Probably final Kelly Christmas chart update! Most of the charts have updated so these are likely the final chart peaks this season. Underneath the Tree Highlights, UTT hit top 10 in 14 official charts this year. The most ever for the song. And it reached new peaks in 8/14 of those markets. Santa, Can't You Hear Me SCYHM really gained momentum this year, reaching new peaks in 5 markets and managing to crack 4 new markets. Wrapped in Red New peak in Hungary and it's cracked the top 20 in the USA for the first time since 2013. It's peaked in the top 30 for the last 6-7 years but it finally managed the top 20 again. When Christmas Comes Around Given how this album under performed when initially released, I'm pleasantly surprised to see it rising on so many national charts and the fact it charts in more countries than WIR (though it's placements in it's countries are not as high as WIR's). It came close to getting a new peak in Canada and it was not far off from a new peak in the USA either. Given how this album keeps growing, I wouldn't be shocked if it gets new peaks in CAN/USA next year. Overall, what Kelly's managed to accomplish with her Christmas catalogue is quite amazing. She not only has managed to snag two recurring Christmas hits but both of her albums have continued to chart and grow each year as well. In fact, she's one of only two artists with multiple Christmas albums charting. The other being Pentatonix but they are doing it with two compilation/greatest hits albums (and their second entry is barely charting while Kelly's are both in the top 30). Speaking of two albums in the top 30, she's one of only two artists with multiple albums in the top 30 this week, the other one being Sabrina Carpenter.

Kelly's whole catalogue pulled 29M streams on Christmas Eve and she crossed the 8B mark on Spotify. Wrapped in Red was the 10th most streamed album on Christmas Eve When Christmas Comes Around was the 15th most streamed album on Christmas Eve

A few tabloids have been pushing the "Kelly is leaving her talk show" stories again but this time Hoda is set to replace Kelly as host of TKCS.

The video is a pleasant surprise. I knew it would be simplistic but I was expecting it to be cheap and half-assed. This was simplistic done right. Matches the energy of the song, and it looks like there was actual love and effort put into making the video. Kelly genuinely looks happy doing the video and showing off her personality as a performer. It elevated the song for me.

People are allowed to criticize sloppy decisions for reasons beyond "chart" details. Like, I'm sure Kelly would like for her music to be distributed as professionally as possible. Much smaller indie acts than her can get that stuff right.

This is fine, she sounds amazing, but it's ultimately forgettable. The main thing with this, and some of her recent material, is that there seems to be little focus on crafting engaging melodies. The focus has been on her showing off her vocals and improved lyricism. You can do "mature" and "grown up" music while also having a catchy melody. Soft-rock can have great and memorable melodies. Blues can have great and memorable melodies. Just because she's not doing pop anymore doesn't mean her songs have to be so forgettable when it comes to melody. Like, I've listened to this 6/7 times now and nothing sticks in my head outside the "I was wrong" climax and some of the guitar solo.

I'm guessing one off singles until she gets an album ready. Especially if the material she is working on is as diverse as she's saying it is. Dropping them as standalone songs might make more sense then trying to shoehorn them in on one whole project. It's pretty common nowadays for artists to have "droplet" eras in between full album cycles.

While not all national charts have been updated yet, here are the peaks for KC's Christmas Catalog in 2024 thus far. Underneath the Tree Overall, it went top 10 in 12 markets this year with new peaks in pretty much all of them. She also cracked the top 5 in two of those markets. Santa, Can't You Hear Me Overall, it had a pretty good showing considering it wasn't the active single this year. Wrapped in Red (album) Overall, I can see this album cracking the top 5 in The Netherlands next year if it keeps growing like it has. When Christmas Comes Around Overall, this album is now charting in more countries than Wrapped in Red is.

UTT also rises to new peaks in Austria - 6 and Germany - 5 respectively. And UTT made the year-end singles chart for 2024 in Germany.

Honestly, it's kind of weird how they do her. Sure, they do most artists of her gen badly but even compared to them Spotify gives her dust. I remember when I could view Spotify playlist reach that she had, by far, the least amount of playlist exposure out of her generation of pop girls. I had thought that the response that SUBG got after they pushed it high on the All Out 00s playlist might inspire more faith in them for Kelly but I guess not.

With Spain updating almost everyone's certifications today, Stronger (song) is now Gold there.
