She had the hype right there, and then kept trying to portray an image I feel that was just truly her. your points are valid but Chlöe's career could have blossomed really well with a quick, easy follow-up single to "Have Mercy" and an EP drop shortly after. idk if it was her or Parkwood or who, but they dragged their feet to get that album out and pushed the wrong singles along the way (then didn't even put them on the album...) ideally, this is what they could have done: "Have Mercy" drops before the VMAs in 2021. it's a hit. "Surprise drops" in February/March 2022. mashup performance with "Freak Like Me" at BET awards in June 2022. "Body Do" drops as the third and final pre-release single before the EP/album. perfect for the summer. EP/album comes out in July 2022, a week or two before RENAISSANCE. and I think that would have been a successful rollout. instead they followed up with "Treat Me," which was dod, then tried to launch the album with Latto and Chris Brown collabs nobody asked for instead of Halle Bailey and other R&B girls that should have been on there. mess all around. the EP/album could have been her JAGUAR I moment, but instead it's an unremarkable and forgettable record that no one revisited after one stream.

Tyla is sexy, sensual, appealing without being abrasive and vulgar. She uses innuendos and metaphors instead of straight up begging for c*ck and cursing. That's how you do a debut! Let people be accustomed to you. Let people assess you for your talents and nothing else. Once you're three, four albums in and has proven yourself, you can do whatever you want. Chloe needed Parkwood to give her restrictions, not boundless freedom. The constraints Columbia put on Beyoncé made her work 10x harder, gave her discipline, steered her in the right direction. I equally want it (just because) and also to get some kind of intel about her timeline for this era. She's "Beyonce", so of course could pull off another "album now, tour summer next year" format. But I really don't see CC holding up "as" long as Rennie unsupported (e.g. sans visuals, performances, a live something). Not because of its quality (it's incredible, but a combo of diminished attention spans the genre, the fact little else beyond Texas has gone viral-viral). So, IMO, if the 29th thing is a thing, November 29th 2024 works, as does August 29 2025 at the latest.

Knowing what to expect now coupled with the fact we didn't even get Ren's crumbs for this era PLUS the botched rollout and physicals make it feel even worse My guess from the beginning was that the visuals for CC are coming pretty "soon" and that's why she doesn't wanna give too much away in advance. She gave a lot of iconography for Ren bc she knew we wouldn't get anything else for years to come. As you said she probably doesn't wanna spoil it and keep it a surprise. But seeing as we're on week 3 since album release with no trailer, no cliquebait, 0 mention of visuals… i truly don't know anymore I do (kinda) feel like something's happening "soon", the radio silence feels weirder than Ren's for whatever reason but at the snail pace at which she moves "soon" could be august or september 2
