Marina made Electra Heart with big producers and gained somewhat mainstream success, since then she's been basically writing solo or working with smaller producers. Her contemporaries aren't the main pop girls. She's a successful indie artist, look at her Spotify monthly listeners. I've noticed an influx of hate too from Lana fans since she distanced herself from her. It's weird. People make unnecessarily cruel tweets because they're almost guaranteed to do numbers.

She's doing so well this era, so excited for this album and I can't get the song out of my head
