Pop! was only a hit cause the dance went viral in korea/tiktok. It's first 2/3 weeks was terrible. (plus itzy went viral at the same time so maybe they propped each other up. Sneakers/Pop both tanked then went viral). Considering it has been 2 years since her debut and nothing she/twice has done since then has grabbed the public's attention not a surprise it's charting like pop originally did. Nayeon basically was out of the public's eye for 2 years and lost any momentum pop might have given her. Maybe she can go viral again with her bad dance break . If she wants an impactful solo career her best bet is ditching jype.

Supernova was a snoozer. Not bad, but I don't think anything about the song stood out compared to parts in Drama,Spicy, Next Level ect.

1. They're old products. The Kpop life cycle to stop putting as much effort/money into old groups when they're trying to build their new groups. Why put money into something old when the company will make more money off the group putting less effort in. 2. Contracts. I'm sure RV vs Aespa have different contract agreements just being 6 years apart. Over the years RV might have met with SM to have slight contract changes, hitting certain milestones might change clauses in the contract to favor the artists (i.e. you sell a certain amount you get a bigger profit %), I remember when Got7 left JYPE news articles came out of JYPE telling investors that not to worry about Got7 leaving cause Got7's contracts favored the artists earning more money than the company. It was said the Niziu's contracts favored the company's profit %, so their profit in Japan would offset Got7 leaving. 3. The idols involved move into solo activities after years of idol promotions. Probably benefits the artist and the company. Yoona doing a drama and getting CF deals seems like easy money for the company and she probably takes more money home than singing on stage.

I forgot about them. I just remembered Miss A pulled a hit out of nowhere after 3 years of doing mid (Touch and I Don't Need a Man remains their best work though!). What a time. everyone wanting to kick JYPE out of the big 3 for another company.

Not the first time it happened to them. They went through the same phase during like 2012 to 2015(whenever Only You then Cheer Up came out) They went from 2pm/2am/WG/Miss A all having hits to struggling on the charts(WG/Miss A in comparison to other girl groups at the time). Used to be a joke back in the day that their solo artists who flopped in JYPE would leave the company and immediately get a hit. They've always had a problem where if they're not on trend Korea just checks out on them and ignores them.

Pre tomboy I'd consider 4minute still ahead. Hot issue/What's Your Name are bigger than anything Idle did before 2022 and 4minutes lesser hits were equal/or bigger to Idle's songs up until Tomboy. I'd say they passed up 4minute with Tomboy-Nude-Queencard back to back. Gidle feels like a top main girl group. 4minute was like 6/7/8 in the gg hierarchy back in the day. A group to watch out for, but was a solid tier below the likes of 2NE1/SNSD ect. Discussion gets a little more complicated cause Hyuna's solo(duo) career ran right along side 4minute all those years. Feels weird to include in the discussion since they are separate, but also not with how intertwined they are. Hot Issue, Change, Bubble Pop, Troublemaker, Gangnam Style, What's Your Name, Now, Lots of CF Deals, Controversy. Even Hyuna's less successful stuff like Crazy, Red, Roll Deep are iconic and are more remembered than a lot of bigger hits. Hyuna had people talking every week between her styling, performances, music videos, commercials, or the Hyuna vs 4minute talks. She was a force back then. People downplay it now, but she was an It girl for many years. Not many idols were more talked about than her between the years 2010 to 2015/16.

They did the same thing with Mina. She was absent from the group for like a year, but still was in their MVs and recorded her vocal for the group.

Nothing bad about the debut just dull/boring. Vocal parts weren't memorable. Raps didn't hit. Mv was flash, but not a lot of substance. Could be worse could be better. For a debut it's alright, but hopefully they can find something that really works for them in a comeback or two.

Drama. Loud, but boring. Dreams Come True remains their best.
