Y'all are crucifying him for tweeting he doesn't care about charts when we all know damn well he does. I don't think the tweet should be taken THAT seriously when we know what his stance on charts and accolades is deep down. Regarding Taylor, I did not say she's a hypocrite. I called it common sense that she wants her projects to go #1 (and uses whatever means she finds best to achieve it). And of course her situation isn't comparable to Abel's, who I repeat, just underperformed notably. I was more so talking about how stans act when their fave shows a certain behavior, as opposed to what they say when someone they dislike or don't care about does the same thing.

It's fair to drag him for his low sales (cause like I said he did underperform) But dragging him for actively seeking that #1 while cheering Taylor on as she does the same release after release is a little hypocritical. And that isn't even a Taylor drag. I love Taylor, her albums and 60 different versions of them. Artists trying to push their projects to #1 is literally the most common sense thing to do in the business.

This is definitely an underperformance and highkey a very embarrassing look for Abel. He got too confident and it backfired. The album is amazing and him and his team should've handled it differently. Even if I don't want to admit it I think this will serve as a much needed reality check for him. But why are my fellow Taylor stans dragging him for pushing different versions of the album as if she hasn't been doing it herself... for years? Why are y'all dragging this man for wanting to go #1 as if Taylor didn't change her RELEASE DATE just because Adele was gonna block her? And why are some people oblivious to the fact some of their faves have never seen (or will never see again) 150k units in a week? People have been quick to drag Abel in the past (Blinding Lights release) and look how that went. Hopefully he gets his **** together and is able to bounce back somehow.

So happy Encanto is getting the recognition it deserves. It's an amazing soundtrack.
