The way the only photographic evidence of my meeting with basé titan @cloudbusting is on my drunk girlfriend’s phone. Hope she wakes up soon!

They’re getting cut. Documentary footage will be spliced between the sections

I feel like it be a mixture of brief interlude visuals transitioning into flashbacks or BTS footage.

The 2.30hr runtime is rattling me too, because there's so much to shoehorn in.

I could have seen her cutting the interludes too until I remembered that Nadia Lee Cohen is listed as a director. Meaning either the interludes for sure are in hence why Nadia is credited or something visuals-related made the cut. A concert-doc hybrid is not her wheelhouse, so I don't think it's the show parts itself.

In any case, I'm bracing for a super tight edit of the show.  Watching the tour again on YT, I can see quite a few areas they can shave time off to apportion to the doc footage.

Like I Care and 1+1 from the ballad section axed and ish like Partition, Lift Off, and RDY gone too. Plastic is extremely non-eventful, so can go. The BVs doing Love Hangover (much as I'd love for them to get their dues on the big screen) can go as well.

There are a few long walks up the ramp to strategic cuts in songs like Cuff It (clap clap clap when she's coming down the stairs) or shortening BMS (which is kinda long) that would help too.

The more I type the more I'm kinda nervous about the format. I've seen the show in person, so am fine. But I don't want the film to be messy when she set such a high standard with Homecoming, which by comparison was a shorter live show anyway.

In a way, it almost feels neater either going for a long runtime (3 hours) and putting in the whole show and a meaty doc. OR keep it to the show (like Ms Swift) and save the doc / visual elements for streaming.

Really intrigued about what the format will be.

i also don't know what to expect on the film

i have a strong feeling she's only going to put the renaissance performances in full and cut/shorten/show clips on most of the rest of the setlist + interludes

This needs to be the last single of the era. It's just too good

That reminds me: wasn't it supposed to be out this last Saturday? I'd be curious to watch it!

Also, this is for the Vocal Hive

Spoiler

The fan edit is not that good. There are some strange angle choices and moments when they put in some GOD awful TikTok filter:mazen:

Im sorta cracking up at visuals at this point, yall are NOT going to be excited by seeing videos for songs that are two years old. :deadbanana:

Move on baby.

There is no reason why FANPAGES are doing a better job at reporting different countries showing Renaissance Film than Parkwood themselves :rip:

Move on baby.

I REFUSE!

Sure they will not have the impact they would've had on us had they come out within 6 months of the album's release but it would still be a great experience for any fan and would definitely elevate the album in ways which we cannot imagine yet.

She WILL NOT make us live a world in which freaking superpower and sporit have music videos but Virgo's Groove doesn't. She simply can't.

IMO, the easiest means of salvaging what's left of this visual situation is to package them in this film (somehow, anyhow) and call it a day.

The more I think, milking Rennie for another "thing" on streaming etc just won't hit. These songs are almost 2 years old in an era of diminishing attention spans (which essentially makes them double that time).

I'm still Optimistic Hive, but that need not be delusional Hive. 2024 for the videos objectively makes no sense and will factually get a "meh" response from the GP and probably even the Hive.

The only way that could work in any way outside of the above is a joint movie with the videos for Act 2 (assuming it even exists :noparty:)

Move on baby.

I would be tbh. I'm even excited about the concert movie and I've watched clips from every show, including whole concerts. :suburban:

But if we ever get the visuals I believe they would be combined with act 2 at this point.

You can lock yourselves in some mental institution and throw away the key forever if you consider yourselves to be Beyoncé fans but at the same time you hope for the erasure of gems like 1+1 and I Care.

What the **** is wrong with you? Aren't you the same mfs who feel outraged whenever the GP disrespects Beyoncé as a singer?

Just unstan already.

There's also people that hate Church Girl and that's such a Beyoncé song to me. Nobody else would pull it off.

i don’t think anyone means it like that

it’s more in the sense that we already have a LOT of professional footage of her singing 1+1 or I Care (let’s be real the Homecoming one’s just so much better than current I Care anyway) so it’s better to scrap them than any Ren song for which we have zero footage and probably won’t get anything ever again outside the film

Dangerously in Love (arabic scales version) NEEDS to be in the film tho let’s make this very clear

I think they are waiting until Thursday to post about it. That’s when the international tickets are supposed to go on sale. I hope they drop a new trailer to go with the announcement

if the visuals are really just focused on renaissance alone then I don’t want another visual album for act 2 either. Just give me regular iconic music videos released at a reasonable time

and yes her streams are pretty bad atm but at least they are not as bad as they could’ve been without the tour :/

my ultimate delusional wish is that 6 months from now when the album and movie are dying, she drops a remix album accompanied with the visuals to give Ren one last push on the charts. once that hits its course she can drop Act II in late 2024 with proper videos for the singles only

I would've been fine with this for Renaissance, tbh I didnt think it would be a visual album when it was announced and even after it was released.

But after she released that teaser all hell broke loose. She opened the the gates and put herself in a corner with it, now ofc everybody expects them.

same i was sure we wouldn’t get a visual album again but when we got no mv for BMS and nothing on album release day so i was suspicious and then… came that damn trailer :deadbanana4: i wish we would’ve never seen that ****

she really saw TG/BIK’s awful ass rollout and said "you know what let’s do that again but add an extra year lol write that down Yvette" :deadbanana2:
