I can already see the pop crave tweet saying “Ariana Grande announce her new single out this Friday” and then a quote tweet with 250k likes saying “so are we just going to ignore the fact that’s she’s a homewrecker?” 
And then the song is a focus 2.0 (failed hit)

I couldn't care less about her personal life - just like I didn't care about Dalton at all, however all of this, if true, does feel a bit weird considering the way she's portrayed herself in the past few years.

 

I don't care about the divorce, that's totally on them and they did the right thing if they weren't happy with their relationship, but ******* a married man with a kid is not it.

And yeah of course I'm not blaming his failed marriage on her, I wonder how a man could simply cheat/leave their wife and partner of 15 years because of a pretty/nice celebrity he's working with, tells a lot about the type of man he is.

 

She's still acting as messy as she did back in 2013-2018 and I have to say I'm surprised, she clearly hasn't healed and matured as much as we thought she had, I guess she has fooled everybody with her social media silence and looks change lol

 

Anyways, I've always been here for the music and her career, I adore her as a person as well but I have a hard time defending her this time, especially as we haven't really gotten anything from her in years.

I'm not the least bit surprised with this divorce news and her moving on to someone else as quickly as she did - she never stays single for longer than a couple of months, if that.  The cheating accusations are both valid due to the questionable timeline while also being exaggerated and sensationalized for drama.  The emotional reaction of some fans, claiming she's a horrible person are a little extreme and parasocial.  We don't know this woman personally and this is a reminder that these pop stars are in fact human beings and sometimes engage in problematic behavior.  If an intense microscope was placed on any regular person like these celebrities are under, I guarantee that some concerning moral judgements would be exposed.  That being said I can't defend her actions here. 

 

I also was skeptical of her "healed" narrative she was putting out there with Positions and her relationship with Dalton.  If she was serious about healing she wouldn't have jumped into a relationship/marriage as quickly as she did.  She got off tour in December 2019 and was allegedly in a relationship with Dalton before tour ended while there was reports of her seeing Ricky again and Mikey from Social House in 2019 as well.  She quite literally had no time to heal.  She's distracts herself in her work or with a relationship.  It's fine, she's flawed and human.  I just wish she was a little more honest with herself rather than putting on this facade.  That's why TUN (album) resonated with the GP like it did, she was honest about her messiness and flaws rather than putting out this performative positivity and healing narrative. 

 

Any predictions for AG7 release? I can see it coming Q4 of 2023 or Q1 of 2024.  She would be stupid to wait after Wicked: Part 1 and we all know Scooter won't let that happen lol.

Hmm I'm conflicted about AG7 being Tommy Brown produced. Ngl he does have my favorite Ariana tracks (goodnight n go, better off, pov, honeymoon ave, needy, off the table)  but it seems like he kinda missed on Positions (shut up, six thirty, love language, motive, west side (kinda), my hair, obvious). They seem half-baked and not as brilliant as his past work.

I agree.  I don't think Tommy Brown is at the point were he is capable of producing an entire project hence why Positions suffered from lack of variety and needed more quality control.  He does his best when he has a handful of songs on the track list.  The best album tracks on Sweetener are tracks he produced imo, mostly because they serve as a welcomed contrast to the Pharrell and Max Martin tracks.

This is true, I never thought about that.

 

On Sweetener he went 3/3 (better off, gng, pete davidson)

TUN: 4/5 (tun, 7 rings, nasa, needy) 

Positions 5.5/13 (positions, 34+35 (?), off the table, safety net, nasty, pov)

 

It seems like he has gems, but not enough for an entire tracklist

yeah I don’t think it’ll affect her that much, only way it would is if their relationship turns out being long because there’s more room for more people to “find out” 

if they break up soon and she releases AG7 in Q1 2024 no one will care about this

Listened to Positions album after a year or two. Some songs still sound good. Positions and 34+35 were good singles. POV deserved a better treatment though, with a proper music video and some performances to promote it. After that, she could've released another single as it was clear she would be on a hiatus due to other projects. Motive or Safety Net could've made good singles. Overall, this is a nice album but it doesn't add anything new to Ariana the artist. I would love to hear a dance sounding album from her, i guess she scrapped the rumored Nile Rodgers produced album or it never happened in the first place?
