Oh and also... Echoville is obviously still on the table. Whatever that ends up being.

She's trademarked Echoville just a few months ago under the following categories;

  • "Glasses; sunglasses; cases for sunglasses; cases for mobile phones" (sounds like Website Merch)
  • "Clocks; Watches; Jewelry; Keychains; Lapel pins and ornamental pin" (Keychains and Pins are typical Bey Merch)
  • "Photographs; Stationery; Stickers; Posters; Event programs; Notepads; Blank journals; Collectible trading cards; Collectible printed trading cards; Comic books; Pen and pencil cases" (Posters are typical Bey Merch)
  • "Bags, namely, tote bags, beach bags, handbags, diaper bags, baby carriers worn on the body, pouch baby carriers, luggage; small leather goods, namely, leather cases, leather bags and wallets, leather purses, leather billfolds, leather key chains, leather key" (again, Tote bags and keychains are obvious merch)
  • "Household and kitchen containers; lunch boxes; wash bags; fitted vanity cases; food storage containers; drinks containers; plastic drinks containers (empty); stainless steel drinks containers (empty); sports bottles (empty); hydration packs comprising a fluid reservoir and a delivery tube" (I could see her sending out steel water bottles in PR packages/selling them on her site for Echoville once the project has launched)
  • "Clothing; Headwear; Footwear" (Hats are obvious merch)
  • "Bedding, namely, bed spreads, bed sheets, bed throws, bed linen, bed blankets; linens, namely, table linens, kitchen linens, household linens, bath linens; towels; textile wall hangings; blankets, namely, blanket throws, children's blankets, lap blankets, fleece blankets, blankets for household pets, blankets for outdoor use; comforters; pillow cases; duvets" (we have already seen her release blankets as part of the Renaissance merch collection)
  • "Stuffed and plush toys; Collectible toys; Toy action figures and toy action figure accessories; Playing cards; Action Figures; Board games; Water toys; Radio-controlled toy vehicles and drone toys; Party games; Trading cards for games" (Branded playing cards for Echoville would make sense if Texas Hold Em--a song that riffs on Poker--is included in this visual project).

All being said, she's very obviously cooking something up.

Echoville was last officially referenced by Parkwood with the Cecred haircare tiktok, and previously before that on the tour in the visuals.

Consider the connection between Renaissance's 'Mind Control' KNTY News tour segment (playing on FOX News' aesthetic and ability to brainwash people into their echochambers) and Cowboy Carter's KNTRY Radio Texas with it's 10,000 watts of healing power (and the CGI radio waves that shoot out of the radio station during the Texas lyric video). It seems clear to me that Act III's visuals might focus more on the grungey newspaper aesthetic (the Delresto album art is clearly a still from the Echoville visual project imho, and the allusion to Betty Black confirms to me its placement in Act III), meaning ACT I is TV, ACT II is Radio and ACT III is the printed press. Put it all together and you have a visual project, Echoville, which considers the way in which the media has shaped our understanding of genre, and of the way the media has erased the Black roots of modern popular genres.

You nailed it :clap3:

From one essay-writing girl to another lol, I appreciate your insights and optimism.

I'm 100% with you on the fact that the silence is indicative of... something.

I'll problematically take it a step further and say Bey slimming down come album release window is characteristic of readying a live something. It wasn't for IG pics and a quick lil appearance at iHeart.

She is for sure miscalculating how to keep people invested, but I just don't buy that she's sitting idle.

We've been "here" before post Rennie release and came to find out she was prepping the tour. I can't "un-remember" that just cus I'm annoyed with the silence/

And for what it's worth, I am glad BEYONCE and Lemonade were included on that Apple List thing.

My two favorite studio albums respectively.

Although it seems like Renaissamples is tugging on Lemonade's legs for the #2 spot. Damn you, Church Girl you b!tch. Why do you do this to me?

No been country update for a bit

That random ass site.

Sometimes she wants us to be Swifties, putting in effort to dig up clues. Then other times she ignores us completely. Sometimes both at the same time. It's like damn *****, can you make up your mind?

We need a team at Parkwood dedicated purely to fan service and engagement. She can approve all of the activities/games/puzzles the team comes up with, just make it complete and not confusing.

Though, that might be too much to ask from a team that can't print CDs/Vinyls with the right track list aka the bare minimum. :rip:

That last line.

And the more they said, "Oh she won't show us her hair," the more she didn't want to show it. So we had a hard time getting her to finally put that video out."

Sounds about right. :deadbanana2:

She's so hard-headed omg. I think fans need to stop asking for visuals and performances and she'll put them out herself. She really hates being told what to do. Wbk.

I love fave but she can be so scary sometimes. She REALLY hates not being in the drivers seat.

I'm glad she went through with it.

Contextually, I kinda get it. They kept Taylor's secret and didn't tell anyone else, but then they decided to let others know about Renaissance.

Quote

To soothe bruised feelings, before Beyoncé's film went on sale, AMC gave its competition a super-secret heads-up: Don't tell anyone, but be ready to put tickets on sale.

"At least half a dozen movie circuits leaked the news," Aron laments. "Beyoncé was seriously thinking about not doing the movie at all because the secret was blown. So, they didn't keep their word."

They should've been given the same treatment, but let Taylor's film be secret and then when theaters got mad they didn't know, AMC decided to let them know about Renaissance to make up for it. And you can't tell me they didn't know it would leak.

Do you guys think that the reason Beyonce is not on Twitter or that active on social media is because she wants to protect her mental health?

I think this may be part of it, but I think (more than anything) it has never suited her brand. And IMO it's up there as one of the best decisions she ever made.

The sheer number of celebs who have shown how wack they are or outright canceled themselves is astounding. And it's something that probably wouldn't have happened had they not succumbed to what the app calls for by design: conversation and personalized (attempts at) relatability.

Bey, like a handful of super duper titans, skews very "Old Hollywood" where the name of the game is being mysterious, unreachable, and thus more of a "special attraction". We don't need to know what she's eaten for breakfast, whether she's mad at Jay, or her opinion on a crazy politician.

Sure, she loses relatability points in an era that increasingly calls for it, but something people don't wanna really admit is the fact that there is still a lot of stock in the concept of the "unattainable celebrity". It's like "what's bigger, better, and more jaw-dropping" than a relatable celeb?....one you can't get near". It's why she's even a celeb to celebs.

And I'm here for it

I think it's deeper than that. Cause she obviously still reads (or has her team read) tweets.

I think it's more that she realized how dumb people are (experts with no expertise) and didn't want to be caught rolling in the mud with them. Even her own "stans" say the most disrespectful **** about her and her family day in and day out.

I think that's also why Rihanna, Gaga, and Taylor backed off. There's like no upside to engaging with every day fans that closely.

Absolutely.

The type of discourse that exists on that app is heinous...nobody should feel they have enough access to tag her into egregious discussions & accusations surrounding her & her family.

wisest thing she's ever done...the sacrifice of appeal based on "relatability" is worth the trade off

Sure it's to protect her mental health but she's also kinda an old lady when it comes to that stuff. :rip: I remember when she went on Letterman and said, "My sister loves to Twitter. I just pick up the phone" so smugly :deadbanana2:

I can accept this. Ultimately she released it, so we can assume her consideration for us outweighed her privacy concerns. So no hard feelings there.

But still, it's scary to think that we, the fans, were this close to being punished because of some messy execs at a theater company. Like, damn, ma. Was it that serious? Cause apart from the tour, we got NOTHING else from her that era — especially if you consider that most tour content/discussion was primarily driven by people's homemade tour videos. :rip:
