she's a singer/songwriter; Melissa Faith Storwick is her actual name (used to go by charlie i believe!) https://www.instagram.com/faangsmusic/?hl=en

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
true. i think these were all for made from scratch. "exorcist" for instance was registered to the database some time ago and FAANGS months prior to its registration said something like "Demon time 💘🦇" on his story which could've been the session for that song. cleo tighe had a couple of her demos leak. she likely shuffled her team almost entirely for a new creative direction. i just hope she recycles at least a couple of these shelved songs. i just know we lost a couple good ones...

agreeee!! i was wishing it to be a dance-pop ballad like how can i dance but oh well

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
no prob!! and you're not dumb at all; you just don't study this stuff at the college level that I currently do like most casual listeners, so i wouldn't expect you to know!! i get very geeky about this stuff, so ask away lol!! weapons is based around F♯ minor chords, and HCID leans more toward C major-type chords, but with some outside chords mixed in. soooo, they're not in the same key, but I totally get why you'd hear similarities, especially with how production and harmonies color the chords!!

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
yes! i mentioned this above, but it has the same chord progression as one of her hits "So Am I", and that chord progression is common throughout many songs across the music industry. fun fact: it's one of the most commonly confused chord progressions for a sample/interpolation!
-
Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
they're talking about the common chord progression! for instance, So Am I has the same chord progression as Skin in the Game. it's very common chord used by song writers :-) among many other chords, but they often are hidden better.

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
that's expected. a&r teams, especially nowadays, are stingey when letting artists branch out to new sounds. unless ava gets a hit with this album, in which she can advocate for herself with stronger proof that she can take off without the symbiotic relationship she has w/ them, then im afraid it'll be like that for the next album too. probably similar thing that happened with sabrina carpenter. short n' sweet took off, so while she's just fresh in the mainstream and talked about, they rushed her out another album to appeal to the target audience.

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
actually just in time!! most avatars cant keep their unemployed fingers from touching their greasy keyboards so they're already sharing the leaks, and once leaks spread, it's a california fire -- they can't be tamed. this method of promoting articles that set ava up is called negative virality, and it's more common than you think b/c you rarely ever notice when press is paid for! so, instead of trying to fight fire with gasoline by having ava break her silence and plead on tiktok to stop like she did in the D&D era, they're keeping her silent and letting the press (rolling stone, lady gaga news accounts, pop culture accounts, etc) do the work for them. overall, it boosts general curiosity, her label knows the GP (general public) doesn't have the time nor the energy to find said leaks. so, they wait for friday to play the song, and bam. not to mention that ava is currently in the khia asylum, so when people look her up, it boosts searchability & overall engagement! tl;dr -> very much planned strategy, and intended to look chaotic/messy. as i've said in the past, it's a risky method, but can work in the right hands.

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
same, it's so hard tho cause everybody, even pop culture accounts are ALREADY covering it for clout/engagement oh well, but hey at least this will encourage people to listen to her album on friday. ava's mind is so smart; she leaked it on purpose to get people talking about it and the lady gaga comparison thing. promotion to the MAX

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
true; i just like the shoot cause it reflects her whole dualistic brand. those shoots alone outdid d&d imo, not necessarily b/c they look better, but because the message it communicates is more clear & on-brand

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
yeah, but she still has time to drop everything at once (snippets, teaser trailers, etc) as i suggested her to do earlier wednesday/thursday, truuuust

Ava Max - 'Don't Click Play'
"whatever was left of her team" took me out but yes this is my thought too!! it's my same theory for why she ditched the old, darker SAF version & i dare say overall MFS project. the lyrics were probably too direct (e.g. "You're a demon in a jean skirt ..." -> "She's just a demon ..."), not to mention label politics. i dont know much about madison, so take this with a grain of salt, but given that madison has served countless people under atlantic and, let's be real, lowkey helped them obtain fame via her skillful lyricism (all of ava's biggest hits, for instance, were written by madison) in the pop industry generated large revenue for atlantic. that's also likely why SAF flopped; atlantic likely silently dropped the ex-single with very little promotion intentionally to divert madison's attention. unfortunately ava cant comment on the situation either, so we're left with educated guesses, but i'd say legal arrangement was a major factor in the overall rollout of the MFS era as a whole, given that max stated it would be about betrayal of her ex-friend.
