Seeing how ACT 2 is a ''country'' album...I wonder if she did these 3 album fully prepared to bomb

Country is huge rn so it might actually do well in an alternate universe where she doesn’t actively sabotage her own career :'(

But u dont get it: thats whats gonna happen in the future. Her catalog will be looked at and the lack of impact on the new gen and thus everything will be devalued in hindsight. Thats popculture. Thats why Janet Jackson doesn't matter, as sad as it is. She simply doesnt.

Janet was erased, it´s a completely different thing.

the boost of a small JAZZ residency vs a stadium tour is not making the point you think it is :toofunny2:

It's not about the magnitude of things, it's about generating new content. Gaga is back on stage after one year and she's singing new versions of past hits. Yes, Rihanna hasn't released anything, but she's in the news because she just had a child and that's why her monthly listeners are going up. Again, this metric just shows reach not actual consumption: Bey outstreams Daddy Yankee, Gaga or Adele despite having less monthly listeners.

Idk the way country has become more homogenous, right wing, and the way they looked at her when she performed doesn’t bode well. Unless dolly embraces her.

I’ve been hoping after all these years the hive that told us to stop caring about radio, streams etc would say or show something that makes me think I’m overreacting. Yet the data isn’t reflecting that.

I remember this exact dialogue happening when lemonade wasn’t released to Spotify and everything chart hive stated would happen has come to pass.

We’ve been comparing her to the wrong Jackson all this time. :gaycat6:

Let’s do research mama. Every fanbase on here thinks their fave is a legend. I’ve been hearing Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears are legends for the past 10 years and clearly people are lying! Hell I even see legends like Diana, Madonna, Luther, Tina called icons by people in and out of the industry. I rarely see people actually use the word legend for musical artists, it’s VERY rare. If you were to ask random GP members I really doubt they would label Bey a legend, in fact I bet Taylor would get more responses of that nature. The reality is the public is fickle, while we might enjoy the quality music, performance, and vision Beyoncé has given us all these years the public only knows what they hear on the radio and on these promoted playlists. So they’re familiar with what… Crazy in Love, Single Ladies, Run The World, Drunk in Love, Formation, etc. Meanwhile there’s crickets for the Dance For You, Love Drought, Jealous, All Night, Virgos Groove, etc all of these truly amazing songs that show her TALENT get paid dust by her team

No first of all i am guessing you are white (no shade), but your environment must be extremely skewed. Diana, Madonna, Luther and TINA are actually referred to as LEGENDS and PIONEERS  in the real world. Now maybe in your circle, taylor swift might be called a legend, but that does not represent the actual scale, colour and range of people in the world. Taylor also has a lot of songs that are "crickets" depending on where you actually play them. So yes, BEYONCE is a legend, she is seen as one in the REAL WORLD and no amount of streams, lakes and rivers will change that.

So you think that if her team promotes Jealous and Love Drought so the GP knows them, they’ll think she’s a legend because somehow her singles don’t show her talent but those songs do? hm.. ok :bird:

If some people are not using the word legend in reference to Beyoncé is because people don’t usually use that word for people that’s still alive and active.

Thank you. Perfectly said. Like if bey gets 1 billion streams in one week, everyone will now call her a legend..LIKE BE FOR REAL

I don’t think they would

maybe she should’ve promoted it and uploaded the footage of the performance to her YT page :clown:

Oh baby they actually do...and thats the stupidity of it all.

This is not good and I think it's simply the quality of music. Lyrically, she's getting worse with each album. Her lyrics are Damn near corny nowadays despite having many writers. The Dream should have been gone after 4.

Is Beyoncé holding you at gun point to listen to her music 14 months later?

So you want Bey to have several hit singles per era because that’s an “artist’s legacy”, but also want to use Janet as a synonym of being “over” or “going down” when, to this day, she’s the only artist ever to have 7 top 5 singles from the same album? :rip:

So you mean to tell me the weeknd, justin bieber, marshmello, maroon 5, daddy yankee, all have better lyrics than BEYONCE? If we are going by your less than smart logic

Our opinions are divided when it comes to the handling of her career and image, but I’m proud that everyone unites to gather anyone who questions the quality of mother’s music

I said what I said. I'd ordered box #3, and while I enjoy the instrumentals, the lyrics are cringy.

You are not a fan, only a di*w*t would say what you just said....POST MALONE is above her, so his lyrics must be better than her, when in fact no song on his last 3 albums put together is better than PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA alone. Be serious or get out of this thread

Beyoncé is and will always be considered both a legend and an icon in the Black community. It’s been clear to me for some time that’s all that matters to her, and I’m not at all mad at it.

Spoiler

Still can’t stand her neglectful *** for this boring era.
