Halo is more timeless because its viewed as an empowering anthem. There is always hardships in the world and travesty, this song gets used a lot as the tune for better days to come

 

Very inoffensive, light, and caring. Appeals to all demographics and ages

A mystery, mostly compared to SL. 
But then SL’s streams are also not that different from most #1 in 2008. Halo just connected more despite peaking at #5.
