a regular human like them and just a mom of three working and trying to make her marriage and family work.

She gives off quiet queendom and regal energy and the people can't relate to that or can easily paint her as sinister or a villain who chops anyone off that doesn't bow down or kiss the ring. That's what they think. They've painted her into a domineering villain

I could not think of anything more BORING! Which is why she'd probably do it lol.

I'm all for Bey driving home her qualitative edge and selling the ALBUM, but - even as someone who "gets" the leftness of a lot her admittedly annoying moves - I long for her to just sometimes operate like the Pop star she is.

I'm down for American Requiem if it's swiftly followed by Texas, Bodyguard, Jolene, Tyrant, or a Riiverdance...the actual commercial/GP moments on the album. And even then, she'd be smart to switch out AR for II Most Wanted and giving the GP/Beckies a moment in that regard. It's not every day, edgy/fine wine chanteuse. Sometimes, Pop off in your Pop bag, sis.

Beyonce hasn't wanted to be a pop star since IASF, her whole identity is about the talent and ability more so than the charts or campaigning for an award.

There would be nothing about that medley that would be boring knowing Beyonce. 'YA YA' ticks off a lot more boxes than any other song on that album and is the one song the GP and fans are aligned on. Keep in mind, Beyonce still has a knee injury so she is not performing at her max which gives her more time to focus on singing.

what if this is a reverse version of the horse we will get on the back of the vinyls when act iii is released. The first 2 are kinda similar

Is she performing at the Grammys? I miss those performances. I feel like she hasn't had a major award show performance in a while

I don't think Beyoncé is performing at the Grammys until she wins AOTY :noparty:

I hear you, but I guess this is where my fandom differs.

I get and have digested that she's purposefully driven away from the conventional Pop star antics and theatrics.

But it's not lost on me that sis ALWAYS makes a point to still tick-box the clear Pop/GP leaning tracks on her projects. Indeed, there hasn't been an album since she started skewing edgy that doesn't have the "obvious" radio single/s...which always ends up getting pushed and given the most spotlight live. Case in point:

* Beyonce - Drunk in Love / Flawless / XO

* Lemonade - Formation / Hold Up / Daddy Lessons

* Rennie - BMS / Cuff It / Alien

It kinda is what it is. So, given how little she performs on TV, I want to see her give us cemented showings of songs that resonate most in the grand scheme of the project. I don't especially care to see her waste a spot on songs that a) few know-know and b) she'll never perform again.

IMO, there's a clear differentiation between her known and loved Grammy performances and random ish like 'Precious Lord'. Some of them songs you mentioned would definitely fall into the latter category.

She probably won't even attend this time. If she comes halfway again, she will be dragged.

i dont want her to attend. that will also encourage hive (esp twt hive) to care less if she wins or not.

is this a safe space? I don't really **** with the Renaissance cover, and ultimately I think having horses on each album cover is confusing (bc what the **** is the point? :psyduck:)

the renaissance horse is her as a space cowboy. its an alien superstar reference. im sure its further explored in the visuals we have yet to see.

with the REN horse becoming a viral symbol (including getting the name reneigh from fans), beyoncé felt pressured to put horses on the other 2 covers as well. as we know, the beyince cover had no horse and that was the original cover.

but i think having a horse as a central symbol works, as its a strong symbol for america. horses were the way people got around for centuries, so they were and still are a big industry. the very first cowboys were slaves, and she hails from texas, a large agricultural state. the acts trilogy explores american music genres from a Black POV. so in that way the horse symbolizes her "saddling up" (american requiem reference) and taking on each genre.

I just hope the horse on the third cover is done as intelligently as the first two. A horse is iconic part of both the Studio 54 club image she was going for in Renaissance, and of the cowboy image. I'm curious to know how she'll contextualize it a third time. Does it even serve as an image/symbol for anything else?

CC cover (with the flag) > Ren cover.

also, SE Ren cover > standard ren cover

The RENAISSANCE original cover is her second best album cover after 'B'Day'. I have grown to love the 'COWBOY CARTER' album cover (Standard Edition).

It's called a theme. It's called consistency. It's called branding and marketing 101.

I'm so glad all of my close (non-Hive) friends don't entertain that Beyoncé/Diddy mess

It does amaze me though how so many people are waiting, with bated breath, to see Beyoncé fail. It reminds me just how nasty some ppls spirits are. There's a lesson in that we should all observe and apply to our own lives…

I despised the og renny cover but honestly it's iconic now and straight to the point, no broken joint poses no hats no paintings behind her just her bbl and that horse

When you explain it, I see the vision. I just question how much of this is interpretation vs. intended meaning from Bey. It's not to knock you, I'm just skeptical of Ms. Cowboy Capitalist

Keeping it a buck, DIL is her best cover. The look, the clean design, the power pose, etc. is all so effortless. B'Day's cover is cute, but overproduced and did not age well.

if basé didn't rank IASF so low all the time (which I agree with btw), it should be in contention for her best album cover
