  1. The Smurf movie probably paid for the award simply to be used as an ad for the movie she clearly has no actual interest in this
  2. Also she’s simply answering a question that insinuates, hey the songs are super popular so you must be making tons of money off it. When in reality they only get a small fraction of the pie, which is probably not very much when you account for all the people involved in making songs. Hence she responds the way she did
  3. I watched this whole interview before this thread was created. This specific video only showed a small clip of an hour long interview. What this clip doesn’t show is that after this, she talked a lot about being grateful for the opportunity of being part of 5th Harmony and X factor. It gave her a way into the music industry, connections, a fanbase and opportunities she would’ve never had otherwise. The girls keep talking about their negative experiences during that time isn’t to say they are ungrateful for what it was. They are just trying to bring awareness into the ugliness and challenges that isn’t explicitly seen when it comes to being a celebrity/recording artist. There’s more to it beyond the glitz and the glamour. You have to keep in mind they may be the face and image of 5th Harmony, but literally everything about the girl group was all manufactured and created by multiple individuals outside the group including managers, labels, etc. and all for the goal of making money. So everything 5th Harmony portrayed I wouldn’t say Is necessary a reflection of who they were as individuals/humans. Also I wouldn’t say that the girls “hated’ Camila. I’m sure their relationship is more layered than that. I don’t think her wanting to leave was the issue. I imagine its more the way she handled things and her actions during that time was very frustrating for them. Also remember that at the time, they all were young girls. I do imagine the narrative that was being portrayed was being pushed by the media, and then their own team probably made decisions to push that narrative to try to capitalize on their situation (again to make money), but it seemed that more backfired or things came out cringe/tacky
  4. I’m surprised she is performing on American Idol. I wonder if ABC/Disney is going to force her to edit the lyrics, especially with suggestive lyrics like “take off all my clothes”. I haven’t actually seen it say anywhere that she will be performing this song
