If anything I think the debut will be the best chance at it being #1, hope I’m wrong though. I refuse to believe we are listening to the same tracks. BMS more digestible than texas hold em? BMS was very polarizing and the reaction to it proved that to be the case. Am I the only one who thinks these tracks are a lot more radio friendly? 3
Devin Posted February 12 Posted February 12 im glad she gave us something to talk about bc some of yall were getting down bad. 1
swissman Posted February 12 Posted February 12 can I just say I love the image of Beyoncé driving a taxi... like they could have picked any old car but they chose a taxi specifically. does anyone know if this is a movie reference or something? I just love that both bey and a taxi are iconic symbols and together they create this interesting image like why is a taxi in the desert!? 1
Starshine Posted February 12 Posted February 12 when she goes all black hair for the rock era I see it... I see it. 1

I mean outside of it being country by a Black woman, Texas Hold 'Em is in the same lane as CUFF IT imo. and tbh if Beyoncé somehow gets a TikTok dance for this song... it could really be the CUFF IT of this act.
ariesgroove Posted February 12 Posted February 12 did they mention the formats texas is being serviced to?
Kristie Kuwa Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Rennie was Sashas era. Rodeo is Beyonces era. Ugh, theres something so nostalgic about hearing Bey just being cheeky, fun, silly without being sexual. Dont get me wrong, I adore raunchy Bey, but this side is just so refreshing to see/hear 2
Kristie Kuwa Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Btw, I need a gay to mash up Texas Hold EM with 9 to 5 2

IDK, I feel like they both are easily digestible for the types of tracks they are. Both are polarizing though, considering they're Beyonce tracks. I do see why BMS was the introduction to Rennie, and I bet I will feel the same about Texas once the album is out

Not sure if it’s a reference but I’m quite sure they’re using a taxi as an extra layer to separate the residents of the desert from Bey. We know she’s an outsider and I bet the movie will focus on that and we will see her arriving and disrupting things. I must say I’m intrigued about the repeated horse imagery on the avant-garde visuals for Renaissance BUT she’s suddenly driving a car in an old western movie inspired teaser? Everything feels upside down.
Saintlor Posted February 12 Posted February 12 If the tour is called the Beyonce tour, does this mean she's doing a greatest hits tour instead of an act 2 tour?

I just love that both bey and a taxi are iconic symbols and together they create this interesting image like why is a taxi in the desert!? Hmm.. can't think of a specific movie. Nadia Lee Cohen is a BIG movie person, so I'm expecting it to be a film lovers' cult classic like "Pulp Fiction" or something. Does Beyonce use it to escape from Studio 54 / NYC? That would be interesting if she walks up the stairs from the club (like the photoshoot), goes outside, and a taxi (usually sitting in front of a club) is the first vehicle she sees. If that is the case, I could see "16 Carriages" as her travel music to Texas (cutting in and out of her sitting in the same position at various ages on tour busses), with "Texas Hold Em'" starting when she gets to the billboard in the new trailer. 1
Slamless Posted February 12 Posted February 12 so who's gonna start the lead single rankings now that we have texas hold em 1
Saintlor Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I know she loves her exclusive image and it works best for her, it would be amazing if for even just one era she let her guard down. It would be such a refreshing change

Triton Posted February 12 Posted February 12 11 minutes ago, swissman said: Somehow I assume these two tracks are the first two on the album? I thought I saw that...anyway, if that is true, it's smart because we saw that I'M THAT GIRL was getting such a boost on release week for being the first song... maybe that can help propel it further on release week if the radio is not as strong. Competition is pretty weak right now, anything above 200 points and she’s #2. The only songs that’s blowing up is Beautiful Things. I don’t see the charts changing too much, Ariana Grande might have something up her sleeve before her album release and Taylor Swift might release a lead single if she wants or wait until her album drops but apart from that it’s pretty open. Justin will also release but it’s flopping and JLo is a non event. 1
