Now wait ... compared to who? It will be 2 billion or near it in one year. How is that bad? The album has held up way better than any of us could have expected. P!nk is doing 1.5 million per day with a new album, would you prefer that? :rip: some of you are just not realistic, she is not a new artist, she is not going to be doing 6 - 7 million daily like Olivia Rodrigo, she is not part of the streaming era.

Sam Smith 3.7 million per day, 2.7 million coming from just Unholy. Not good.

Honestly I thought the album would be Doing 4.5m a year from release because I thought it'd have multiple hits... Turns out it has 1

It'll probably be doing 4.5m during the tour run. But yeah it could of done better but I also expected some form of promo and at least 3 singles like all her past main eras

Lem had Sorry/Hold Up/All Night.

My issue with visuals is that we had a trailer released a while back. She lied.

Overall it's not bad because Cuff It is saving it. Without this song smashing, it'd look bad bad.

This is my take as well. Renaissance is doing fine numbers. Nothing great, but definitely not bad, especially taking into consideration her  age/length in industry, etc.

...But the only reason it is still doing fine numbers is because of Cuff It, a song she/her team had zero part in making “happen”. Had the song not been picked up the way it was, the album would be flat out bombing right now. Less than 2M streams a mere 8 months after release. This fact makes me very worried for act 2. If they apply the same rollout and aren’t lucky to get another Cuff It, it will flat out be a huge underperformance.

She was doing the same numbers prior to the GRAMMYs and tour announcement, and with that, the numbers went up for a 1.5 months.

The new full interview with Bey for Vogue France drops online tomorrow. Praying Mama has some new announcements for us. 🙏

I'd say the album is doing pretty good overall, still in the Top 20-30 of the BB200. If we are talking only about streaming then I fully agree with you. If there is another album soon the risk of underperformance is heavy, although the Tour might help a lot.

Im excited to see new photos of the Balmain collection. The photos Olivier posted with the red background showed the details of the outfits so much more!

If she actually shares pertinent information in a random Paris Vogue "interview" about chandelier dresses a year after her most acclaimed album came and went :deadbanana2:

I doubt we'll get anything. Remember we all waited for a lengthier interview after that little Vogue article last year and then we all realized that little article was it

it’s either speculating about crumbs or ranking her albums again :giraffe:

A hit single saving an era is kind of normal though. See B’Day/Irreplaceable

More than happy to be quoted and clowned tomorrow if I'm wrong, but the fact y'all think we'll get anything of substance in that article tomorrow is afksnkajg :deadbanana2: I still remember how some people were convinced more was coming from British Vogue

We'll get a random quote about how "egoless" the collab with Balmain felt and that's that

I mean you could tell that wasn't going to happen with the way the era was going, you set yourself up. :rip: It's doing good on name alone imo.

Even without Cuff it, the album would have 1.1 billion streams which is not bad at all. We literally got nothing this era, so it really could've been a disaster, but it's far from it. Her actual peers are not getting close to this.

I mean at the beginning of the era before the album launched. Even without visuals, I expected them to launch a new single with the album but they let Alien Superstar come and go...

yeah hit singles carry albums in the streaming era, since very few listeners actually bother to buy the album. hence why we have stuff like a 36-song country album dominating the charts, The Weeknd's greatest hits compilation doing numbers, and people tacking on old ass hits to their albums like "Good Days" on SZAs album or why I imagine "WAP" and "Up" will still be included on Cardi B's sophomore album.

Bey's numbers aren't as bad as Miley's "Flowers" or Sam Smith's "Unholy" literally doing more than the rest of the album combined, lol. or "Rain on Me" helping that Italian lady's dance album.

She clearly doesn't want to play the game anymore. Your expectations are way too high imo. Taylor was doing similar overall numbers for Folklore and Evermore, and her hype was bigger with her releasing album after album. I'm sure people disappointed in REN streams thought that was good for Taylor. Act 2 success will depend on the sound.

Renaissance is doing okay for a neglected album. I can't believe it's been almost 8 months. :rip:

Renaissance-3,561,271 [Day 242]

Chromatica (ft Ariana and Blackpink)-1,960,133 [Day 242]

30-2,613,187 [Day 250]

It's not even a game, its just being... Well normal. I mean she cares enough to release remixes to score a number 1, she cared to release a pre album single and announce it in advance, she cares enough for Cuff it to be sitting high on TTH playlist for 6months which is all funded playlisting. She cared enough to initially set a date for Church Girl adds to radio...

I don't think we should try to make too sense from any of her/the teams decisions but the album could of been doing better with very minimal changes in the era. It would be doing 4.5m consistently if Alien was just allowed to become a thing, the same way Cuff It was and if album launch playlisting was concentrated on one of the potential hits instead of it heavily leaning towards Church Girl & Summer Rennaisance in august.

I agree the album is doing well but I dont think it was unreasonable to expect it to be doing better back with all the potential it had.
