It's the same at the Oscars It only matters in the eyes of those who care and most people don't really care that's why people keep attending the Grammys and submitting. Fair point. I also think sometimes it's the sum of multiple wrongs that can do irreparable damage and ultimately cause something once sturdy to break. The Grammys is under so much scrutiny as an institution (after the Jay, Weeknd dramas) and also exists in a world that is much more "woken" to racial injustice today... in general. With Bey in particular, sure she's been snubbed before. But no scenario has had her a) the critics clear favorite by a country mile b) the GP's pick by a country mile and c) the masses immensely plugged in to the backstory of her snubs in totality. It's not out of the realm of possibility for BS to manifest tonight, but Bey is very beloved en masse (see: tour hype) so the scale of backlash - from the public, critics, and the Black music industry would be intense. As we've discussed, though, the only way the Grammys avoid that (if they are adamant on snubbing her) is if they go with a Mary, Kendrick, or to a lesser extent Bad Bunny or even Lizzo...which would make any "POC's snubbed" speak kinda hard.
AxelFox Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Y'all are gonna wet your pants when the lights go off and you suddenly hear her sing 'Boy I love that you can't help but be yourself around me' and then 1 minute in the dancers come in to rip off her gown to reveal a glittery body suit while a disco globe comes down from the celling and she starts performing Virgo's Groove
ToraeGilt Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Beyoncé is not performing. Doubt Adele is either. As a matter of fact, the Grammys don’t have a lot of buzz this year
GoodGuyGoneGhetto Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Who in here has actually managed to get tickets to see her? Spoiler @MrLovett @Cbreezy @*-ChriZ-* @Devin

It's technically a promotional platform. But her noms, likely wins, and mere presence generates a lot of buzz. I'd always take a performance over an "appearance" and don't really endorse this "yaaas, give us nothing queen" mentality, but it's an objective fact. She's also selling everything (music, tour, and visuals when ready) off of buzz alone. Which is a wild and rare position to be in. I'll keep saying it, but Bey is the defining example of marketing 101 for premium brands: limit the supply, increase the demand. It's often to our detriment, but in terms of the bigger picture it's the very thing that has her hovering above ALL of her peers. Ironically even the ones that sell more than her like Taylor and Adele.

They sold out too quickly. I got extremely close with the Live Nation presale, as far as getting to the end of the queue and onto the “purchase tickets” section but my phone froze and then so did the page and the tickets sold out. I was VEX the entire day and even cussed out a colleague for no reason. I’m going to try again on Tuesday with the general sale. I’ll probably have to get seated tickets though, which is fine but I would’ve preferred standing. Edited February 5, 2023 by GoodGuyGoneGhetto

But a performance will help catapult the album and single much further than her walking the red carpet and having some articles about her winning/losing. She knows that and she knows fans are salivating for a performance and visuals. This is a prime opportunity to get a great performance for the single, which she hasn't done in the 6 months the album has been out. She deserves to be dragging for skipping every performance opportunity, come on now.

But I refreshed and suddenly I was in and tickets popped up. I wanted Gold Circle, but they'd all gone so next best thing was the standing tickets. Fingers crossed for you with the general sale, sis! You only trying for London?
AxelFox Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 I'm sorry but I simply refuse to believe she'll do an entire era without ANY televised appearence/performance at all. Since she's already skipped everything and there's nothing in sight until the tour starts in a few months it is now or never. She's taking that stage by storm tonight and that's that on that.

You only trying for London? At this moment, I can only do the London shows as I’ll be working both days (night shifts onto the morning). Also, my job is government-based and high-maintenance. I would try Sunderland but it’d be hell heading to there from a night shift to prepare and with little sleep. Cardiff is also a slight option as I have a cousin who lives there but I don’t know - we don’t really get along. Thank You Babe. Pray for me. 8 minutes ago, AxelFox said: I got Club Renaissance for opening night in Stockholm I'm actually really excited because this will be my first no-spoiler concert experience. Bicassie Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 can someone confirm to me that you can only get beyhive, club rennaissance and front row by getting the VIP packages? like is it possible to buy the ticket seperately?
Flanders Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Yeah the Grammys have ZERO buzz this year Viewership is gonna be a disaster I fear. Having said that, it would still be amazing to see her perform again and it would probably go viral after so it doesn’t matter who watches live

If I'm understanding your question correctly, then no it is not possible. They are all VIP by default. The only one you can buy separate is GA. There's regular GA ticket and then the VIP package which is early entry. Edited February 5, 2023 by AxelFox

Hanging my hopes on the BeyHive presale. Surely...surely...it'll be less busy because it's based on code? Best way to to filter out the "I love Halo as a throwback" crew. Based on FWT and OTRII, the code comes via email the morning of. Now just hoping they are unique codes so as for dummies to not share it on social media. OTRII, which is most recent, was a unique code (which is encouraging). FWT was a simple word. So, hoping it's more the OTRII format.

From how they handle their "Bey / AOTY" issue to whether the big-big acts really don't bother to show/perform. Even historical establishments like the Grammys aren't above public/industry rebellion. Any more dents to their armor and in time it will be hard to differentiate the Grammys from shows like the AMAs, VMAs etc which it's always positioned itself above. They can't build a "must-see"show around artists who are popular but not ratings magnets as performers (like Harry, Taylor, Bad Bunny, Lizzo) nor can they sustain their "premium" if the people they constantly reward are the same ol' same ol' doing the Pop promo rounds. They literally need the mega names like the Bey especially when super popular names like the Weeknd's Drake's and co have abandoned them already. There's a LITERAL and very OBVIOUS business case for them to do the right thing when it comes to Bey. They've been cutting their nose to smite their face for years and soon there won't be much of a salvageable face left. TBH, I have never believed it to be a meritocracy (which is why the "who voted for who" articles don't phase me in the slightest). We know there are secret panels within the academy with higher influence to sway the vote. Be it for political reasons, be it for the sake of the broadcast, who is/isn't attending etc. So, I'll just say that...the assignment is what it is and I hope they simply...do the right thing tonight. not dramatic at all, i think it's very well-said!
Chris Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Oh I am definitely getting tickets. I have my skanky ways.
Mitsouko Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 Do we know if they’ll get sent out all at once or just start trickling? I’m going to be checking my email all day but I’m also checking here to keep tabs on y’all
