This collab doesn't really move the needle either way and I don't think her team expected it to. She got the chance to work with an artist that she clearly admires and she jumped at opportunity. I personally wouldn't have done it but it is what it is and I think everyone is entitled to feel however they feel. Now moving on to her career... it's in the same place that it was last week and collabs won't help grow it unless she puts out her own music. If Candy Paint is the song they think will smash then they need to promote it for more than one week. The fact that RCA was trying to push another single doesn't make me feel great about how they may handle this.

I don't think she should wait. She should push it up a week and drop it on the 6th. Her team sucks at promoting after a song release so having a decent opening week would be ideal. Jack won't affect her numbers but Kendrick will because anything having to do with Normani will be drowned out and people will be saying that they didn't even know she had a new single

I was thinking Normani might drop her next single on the 13th and perform at the BBMA that Sunday but now with Kendrick dropping I think she might need to pick another day.

Based on Calvin's snippet and Normani's leak I see Normani's song doing better. Calvin's song sounds like something that would've been released in 2015/2016, but it might do well in Europe.

I think the black/ R&B audience is going to really determine what kind of numbers Normani gets. We tend to be more into album than singles so that may help her. I go to an HBCU and Wild Side was and still is huge here but I don't know if that will make people listen to her album.
