we complain all the time but I'm just thinking about how SMART it was for her to release the movie the weekend she did...

it was a great plan to shatter a historically dull weekend and land a box office #1 without having the go against any serious competition. I just saw that it's only the 5th concert movie in history to top box office, 4th being the other girl's. them two basically doubled the number this year :chick1:

RENAISSANCE is already in the Top 10 of highest-grossing concert movies, and there are quite a few markets where the movie has not opened yet. when all is said and done, she could be No. 5. not bad for a geriatric palliative care queen with a swollen kneecap.

I remember I was asleep 10 years ago and then I got a sudden urge to wake up at like 3:03 EST and I checked my phone and I saw it dropped. I watched all the videos before I had to get ready for school and listened to it again on my way to school and all throughout the day.

I was leaving the club and then saw her in St. Louis the next day :jonny5:

Since we are at the 10 year anniversary, what was everyone doing when self titled was dropped?

My concert was the 13th, and I was closing when I worked at Target when my phone blew up with "SHE DROPPED THE ALBUM WITH VIDEOS FOR ALL OF THEM" I thought it was a joke but I checked twitter to see everyone freaking out. I left work an hour earlier than I was supposed to, then watched all the videos as my first listen.. and wow what a moment. Partition was so shocking and probably my favorite video of hers. I tried to learn all the lyrics to all the songs for the next day, which was good cause she sang XO for the first time and I got plenty of eye contact since I was one of the only people who knew the lyrics (the next day waiting outside in FREEZING temps with the beyhive and we were all discussing the album drop was truly a moment I'll never forget)

:ryan3:

Crazy ass story I can never forget, I had just gotten food poisoning from dinner and had to call into work, I remember literally feeling like I was gonna die, my stomach was hurting so bad. I was laying in bed and dozed off kinda sitting up and when I woke up around a random time like 2:30am or something to throw up I looked at my phone and just saw the pink letters and it al unfolded from there. I got fired for calling into work, but imagine me being at work that next morning when this all unfolded. :deadbanana4:

I was late to the party and I was so ******* mad! Lmao, I was just coming off my 12 hr shift and I was in a dead sleep the next day til like 11am :dies:

I woke up to missed calls, and texts and I thought Beyoncé literally died or something. :psyduck:

But then it turned out that she just released my favorite album ever.

Premiering the visuals on Spotify would honestly be iconic and make the most sense (for several reasons)....which is probably why Taylor will somehow do it first with her next project.

I was on that Beyhive messageboard ( I miss that place) and we were dragging Bey actually, tired of the waiting and all the trolling she usually does lol and then it just happened! While we were all discussing her! It was complete madness in that forum, then i came here too and i think the place shut down. I watched the videos all night and i didn't sleep for two days. I was THAT shocked about the whole thing. These are special memories that will forever be grateful for. THAT is what Beyoncé wants her fans to experience and she did it her own way, refusing to follow like the others. Looking back, she was totally right and i'm so happy that era happened the way it did.

BeyonceWorld message board right as the IASF era began and Beyonce came an international icon was a time to be alive. It's how a lot of us met to begin with, Kisuke was also there. We came here as a group one day as a means to drag the Britney stans and never left. :deadbanana2:

I was out with friends and some guy that claimed to like me but was also a jerk to me texted me and said, "Did you see Beyonce dropped an album?" I thought what a ******* ******* (he knew I was fiending for the album) and went about my night.

Twenty minutes later I opened Instagram and saw it. I put my full drink on the table and walked out without telling anyone then watched the videos all night on repeat :deadbanana4:

It would be iconic and suitably trollish of her to drop the visuals or announce the release date of them on the 10th anniversary of the day she changed music history with a visual album

Your friends just hearing a swoosh and turning around but you’re not there, the ice still rattling in your glass :toofunny3:

I live in the UK so I found out around 8am. I couldn't listen until the evening and I didn't watch the videos for 2 or 3 days to drag out the experience.

I really wanna see the RWT movie, has anyone seen it and can offer an opinion on it?

it would also be too logical and generous for Yachtyoncé to do so she’ll just let us rot:suburban:

I'm pretty sure no one will believe me, but I kinda predicted the surprise drop. I remember following all the rumors that year about her filming the videos and hoping she would just release it at once. It was just an idea that crossed my mind, but I soon forgot about it. I only remembered it after the drop and I was so proud of myself that I had that tiny feeling what she's about to do. I also predicted that she would release all the songs from her following album as singles, but that prediction never came true.

However, I went to school that Friday. It was a completely normal day. I woke up and HAVEN'T checked what's going on on the internet. I didn't do that back then, but she changed my habits. Changed the game with that digital drop. My teacher, actually, who knew that I liked Beyonce and shared my taste, told me that she saw Beyonce's name on some headline, but she didn't get to read it. She had thought it would be something negative. I dismissed it and went on with my day. I logged into the internet when I got back home, and damn... I still remember how I screamed. I started jumping around my room, screamed even lauder. I jumped all the way to the kitchen and hugged my mom and told her what happened. She didn't care lol (but she liked Drunk In Love). I spent the whole day listening to it and watching the videos. Reading the comments online, on ARTL too. I was crazy about it. That night I went to a party and spent it with my phone, checking in how many countries she's hit number one, and I was telling everyone about it.

It's such an iconic moment. I can't think of many like that. It was different with Lemonade. Formation, too, was a shock. It's so iconic how we all remember where we were, what we did, and we'll talk about it for the rest of our lives. It's the most iconic moment of her career, definitely.

This Yonce interlude is like one of the best things she has ever done.
