But the top selling song grosses $52,000 from sales, while the top streaming songs grosses $315,000 from streaming.

It's a common knowledge that Streaming is the biggest music consumption now. . So qhat is there to prove exactly?

It still counts for the chart so yes it's still relevant. And you're using profits to drag a song? Considering 100k is like a pocket change to them.

 

And have you ever thought this "profit" you're using to made a point is only right for big artists? For small/indie artists, every money they can get is important for them to keep making music, so streaming or sales it's equally relevant

But past the debut week, sales die quick and streaming quickly take over. That's why rap albums have much more longevity on the charts than other albums nowadays and that is why the top selling album of this year will still be a streaming led album.

I didn’t say that most albums debut at #1.

I said that most albums are mostly driven by sales on theirs first week of release and then streams take over the following weeks.

 

I guess you should taken reading comprehension class before trying to get cute with the math thing.

Compare itunes to an individual streaming service and its compareable lol, so getting rid of sales is like getting rid of spotify. Ofcourse it looks like that when youre comparing 1 metric to dozens of others.

iTunes has a total monopoly on digital sales. 

it is not the case for Spotify and streaming.
