RAYE - 'THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE.'
NOW THAT'S AN ALBUM. Honestly there hasn't been a body of work so cohesive in such a long time. I thought she's gonna serve borderline corny, but this over-dramatic camp thing REALLY works for her, and the arrangements are genuinely stellar. Her ability to cram thousands of words into a song needs to be studied more. Her prowess as producer is criminally underrated, this album breathes so well and like her first it has a million different sounds, some of which doesn't even make sense together but somehow she makes it all work.

LOL, why is this newsworthy? literally every other celebrity and their mama do it. Hell, everybody uses filter when you're about to post something...

Halle - 'love? or something like it'
BITE YOUR LIP. A MASTERPIECE. The delivery, the lyricsm, the EMOTIONS. the album is a cohesive effort, 'know about me' has that chart potential. and i'll say this one more time, I HATE how short songs are these days.

She is probably one of the most unique VOCALIST in this generation but without Chloe it's quite clear that her approach so far has been to throw noodles on the wall and see which sticks. Still quite intrigued of what she has under the sleeves, all the singles released so far don't sound cohesive at all.

Mariah Carey - 'Here For It All'
Certainly the highlight of the album, and perhaps her entire career. Melody and words wise. Been a while since she has such emotional delivery ( yes, even more than Portrait)

That's nice. Why don't you take your time to slowly delve into her discography? Obvious ones to check out are Mimi and Butterly. Once you do, you might start to understand why her die hard fans are a little bit frustrated.

Mariah Carey - 'Here For It All'
THIS. The music production is in this album is actually really good, but they didn't do justice to her vocals at all. The main point here is, FIRE whoever did the mixing on her vocals. A few songs would've benefited from a few more vocal takes too, super tight and shouty sounding like she wasn't ready OR simply wasn't warm enough. While her voice isn't as flexible as it used to be, I don't think this is an excuse. Caution was done with a similar vocal state as her current and that album has stellar vocal mixing when she's playing with her lower registers and full belt (Giving Me Life, One Mo Gen, Portrait)

I don't understand why they chose Play This Song as a single. Where is the goddamn hook?? and this Silk Sonic thing is tired chile. Sugar Sweet had a real summer potential and they fumbled it real hard. The album itself is good and mostly unsatisfying. Mariah's strength as a songwriter has always been crafting great song buildups, short songs don't work for her. Mi & Confetti and Champagne are SO GOOD but just when we get into them, they're over. There are some great songs here, but vocal production is quite unflattering at times.

NO HATE HERE. This has been a bittersweet listen. I love that she's creating new original materials, and I understand her voice is not what it used to be but damn how I miss her giving us a BIG ass climax and good bridges. Of course we got the glorious title tracks, but nothing apart from that. I really can't stand how short some songs are, they feel super unresolved. Confetti and Champagne and MI are SO good, but both feel unfinished. I Won't Allow It is probably the most interesting thing she has done in her career, but missing that Mariah flair in the vocal arrangement and harmonies I feel. I think they're trying to market her towards the adult radio, hence the whole album being very motown inspired, Play This Song as a single... it's safe and borderline boring, maybe it'll grow on me. I guess I was too hyped from waiting on her for 7 years and hearing her new vocals on recording will get abit of getting used to. I do pray this does well enough to birth a deluxe.

Mariah Carey - 'Here For It All'
Excatly. No disrespect here, but at this point it's unrealistic to expect her to sing like her prime years (imo it's the Daydream era). She was quite literally singing non stop in her 20s to 30s. I love that she's having fun creating songs that she wants to create while exploring different textures of her voice that she has in her toolbox now.

Her other Anderson Paak song, let's hope it's good!! I thought she was gonna give 'Mi' a single treatment…

Mariah Carey - 'Here For It All'
Abit sad about a few songs that aren't even 3 mins long. I'm sure this is done to fit today's music format :( Type Dangerous definitely needed another chorus. Oh well, I guess I'll wait another week to listen to the whole album as a body of work

ALL of em. The album is most likely gonna be a lovechild between EMC2 and Caution. Excited about Mi probably being Migrate's little sister. Nothing Is Impossible the BIG ballad and My Love, because when Mariah covers, she ALWAYS eats.

Sugababes - "Shook"
I wonder if the album will be delayed because none of the singles make an impact 🥲

i pre-ordered all 3 covers. Excited for the album! Anytime a legend of her caliber decides to bless us with her NEW non-christmas body of work, I'll come running with my money!

YAS to the sugar sweet solo. I always feel like she doesnt have alot of part in the trio version, and the song feels flat because of that. Excited to hear what she'll do on the arrangement, Cruise Control was THAT *****, I have high hopes for her little sister...

Mariah Carey - 'Here For It All'
You know she's gonna be EXTRA on that gospel song. She's gonna bring her best to sing with THEE Karen Clark Sheard. One of her earliest vocal inspirations. The woman basically shaped Mariah as an artist.

My Love is an interesting choice for a cover!! It's been a while since she covered a song. She finally gets to sing with her vocal inspiration, The Clark Sisters, SO EXCITED FOR THIS ALBUM!!!

Florence + The Machine - "Everybody Scream"
I wish the outro is actually the chorus and the pre-chorus is the outro. Shock value aside, the song is actually mid at best. I hope the rest of the album is good, we've heard way better materials coming from her.

Helen Mirren says James Bond 'has to be a guy' because a woman 'just doesn't work'
And she is not wrong at all... it's been an iconic character for years and why would gender swapping make it any better? Consuming art today is so much more complicated since everything has to be politically correct...
