Space&Time Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I’m sure it was discussed but I’m getting confused with the pre-order numbers. Are yall posting what’s left or what’s sold? Are we keeping count of the probable sales based on the initial inventory and are we accounting potential restocking? 1

I don't know for ya'll but my weekend will start the 3.28 - no way i'm working the day of a B release I’ve never had to take a day off, cus, as usual, I happen to be on vacation whenever she releases. This time in London where the stanning is steeped 1

ReneighIsHere Posted March 16 Posted March 16 it's basically the norm nowadays to leave it to the GP to choose the post-album single so i'm not worried about that.. they might not promote the right track during the first week but they'll be forced to listen to the public eventually.. so hopefully someting stands out after the first few days and they make that the single
FSXP Posted March 16 Posted March 16 After witnessing JT and JLO’s rollout, it’s sad to say you really do become insufferable to the masses after a certain age if you’re everywhere and pushing your material in their faces. There are times that I think Beyoncé should do more (and I still think she could do more in certain aspects) but I do also wonder if because she’s not so in your face for promo. It’s why she can still be seen as more likable than a chunk of her contemporaries. 4 2

Instead of giving off the vibe of "aunty that tries to keep up with her nieces", her image is talented yet mysterious. It makes people interested in her actions and turns her performances and tours into events. 3 1

cloudbusting Posted March 16 Posted March 16 y'all are also forgetting that those hags are washed up and dropping straight TURDS ageism is definitely a factor, but recording the musical equivalent of dysentery and calling it an album doesn't help that's a very important part of Bey's sustained success - she's continued to hone her craft and experiment consistently instead of coasting in a comfort zone 5
Burn Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Beyoncé comes from the school of Michael Jackson and Prince. They too remained elusive and just kept it about their art, barely doing any promotion. It worked out ok for them.

sillycilla Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) lol @ MJ and elusive. If that man was going to do anything, it was promote his music. And are yall really comparing Jt/jlo to Bey? Like someone mentioned they never honed their craft. JT released music every 10 years, plus always cheating on his wife and the Britney drama didn’t help. JLO could never sing and never was an artist. The artists that consistently released and/or promoted, Drake, Rihanna’s, Taylor, etc are reaping the rewards. Edited March 16 by sillycilla 1 2
PaloSanto Posted March 16 Posted March 16 THE is a hit, every day a new local celebrity is using it on their stories, it's giving smash here. Hopefully it transforms into tour dates.
sillycilla Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Also I got a nice kick out of being reminded how everyone absolutely trashed JT when he attempted a country album a few years ago. So far, the reception with Bey has been good, I hope it continues.

Thriller is the best selling album of all time and he didn't promote it (apart from the Pepsi commercial which he only appears for 3 seconds in and didn't even want to do). You could say the Thriller visual was promo but that arrived 2 years after the album. I do think Bey has learned from him.

And she hasn't just talked the talk - she said what she was going to do and kept doing it. Bigger, better, Beyonce lol Thats why shes in a completely different lane than JT or Jlo
Burn Posted March 16 Posted March 16 To think that some people really wanted this era to be called Redemption 8

Bigger, better, Beyonce lol Thats why shes in a completely different lane than JT or Jlo There’s absolutely several factors that go into it. I also think Bey’s quality and creativity is vastly above them, but it was more about the optics that come with aging that she’s avoided so far. It’s almost like them (Justin and Jennifer) constantly pushing themselves into every space to promote causes them to look more like they’re wanting it too much and trying too hard which causes more people on social media to try to humiliate them in a sense. The same kind of happened to Madonna at one point but she was still able to successful on a level that they weren’t. Edited March 16 by FSXP
Beyle Street Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Spotify wise, I think CC doing 50M first day is reasonable. We still have yet to see the tracklist but if it's 12+, it's doable.
PaloSanto Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Hoping she sticks to 16 tracks for all 3 acts. 16 is divisible by 4 2

His label invested millions into the promotion and the goal was for him to be the biggest pop star in the world. HIS words, that doesn’t happen by not promoting. And the Pepsi commercial was not the only thing LOL.. Again, Michael was all about pushing his music. Edited March 16 by sillycilla 1

However I am hoping the album will be more innovative and not just trying to be country.
