  1. Individual immunity is back up for grabs! The challenge for Round 14 is... Simmotion Simmotion is a test of your concentration and focus. You will be responsible for managing multiple colored balls in your designated Simmotion channel on Discord. Every single minute, you will have to post the sequence of balls again. If your current minute sequence goes into the next minute, you will lose. When you are ready to begin, you will post Ball #1 in the channel. At the start of every single minute, you will post the Ball #1 image again. After five minutes, aka five ball posts, you will add Ball #2 into the mix. You must now post Ball #1 and Ball #2 within the same minute. Every five minutes, you will drop the next ball in. The maximum amount of balls you can have is 12. When you reach 12 balls, you must continue to post them for as long as you can. There is no break when you add a new ball; you must post it immediately after the previous ball. To make things more tricky, a four second flood control will be turned on. Not only do you have to stay organized and concentrate on what balls need to be posted, but you need to be as accurate as possible to avoid timing out due to flood control. You will be eliminated from the challenge if: - You miss/skip a ball post - Post your ball outside of the current minute window - Post the wrong numbered ball (they must be posted in order) Here is an example of how a posting sequence for this challenge may go. You might not need to follow this exact 5 second interval at first; but as the challenge progresses, it will become critical for you to adhere to the 5 second interval early in the minute, as you will run out of time on the other end of the minute. You are allowed ONE attempt to compete the challenge officially. You will also be given one hour to practice the challenge. To keep things even and fair, if you go over this hour, you will be penalized. The person who is able to stay focused and last the longest will win immunity and a spot in the Final Tribal Council! Here are the 12 colored balls: If you are curious to watch the real version... You will have ~28 hours to complete this, as it needs to be completed by 6 PM EDT at Tuesday, April 15th. Good luck!
  2. FINAL RESULTS Let's start it off with the people who JUST missed the top 4! Well actually, it was a decent gap, but anyways, those people are... NOW...who was our winner? Find out below (it was a diff of 1.75 between the 4 of them)!
  3. @thecptz Florence + the Machine - Shake It Out (Tired Face, Shovel, Broken Chain) - this is the song i immediately thought of when i read the theme. so yup. the first verse clearly showed tiredness! shovel and breaking chain are also linked in the song and yep bury all that **** and start breaking to FREEDOM! Arcane, Royal & the Serpent - Wasteland (Tired Face, Shovel, Leafless Tree) - i think like others said, for the tired face and leafless tree, you hit both of that pretty well. the song gave out the feeling of just super tired and i would link shovel to death too but then it's just not as prominent as the other two. cute tho. Alemeda - I Already Dug Your Grave (Tired Face, Shovel, Broken Chain) - i think this is a pretty nice submission! the shovel and breaking chain are represented super well in this song. i agree with rotunda, tiredness maybe not that clear! like i could see the link but it could be clearer! great submission tho, element's promo works. Lykke Li - I'm Good I'm Gone (Tired Face, Shovel, Broken Chain) - tbh the production kinda threw me off a bit lmao. i can see breaking chain linking to like the chorus. and she's putting in work but the relationship or whatever this is just doesn't work. but shovel is a bit too weak. Sam Cooke - Chain Gang (Tired Face, Shovel, Microphone) - well i could see the tiredness and shovel since it's probs due to him working and working all day despite wanting to go back home so i gotta give you that. but microphone? what??? lmaooo is it just bc he was SINGING downnnn??? lol ur so funny. Rachel Zegler - The Hanging Tree (Tired Face, Shovel, Leafless Tree) - yea i think this flops a bit. like i could see the tree and shovel being tied to death and like… TREE! but tired? i don't know i don't really get much tiredness from the song at all. Peter Gabriel - Digging in the Dirt (Tired Face, Shovel, Leafless Tree) - when there's other songs that did the same combo and slayed, this would be tanked a bit. like shovel and digging? duh. but i'm still trying to think about tired face and leafless tree? maybe tired as in begging that person to stay bc he needs support? i'm just confused. Alice Merton - No Roots (Tired Face, Shovel, Leafless Tree) - tbh i only got shovel from this. tiredness? she doesn't really seem tired in the song or the lyrics just couldn't convince me that she is tired. like she seems to be enjoying whatever that is going on for her right now. the leafless tree is also confusing. Final results up next!
  4. @Rotunda 1. I'm Good I'm Gone - The tiredness/shovel are expressed through the toiling, and the broken chain is expressed through her eventual leaving. Wasteland - The leafless tree is clearly represented in the lyrics through the concept of a wasteland where nothing grows. The face is symbolized through the tiredness associated with holding on. The shovel is the hardest to find a direct tie-in to, but the general toiling day in and day out matches up with this emoji. I Already Dug Your Grave - I don't get tiredness from this particularly (at least not the definition of tiredness that fits this emoji). Otherwise, this works well. Shake It Out - The broken chains are represented well, but this is a very emphatic song for the tired emoji. The bury that horse in the ground portion is fine for shovel. Chain Gang - Tiredness and the shovel work well enough as examples of the mental and physical exhaustion resulting from chain gangs. The mic only works to me if this is some kind of meta reference to the fact that chain gang members would often sing songs to each other…which I'm not fully certain I want to give credit for. The Hanging Tree - The tree works here literally, but you rank above Diggin in the Dirt because I also think a tree without leaves is a good metaphor for a tree that takes away life rather than gives it. I don't think the tired face or the shovel work that well here - and I struggle to link the shovel to a potential grave when the dead bodies are only discussed as being suspended in the air - not below ground. Diggin in the dirt - The shovel is represented extremely literally, but effectively. I don't think the other emojis are expressed well here. No Roots - A tree, by definition, has roots regardless of whether or not it has leaves. The speaker also seems too pleased with their life choices for the tired emoji to work for me here. thecptz's up next!
  5. @Gateau Lykke Li - I'm Good I'm Gone (Tired Face, Shovel, Broken Chain) - Yeah I totally get the idea with the whole exhausted, working thing and breaking the cycle by not answering the phone anymore. Though, I feel like the shovel could've been used in a more interesting way because the tired face already covered that feeling. Arcane, Royal & the Serpent - Wasteland (Tired Face, Shovel, Leafless Tree) - You would've been wayyyyyyy better off choosing the broken chain because of how poignant the "please let me go, go, go" lyric was. Otherwise I thought it was pretty straightforward and I can see what you were going for. Peter Gabriel - Digging in the Dirt (Tired Face, Shovel, Leafless Tree) - Uhhhh if I had to guess, I'd say the leafless tree is supposed to represent the barrenness of the relationship? But thats a stretch. The tired face doesn't really work here because this is an angry song, and the shovel is a little too on the nose which you were asked to avoid in the prompt… Alemeda - I Already Dug Your Grave (Tired Face, Shovel, Broken Chain) - I think she's tired of her ex but not tired in tone, this is an angry song. The broken chain works ig, but none of it is as poignant as the top 3. Florence + the Machine - Shake It Out (Tired Face, Shovel, Broken Chain) - This doesn't really give tired or shovel at all, unless shovel refers to working on yourself? I definitely feel like the broken chain works but thats where it ends. Alice Merton - No Roots (Tired Face, Shovel, Leafless Tree) - Lol, no. The leafless tree does not work for that purpose, but nice try. The tired face and shovel, used by every other contestant, is at its least meaningful here. Sam Cooke - Chain Gang (Tired Face, Shovel, Microphone) - I didn't think anything would be lower than that Alice Merton song but you proved me wrong, gg. The tired face and shovel was too literal for this purpose and the microphone served no purpose at all. Rachel Zegler - The Hanging Tree (Tired Face, Shovel, Leafless Tree) - I don't really get what the tired face has to do with all of this? I get the shovel, burying the dead and all, and the tree emoji is a little too on the nose for moi. Rotunda's up next!
  6. @Aurora I Already Dug Your Grave - Literally nail on the head. "The only way you'll change, only way you'll grow, is if you're six feet deep down a goddamn hole" is such a perfect lyric for this. She's sick and tired of this man, she's already buried him in her mind, and she's freeing herself of being chained to him. Plus, the song is a bop. Ate all the way in all directions. No Roots - Nailed the shovel and the leafless tree. One can assume she's tired from traveling like a [REDACTED] in the night, too. Quite a good submission all in all. Wasteland - The leafless tree is represented the strongest here. I get the tired face from "I've held on for as long as I can" and now she's had enough, although this perspective changes as the song progresses. I presume the shovel links to death, which is a bit of a stretch—it's the weakest link of the three, but I get what you were going for. The Hanging Tree - Should have sent the JLaw version. The leafless tree is represented the strongest here. Similar to the Royal & the Serpent song, shovel linking to death is passable enough for me, albeit it being a bit of a reach. One could argue she's tired because it's midnight, it's a bit of a leap in logic, but I can honestly get behind it. Shake It Out - The broken chain is represented the strongest here. "Tonight, I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground" is cute enough for the shovel. Tired face link is pretty loose. I'm Good, I'm Gone - The tired face is represented the strongest, yet it's still only tangentially. She's working hard, breaking her back, etc. so one can come to the conclusion she's physically exhausted. Broken chain representing freedom is a strong association, but this theme isn't strongly represented in the song. Shovel link is pretty loose. Digging in the Dirt - The shovel is represented the strongest here. Not getting a lot of influence from either the tired face or leafless tree, unfortunately. Chain Gang - The broken chain is represented the st- oh wait, that's not what you chose. What? I feel like all of these connections are super vague and loose to me. They could be tired, but we don't know. They could be digging, but we don't know. Mic for singing… sure, in a performing context? But not really a 'humming on the job' one. Gateau's up next!

  8. Individual immunity is back up for grabs... two of them as a matter of fact! The challenge for Round 11 is... Majority Rules This challenge is called Majority Rules. You will each have to fill out a survey with what you think the majority of the responders said. You will receive the survey on Discord. The person with the most points (most matching answers with the majority) wins individual immunity. BUT WAIT... THERE'S MORE. It wouldn't be Survivor without some chopping, right? For every question you get right (dependent on the order we ask the questions, which will be random), you will get the ability to chop down someone. SIX (6) chops and that person is out. The last person standing will also win individual immunity. A couple things: 1) Do NOT share or talk about your responses with ANYONE. It ruins the fun of the game and isn't allowed, and remember that it's an individual game! (there will be consequences) 2) The majority of people said that 7:30 PM EDT was the best time, so the live part of the challenge will commence then on Discord! Regardless if you're able to make it or not, please send us a list of how you'd like your chops to go (aka a chop list) in your Discord DMs with us. For example, this could say: Alternate between 1x Gateau, Luckystrike, and Staryu until they're out. Then move on to boys and Aurora. OR Gateau 2x Luckystrike 1x Staryu 1x until they're out. Then, alternate between boys 1x Aurora 1x until they're out. It truly could be anything you want it to be, just please let us know! Your responses are due in <20 hours... Saturday, April 5th at 6 PM EDT. Thanks!
  9. For tonight's immunity challenge, we're doing a little auction! Two individual immunity necklaces are up for purchase, as well as some other potential items (good and meh/not great)... The base amount for each of you in this auction will be 500 dollars. All boxes are COVERED. You will not know what is in each box. You will copy this list to place your bids in a new message in your Discord DM with the hosts: Box #1 Box #2 Box #3 Box #4 Box #5 Box #6 Box #7 Box #8 Box #9 Box #10 Box #11 Box #12 It is up to you on how you want to spend that 500 dollars. We will NOT be revealing who bought which item, or what was being sold in each box. The exception to this is individual immunity. TWO of the boxes have individual immunity for this round. If someone wins multiple necklaces, they will have the option to either keep the extra necklace(s) for themselves, or give it to another player. There are a couple stipulations though: 1. A box will go to the highest bidder UNLESS there is a tie. Then, it will go to the next highest unique bidder. For example, if Boys and Gateau both bid 500 on Box #1, neither of them will get it. Instead, it will go to luckystrike, who was the only person to bid 499 on it. If two people tie for the highest amount on a box, and no one else bids, then no one will receive the item. 2. Additionally, if more than one person doesn't get a box, then they can potentially lose their vote at an upcoming Tribal Council (decided by a randomizer, up to the final 7). However, they have the opportunity to earn it back by completing a challenge. That being said, if only ONE person doesn't get a box, then they'll lose a vote at an upcoming Tribal Council (also up to a randomizer, up to the final 7). People who lose their votes/don't get boxes will never be revealed to the group. YOU MAY NOT DISCUSS YOUR BIDS WITH OTHER PLAYERS. If someone does this, share the information with a host immediately. Understood? Submissions are due tomorrow at 7 PM EDT (~21 hours).

  12. Nick lose control habibi ya einy break the ice genesis ain't no other man gimme more let's get it started afrodisiac maneater apologize thriller let me know apologize: basically just piano and it's only a bit appealing due to the song being huge and everybody knowing how it sounds instrumentally break the ice: very appealing and intense. it has you on the edge of your seat wanting to continue listening to the song let's get it started: goes into the lizzo approach but it doesn't grab my attention as much. it's still good for an intro though! let me know: not interesting at all. I was left wanting more only because this gave the most nothingness ever that I wanted to feel something after it. genesis: very cool and intense. it definitely is giving what the prompt was asking for. habibi ya einy: I really like this! it grabbed my attention especially because it sticks out in a good way. an intro of 1:20 kinda feels cheap for this since it has more time than the other songs to intrigue the brain but it worked because I'm rating it high LOL afrodisiac: it's just humming with a timbaland beat so it's not that crazy to me but it's still a bit mysterious/interesting. I do like hearing the intro just because I like the song but putting that aside it's not super intriguing LOL gimmie more: definitely attention grabbing. I personally feel more from the break the ice intro but this is a good intro too. thriller: the intro just being a random ass jay z monologue?? and then the actual interesting part is once he stops talking and the intro ends LOL if this was have a boring intro into an attention grab once the intro ends you win. but it's not so you lose. lose control: 10/10 no notes. this IS how you do an intro. maneater: basically the same critique that I had for afrodisiac. I only feel something because I like the actual song. if I take away that bias, the intro just isn't giving much. like congrats you have a basic timbaland beat. the actual iconic part is when she starts singing after the intro ends. ain't no other man: her vocals are intriguing enough in this to make you want to keep listening. definitely attention grabbing. Richelle 1. maneater 2. ain't no other man 3. lose control 4. lets get it started 5. genesis 6. apologize 7. gimme more 8. afrodisiac 9. break the ice 10. Habibi ya einy 11. thriller 12. let me know apologize - the intro for this is honestly really beautiful and does make me want to hear more but that could be because i just know what comes next and love the song. break the ice - kind of a standard pop intro for me. lets get it started - oh **** yes. honestly pausing the song after the intro almost feels like a crime because it really pulls you in. let me know - 100% no. genesis - **** i ******* love this song but it honestly gets better after the intro.. like the intro kinda the weakest part especially by itself. Habibi ya einy - not really gripping me? i kind of felt a bit bored. afrodisiac - love the ascending vocals and it's pretty but i don't think it was engaging. gimme more - i mean.. it's Britney ***** + the giggle is iconic but like genesis, the intro isn't that good. thriller - i don't rly know what about the intro would be special. lose control - oooohh lord that bassline and upbeat tempo is sooo insane. i love. maneater - this is actually the song i thought of for this round :sob: its perfect. especially the last drum beat. aint no other man - yes yes yes. perfection no notes. rl231 1. Let's Get It Started - HONESTLY, I love this one unabashedly. It has everything I needed for an intro. 2. Ain't No Other Man - Bombastic, wild, kinda perfect, but not AS good as the #1. 3. Lose Control - Legendary intro. But also, it truly helps build to the first verse and gets me excited. 4. Maneaster - Ngl I was disappointed when you sent this because Say It Right is right there. That being said…compared to everything else, this is much better for me. 5. Apologize - I prefer the original! That being said, it's still a solid intro that does build nicely into the song, especially with the chords in the beginning. 6. Let Me Know - Weirdly, this grew on me. I could not tell you why because I couldn't stand it and then it stuck with me, so I gotta give props. 7. Gimme More - I'm not crazy about spoken intros, and I think while "It's Britney, *****" is a great line. I hate what happens after. The beat saves it a TON, but…idk, probably not my vibe. 8. Genesis - Risky! I do love a great drum intro, but I wanted more variation from it. 9. Afrodisiac - I wanted to like this so much more than I actually did! It was just…there for me and didn't really bring me into the rest of the song. 10. Habibi Ya Einy - I totally get what you were trying to do here, but I don't think it was successful, and you missed the mark unfortunately. Length, for me, wasn't really an issue, but I think it could've been stronger overall. 11. Thriller - When you submitted this, I was so excited for a FOB entry, but this wasn't great. I think if you did a different song (like Sugar, We're Goin Down), then I think you could've fared much better here because there isn't much happening in the intro. 12. Break the Ice - I'm so sorry, I absolutely hated this. The spoken word intro was just not my thing here and was stupid cringe. I guess it's her signature but I don't think it fully works, and I would've preferred what came in the latter third of the intro. Seffers 1) Lose Control 2) Ain't No Other Man 3) Break The Ice 4) Genesis 5) Let's Get It Started 6) Gimme More 7) Maneater 8) Afrodisiac 9) Apologize 10) Let Me Know 11) Habibi Ya Einy 12) Thriller Apologize - This is a very one-dimensional intro. It doesn't have that wow factor, that punch to really get me engaged and hooked into the song. I think the piano is nice, but nothing more beyond that. Not outstanding, not horrible. Break The Ice - Oh, this is divine. There are several elements to this intro which grabs me right away. The use of the choir vocals behind Britney's spoken part works great, and teases the song to go in one direction of a style of song, and then the beat drop hits and we're thrown into the actual style of the song. Very great selection. Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) - From millisecond one this had my interest. Fergie's run with no instrumental is immediately engaging, and then the harmonies build upon themselves under the growing bass instrumental. A great selection. Let Me Know - The fact the spot you chose to cut off this intro is when my interest in the song peaked tenfold kind of sums up my thoughts about this. The intro was incredibly dull - nothing to pull me in. A very poor selection. Genesis - The intensity! The percussion! The horns! I enjoyed this selection. There's a seriousness about this, almost like boss battle music, that is really pulling me in and I actively wanted to listen to the rest of the song. Habibi Ya Einy - so firstly, let's tackle the semi-elephant in the room. This is way too long for an 'intro'. this is legit over 1/4 of the song. This is completely missing the point of this challenge imo, so we're already off to a rough start for me. With that out of the way, let's tackle the selection itself. I think you picking such a large time actually has hurt you - because we've already got a feel for a majority of the elements of this song. It's pretty, but I'm not extremely drawn in for wanting the rest of the song since I have heard so much already. Afrodisiac - This is an okay-ish selection - there's substance here that intrigues me (the vocal melody is really cool), but the whole package is just okay for me. It needs that extra last oomph, that catalyst to really pull me in. Gimme More - ah yes, the ever-so iconic 'It's Britney, *****!' line. This is a nice selection. Between that opening line, the video-game style instrumental, and the whispered lines throughout the intro - this one definitely pulls me in and I want to know more about how the song will go. Thriller - pardon my french - but what the actual **** is this choice? This is so bad on several levels. Firstly, we're picking an intro that .. just features a guitar and a spoken monologue.. okay?? That does not make me engaged to this song or wanting more from it at ALL. Then, if that wasn't bad enough, the literal second you chose to cut off is when it actually gets interesting and pulls me in. Completely bombed this for me. Lose Control - no notes. This is perfection. This IS engaging. This intro has so many electric sounds - it really pulls me in. Also, the intro listing off all the artists is so fun too - it shows you who is on this (if you didn't know .. somehow!). I am HOOKED. Maneater - A solid pick overall, although I do feel you leaned a little into us taking into consideration of already knowing the song as a whole. The positive first: There's a mysterious dance-y vibe to the intro, that really wants me knowing more of how the song will go. However, and what several of you have run into this round - is this missing variety, that extra layer to make it really PUNCH. The intro doesn't really do justice to how much this song explodes and pulls the listener in. Ain't No Other Man - not to sound like a carbon copy of my BEP review, but this also had my attention millisecond one. The second you hear that run you IMMEDIATELY know this is a Christina song, and the instrumental is SO soulful - that saxophone is to DIE for. a job well done diva. wehavetostan Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize (0:00 - 0:15): it just seems like a regular ballad, not very intriguing Britney Spears - Break the Ice (0:00 - 0:15): I like how inviting the song is! Definitely makes me want to continue listening Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) (0:00 - 0:19): i loved how the harmonies built up! Fergie also sounds great Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know (0:00 - 0:31): I dislike the reverb on her vocals but I'd still listen for another 10 seconds Justice - Genesis (0:00 - 0:38): felt like it came straight out of Star Wars, would want to hear more of it Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy (0:00 - 1:20): this was so much fun! Although this was a pretty long intro compared to the others, but I was still captivated within the first 25 seconds Brandy - Afrodisiac (0:00 - 0:20): it just felt like the producer took Brandy's laugh and played it on a loop… still would listen for 5 more seconds but would probably skip Britney Spears - Gimme More (0:00 - 0:20): this is so enough to the other songs because it is such an iconic intro Fall Out Boy - Thriller (0:03 - 0:22): The lyrics are inviting and it's definitely something I'd wanna continue playing!! Missy Elliott - Lose Control (0:00 - 0:19): This is good! Quickly gets you into the mood of the song Nelly Furtado - Maneater (0:00 - 0:15): Based off the intro only, I don't think it that intriguing. It gets much better right after the 0:15 second mark 😭 Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man (0:00 - 0:17): Love the sax in this… but Christina is always so loud. Good intro still though Britney Spears - Gimme More Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy Britney Spears - Break the Ice Fall Out Boy - Thriller Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) Missy Elliott - Lose Control Justice - Genesis Nelly Furtado - Maneater Brandy - Afrodisiac Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize We'll calculate the averages next!
  13. Desire Missy Elliott - Lose Control Britney Spears - Gimme More Brandy - Afrodisiac Justice - Genesis Britney Spears - Break the Ice Nelly Furtado - Maneater Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy Fall Out Boy - Thriller Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize (0:00 - 0:15) The intro was just a piano? A nice beat but yet nothing really that captivating for me. Nostalgia could have won you points but this is all about captivating intros and I fear those first 15 seconds did not win me over. Britney Spears - Break the Ice (0:00 - 0:15) Wooo this is how you captivate someone from the start. The spoken intro slowly leading into the beat. Chefs kiss Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) (0:00 - 0:19) Love a high note to start a start and the continuous "running" kept me wanting to continue listening to see where it would go. Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know (0:00 - 0:31) "I turned the other way" oh girl so did I since I can only base this off the first 31 seconds and it wasn't giving anything good. Song started getting captivating at the 32 second mark. Justice - Genesis (0:00 - 0:38) Oooo this is cinematic and ominous. You've got my attention. Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy (0:00 - 1:20) Now why were you allowed such a long intro? Regardless I was captivated a bit. Brandy - Afrodisiac (0:00 - 0:20) Loveeee this. Different compared to other submissions and yet got my attention. 0:10 onwards I was moving. Britney Spears - Gimme More (0:00 - 0:20) "It's Britney *****" ICONIC even as a new listener you can't deny it's a great opener especially with the beat immediately kicking in afterwards. Wanted, no needed to keep listening. Fall Out Boy - Thriller (0:03 - 0:22) Hmm this just didn't do it for me I fear. It was missing that captivating moment that other entries had. Missy Elliott - Lose Control (0:00 - 0:19) Oh we're so up!!! Caught my attention from the 0:00 mark. Just had to keep playing the song. Nelly Furtado - Maneater (0:00 - 0:15) This was cute. Captivating enough to make me continue listening. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man (0:00 - 0:17) Cute but it's kinda also expected from her to start songs like this so I can't really say if this would make me want to continue listening. Dessy Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) Britney Spears - Gimme More Justice - Genesis Missy Elliott - Lose Control Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man Nelly Furtado - Maneater Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize Britney Spears - Break the Ice Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know Brandy - Afrodisiac Fall Out Boy - Thriller Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize This was a nice and easy introduction. Quite inoffensive yet it doesn't make me want to hit skip at all. Britney Spears - Break the Ice The spoken introduction almost killed my interest right away. It's not bad, it's playful, short, and sweet. But if I'm here for the song for the first time, this didn't sell me on it. The background vocals really helped it out as well as the rest of the intro instrumental so I'm definitely not skipping on to the next song. I just wish that spoken part was stronger at igniting my interest as opposed to reducing it. Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) This was perfect IMO. A nice singing line, then the immediate repetition and that crescendo that really just grab and take you for the ride. I want more and I want it now! Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know One thing with 100% pure singing intros is that I don't get any sense of where the instrumental is going to go, if it does go anywhere at all. Her vocals sound quite nice but not nice enough to keep it playing for me. Justice - Genesis This intro got the interesting factor for sure. It doesn't sound like a type of song I would like but I really can't deny the pull of wanting to hear more. Where will this beat go? What will the vocals sound like? A good setup! Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy I'm a bit confused on the intro length provided as it didn't take nearly as long to secure my attention (20 seconds mark). This was a fun intro regardless. I can easily find myself just letting it play out. Brandy - Afrodisiac Not a strong intro at all. The first line is the only saving grace but not nearly enough to sustain my interest. Britney Spears - Gimme More I wonder if this song was highly sought after because that beat alone is just infectious. I'm also biased towards any sort of intro from an artist that knows that they're hot ****. You got an irresistible beat aided by that confidence, why wouldn't I want to hear more? Perfect! Fall Out Boy - Thriller You gave us nothing of note so I will note nothing. Missy Elliott - Lose Control Another great intro. It got that immediate repetition over a nice beat. Introducing the artists on the track with the beats of the song will always be a big plus to me. Nelly Furtado - Maneater Like Gimme More, that beat is strong enough to pull me in. But there's nothing else to really set it apart. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man Sounds like the beginning of an epic. I like that this briefly highlighted the artist's vocals. The beat kicking in finalized my interest to keep playing. Well done. Devon Missy Elliott - Lose Control Britney Spears - Gimme More Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man Britney Spears - Break the Ice Justice - Genesis Nelly Furtado - Maneater Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy Brandy - Afrodisiac Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize Fall Out Boy - Thriller Missy Elliott - Lose Control An actual hype man HYPING UP the song. I desperately wanted to finish the song. Britney Spears - Gimme More Completely removing my bias.. This intro is incredible. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man oh this ate me up.. Everything was perfectly placed to hype the listener up. Britney Spears - Break the Ice This eats! I'm totally pulled in and wanna hear more. Justice - Genesis Lowkey had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see where this was going… definitely edged me Nelly Furtado - Maneater I will say Timbaland's.. vocal work.. here.. is better than the other one. His hey's actually pulled me in a bit. Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) I think this is a good entry, but just a little basic compared to some of the knockouts here. Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy It takes a long time to get to the event and it's not that exciting. Brandy - Afrodisiac This was cute, but overall not too appealing and kinda sounds like a generic beat. Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know I don't think I would continue listening after this intro. Just not strong enough to warrant anything higher than this placement. Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize This was not appealing at all and actually didn't move me to listen to the rest. Fall Out Boy - Thriller I'm not feeling this one. Element Missy Elliott - Lose Control - When your DM came in with this entry, I immediately knew that you would run away with first place. There's absolutely no other intro that sounds like this. True innovation that immediately builds your excitement for an anthem. Britney Spears - Gimme More - I honestly think that if this was Britney's debut single, the opening 2 seconds of this song would have propelled her into superstardom. It would have been enough to instantly capture the attention of 96% of gays worldwide on iTunes previews. An immediate call to the dancefloor, we are faced with an assured and hypnotic beat that wastes no time. The intro is perfectly balanced by her sultry taunts and mischievous giggle. Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) - There are two things that will always gag me in a song: key changes and harmonies. The beautiful five (??) part harmony had me hooked. I wanted MORE! Fergie's vocal run at the very start is great too. Two dynamic segments that make for an excellent intro. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man - What I love about this intro is you don't have a single doubt who this is, even with your eyes closed. She doesn't have to say her name or even a single word. The acrobatic vocal crescendo screams "listen to me!" Definitely makes you want to see what else she will deliver. Brandy - Afrodisiac - I love that this one is a bit more subtle, gently greeting us to the song before Timbaland's wonky beat kicks in. The melodic "ha ha ha" is unique and I would definitely want to hear what comes next. Britney Spears - Break the Ice - Definitely pales in comparison to Gimme More, but it's still solid. I wish the instrumentation had a little more time to build before the first verse kicked in. Nelly Furtado - Maneater - It's fun and fresh! It doesn't really have that extra spark that some of the top entries have. I think this could have benefitted from a few spoken phrases or vocal harmonies to make it pop (shout-out rl231). Justice - Genesis - It's kind of giving horror movie monster intro scene from a 1950s black and white film. Cool and unique, but a bit too cyclical to really "build" to something – especially when the next section is also instrumental. Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know - I don't mind this, but I think she could have achieved her goal in half the time. If I heard this on a random playlist, I think I probably would not have returned. There wasn't any notable melodic variation to make you excited or anticipate the rest of the song. Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy - A very unexpected and refreshing entry! I actually really liked the vibe, but I struggled to identify the intro explicitly on my own. If your timestamp ended at 0:22, I actually think that I would have ranked this higher. Instead, the delineation between the intro and the rest of the song became blurry, with lyrics and instrumentals that felt like the verses had begun. Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize - This is a nice vibe, but it's nothing special. Fall Out Boy - Thriller - The way that the guitar after 0:22 is more interesting than the actual intro… I have zero interest in listening to the rest of the song after this. A snooze. Kyuti 1. Missy Elliott - Lose Control 2. Britney Spears - Gimme More 3. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man 4. Nelly Furtado - Maneater 5. Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) 6. Britney Spears - Break the Ice 7. Brandy - Afrodisiac 8. Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize 9. Justice - Genesis 10. Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy 11. Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know 12. Fall Out Boy - Thriller 1. Lose Control - ABSOLUTELYYY you devoured. 2. Gimme More - Really solid submission you ate that. The beat comes in so strong and with the addition of the iconic ''It's Britney *****!'' how could you not want to listen to the rest of the song?? 3. Ain't No Other Man - YUP. YUP. The saxophone at the beginning, Xtina's powerhouse vocals, and the cute little ''Do your thing honey'' is SO engaging. 4. Maneater - I LOVE the build up with the beat and also the vocals in the background, pulls me in and makes me want more from the jump. 5. Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) - I've always loved the intro to this song honestly, not the strongest here but it's definitely enticing and makes me want to continue listening to it. 6. Break the Ice - Definitely not as strong or engaging as Gimme More but this is still very nice. 7. Afrodisiac - This is okay! The vocals are interesting enough. 8. Apologize - Kinda boring, sorry. The piano is cute though 9. Genesis - I wasn't really interested until the actual song itself started playing, that beat eats. 10. Habibi Ya Einy - This intro unfortunately doesn't really pull me in at all sorry, I'd comment on the length of the intro but the other judges are whacking you enough I fear. 11. Let Me Know - Doesn't make me feel engaged at all, this was kind of just.. there. 12. Thriller - Nothings really happening?? The random monologue I guess but other than that this is a really weak submission baby, good luck. 5 more judges to go!
  14. Hyune/Alldeezy 1. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man 2. Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize 3. Brandy - Afrodisiac 4. Britney Spears - Break the Ice 5. Justice - Genesis 6. Nelly Furtado - Maneater 7. Britney Spears - Gimme More 8. Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) 9. Missy Elliott - Lose Control 10. Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know 11. Fall Out Boy - Thriller 12. Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy Apologize: even back in 2008 I always loved the intro to this and still great, really one of my favourite piano instrumental. Break the ice: this song is very underrated and the intro really gives you the vibe to keep listening, i love it Let's get it started: Fergie part I never was big on but the keep the beat running probably is the best part of the song. Let Me Know: the intro is weak, I feel the song picked up afterwards but intro itself made me want to press skip. Genesis: Really loved this, gave me a vibes for a movie or game but kept me interested. Habibi Ya Einy: It's unique i'll just say that Afrodisiac: I wasn't feeling it but once the beat hit in around :09 I was feeling it and ended up enjoying the track itself. Gimme More: One of my favourite songs, the britney ***** is probably the most iconic intro ever. But probably not as strong as the other entries. Thriller: Now I love fall out boy but the song didn't get good till 0:24, that intro actually made me want to skip. There are better fall out boy intros out there. Lose Control: always found this song a little annoying but the intro probably was the only good part of the song :,) Maneater: one of the best songs ever, but the outro eats the intro in this song. Like I rather skip to the last 40 seconds of this track. Ain't No Other Man: Perfect, the classic Jazz vibes, her vocals, everythinabout this intro and song was perfect <3 Armani 1. Gimme More 2. Ain't No Other Man 3. Let's Get It Started 4. Lose Control 5. Break The Ice 6. Genesis 7. Afrodisiac 8. Habibi Ya Einy 9. Maneater 10. Apologize 11. Thriller 12. Let Me Know Timbaland - Apologize - I like this song but there's nothing "that" explosive or engaging about the intro, it's just regular piano playing lol. I'm assuming you zeroed in on the vocal adlibs but it's still not a great pick for me. Britney Spears - Break The Ice - I think this was better, the vocal spoken word and the synths? stand out. Blackeyed Peas - Let's Get It Started - Not a fan of this song particularly but this definitely immediately grabs you in the beginning. Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know - This is a mega flop and by far the worst , why did you submit this? It takes too long to pick up. Justice - Genesis - This isn't bad at all, it grabs you more in a traditional kind of way, like Im watching a movie. But you cut out the best part…. Nourhanne - Habibi Ya Einy - This is cool but wayy too long for this intro. It's definitely not that good for the length provided. Brandy - Afrodisiac - This is a decent intro Britney Spears - Gimme More - The winner so far for me, it just stands out so much from the 1st vocal line followed with the beat drop. Fallout Boy - Thriller - Why wasn't this extended to the 26 second mark? Lmao, welp another flop Missy Elliott - Lose Control - Oh, you did a great job with this pick, yes. Very immediate and makes you look for the dancefloor Nelly Furtado - Maneater - It's alright, a bit too light Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Woman - The vocals in this intro definitely stand out led by the instrumental , so another great submission. Auburn Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man: personally this is the only submission that fully nails the theme for me. The instruments are building up to something that really feels like it introduces the song, the artist AND the era, and then the artist also introduces herself vocally. Perfect. Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know: I really like this intro, it's effective, the reverb adds something to it, and the piano sets the rest of the instrumental up to begin. Very teasing, great choice imo! Britney Spears - Break the Ice: this is good, her spoken words make you want to know more about what's coming, adequate but I'm not blown away Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix): good! I think a bit more production/instrumentation would have really taken this one to the next level Britney Spears - Gimme More: this one is really relying on the iconicness of the spoken word portion imo, after the first couple beats the instrumental isn't really introducing the song in a special way Nelly Furtado - Maneater: adequate, again here the instrumental isn't really doing anything special to introduce the song so we're completely relying on the vocals only, which are good but not exceptionally interesting Brandy - Afrodisiac: love the way the vocals fade in, the instrumental starting also adds to it but also kinda gives away the entire rest of the song from here on out so I'm not entirely sold on this for the intro alone Justice - Genesis: it's good, but to me it kinda goes on for too long in a way that becomes repetitive, and sounds like it's about to be very noisy once the actual song comes in Missy Elliott - Lose Control: the instrumental intro is just the literal instrumental we hear thru the rest of the song, idk this could have done more for me Fall Out Boy - Thriller: huh? idk man what in the world is supposed to draw me in about this sorry but at least Jay-Z is hyping something up Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize: huh? there is literally nothing captivating or special about this intro wtf Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy: okay so my issue with this entry is the submitter not the song itself, if you had just chosen the first 30 seconds (which easily works as an intro) instead of the first third of the song I might have been more inclined to give you a chance. FAIL! Aurora 1. Gimme More - You won this round within the first two seconds. "It's Britney, *****!" had the entire world in a chokehold. Tore. 2. Lose Control - Absolutely brilliant submission. From the jump you know this song is gonna be a banger kept in heavy rotation. 3. Ain't No Other Man - Oh, absolutely, absolutely. This is similar to the Lizzo/BEP offerings, but with much better vocals. Legend X ate. 4. Maneater - "Say It Right" would have been a stronger choice, but this stacks up well in this playlist. Best Timbaland intro. 5. Break the Ice - It's cute, works well. The contrast of the angelic/choir-like vocals into the electronic synths is definitely intriguing. 6. Afrodisiac - You had a similar approach to the "Apologize" sender, however you definitely picked a stronger option than them. 7. Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) - It's fine, similar contextually to Lizzo's example intro, only with less powerful vocals and bombastic production. 8. Apologize - Timbaland was a good choice, but not this song. It's a simple piano intro, nothing special or exciting whatsoever. 9. Thriller - I think the sentiment is nice, but musically it doesn't really grip me, or provide any insight into the actual song. 10. Genesis - Similar to the Róisín song, it wasn't until the highlighted portion was over that I heard anything I would return to. 11. Let Me Know - The ten seconds that followed this intro did more to make me want to continue listening than the chosen portion. 12. Habibi Ya Einy - I think you missed the memo. A song shouldn't need a whole minute and a half to grip you (and did not anyway). Bryce 1. Britney Spears - Gimme More (0:00 - 0:20): pretending ive never heard this song is hard but i genuinely believe i am and i still think its just THAT good of reeling u in as it begins 2. Missy Elliott - Lose Control (0:00 - 0:19): it takes ur attention immediately with a hard hitting punch amazing choice 3. Britney Spears - Break the Ice (0:00 - 0:15): this was kinda instantly captivating and had my attention 4. Brandy - Afrodisiac (0:00 - 0:20): okay this was kinda good actually like she sang papi and my ears piqued 5. Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started (Spike Mix) (0:00 - 0:19): this is kinda a good intro mostly bc Fergie sounds like Alicia keys and im interested 6. Nourhane - Habibi Ya Einy (0:00 - 1:20) this is hard to judge bc i do enjoy the first third of this song that uve decided is the intro but like the length of it is kinda off putting for this theme 7. Nelly Furtado - Maneater (0:00 - 0:15): like i think its right after the 15 second mark that i actually start FEELING it 8. Timbaland, OneRepublic - Apologize (0:00 - 0:15): this gave me nothing honestly like a prettyish but boring piano intro isn't gonna make me wanna hear whats coming next 9. Roisin Murphy - Let Me Know (0:00 - 0:31): she was just kinda talking and i got super bored 10. Justice - Genesis (0:00 - 0:38): not a fan of this intro actually like wasn't til like 43 when the beat rly came in that i was like wait... i hear sth 11. Fall Out Boy - Thriller (0:03 - 0:22): quite literally the exact opposite of what i would want in a song to make me listen to it like youll never make it big!!! 12. Christina Aguilera - Ain't No Other Man (0:00 - 0:17): so i forgot the first two songs of this playlist weren't submissions so i had a rly mean one written Lizzo but it fits here instead so just know being loud is not likeable or wanted or needed Next 5 judges...
  15. ROUND 9 RESULTS Welcome castaways to your 9th challenge and your FIRST individual immunity one! The judges only saw the songs/times but not who sent them, and they ranked you all from 1-12. We also asked them to act as if they don't know the song. Thank you to all of our judges for taking the time out of their days to do this: @Hyune @Armani. @Auburn @Aurora @brycehooha @Desire @Dessy @DevonRoars @Kyuti @Touch It @richelle @Seffers @wehavetostan AND...myself and Element! 16. Castaways, welcome to the ninth challenge of Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 15) and your FIRST as a merged tribe!! Before we get started with the challenge, we wanted to preface something. We are now at the MERGE phase of this game. What this means is that this has now become an individual game, and there'll be NO MORE TRIBES! You will be playing for yourself (which you should've been doing anyways), and you'll also be going to Tribal Council all together, where you will have to vote someone out every round until we get to the Final Tribal Council. The jury at the Final Tribal Council will vote for a winner, based on their social, strategic, and physical game (amidst other things). There will be twists and DIFFERENT challenges, meaning variation (not JUST sending in songs anymore, it literally is many different types of challenges) and some non-music-based challenges (variety!!) are upon us. Buckle up! Now, onto the challenge... The theme for Round 9 is: Welcome To My... This round, we are focusing on the intros of songs. Your job is to find an intro that you believe kicks the song off in an engaging manner, that draws the listener in and leaves them wanting more. Vocals and production can be taken into consideration. The judges will rank all the entries, instead of rating them out of 10. The panel will not be judging based on how well we like the song; rather, they will focus on how interesting the intro is and how well it makes the listener want to check out more of the song. For example, some great songs have weak intros; so just because your song is great, it will not guarantee a high mark. If you land in the top 3 of the final rankings, you will be IMMUNE from Tribal Council and cannot be voted out. A few song requirements: 1) The songs you choose must be released in 2003-2007. 2) The songs do NOT need to be the intro track of an album. We are focused on the introductory seconds of individual songs. 3) The intro must be 15 seconds long at a minimum. 4) The intro must be distinct from the first verse. It cannot overlap. Please DM us on Discord the Spotify link, as well as the time stamp of the intro for it to be considered a full, official entry. If you only do part of this, it will be incomplete and can be taken by someone else. What To Do: Once your song is selected, DM both of the hosts the artist and title of your song, as well as the times of the intro and a link. You don't have to include a link to the song unless you are sending a specific version of it. There's no explanation needed as your song should speak for itself. If your song requires an explanation to make sense, it's not a good fit. We encourage you to send a back-up choice along with your first pick. This applies especially to those who are not around when a round is posted and don't have the luxury of choosing an instant track. As always, you CANNOT change your song once you submit. Take Into Consideration: The panel will judge the audio/lyrics of the track you submit. Music videos will not increase or decrease your score. The song you choose should display the theme upfront. An interview with your artist will not be taken into consideration. Both hosts have selected an example for this round (disclaimer: these are from the first iteration of this, which was 2018 to 2023!)! My Example: "Cuz I Love You" by Lizzo This intro kicks off the song in a bombastic fashion, showcasing Lizzo's vocals and a stomper of a production. It keeps you in and makes you want to hear the rest of the song. @Element's Example: "Welcome To My Island" by Caroline Polachek This intro is incredibly memorable and layered, with Caroline treating us to powerful vocals and exceptional high notes. If I heard this first 20 seconds on New Music Friday, I would definitely stick around for more because it's so unique and engaging!! You have until 8 PM EDT on Monday, March 31st (~23 hours). Good luck!

  18. SHABDA Contestants Song britilly Hunter Hayes - Everybody's Got Somebody But Me Luckitty Olivia Rodrigo - All I Want petty Conchita Wurst - Where Have All The Good Men Gone Poki Michelle Branch - Where Are You Now? Hunter Hayes - Everybody's Got Somebody But Me Gateau - 3 - Ummm no. THis is not a song about wanting to find high quality people and being extremely desperate about that, this is a song about missing his ex and being annoyed he's alone luckystrike - 2 - This is about him being aware of how everyone is in a relationship but him and then missing his ex because of it. Really? Rotunda - 5 - The title is more fitting than the song itself. This isn't really about his inability to find any person as much as it's about his inability to get one specific person. thecptz - 7.5 - plsss i was vibing w him hard back then… i love crazy, wanted, and then this song, all bops. I think this fits for the most parts. I am concerned about how it kinda seems like he can't get over his ex yet but the message overall was still about wanting to find someone so i think it's enough. Olivia Rodrigo - All I Want Gateau - 9 - This works. luckystrike - 9 - I wish it had more detail but overall it hits all the marks. Rotunda - 9 - This hits the right notes, but girl it's two breakups. You didn't even try that hard. thecptz - 9 - yuppp another great pick! This song is so musical like i can just picture whats happening when listening to this lmao. nice! Conchita Wurst - Where Have All The Good Men Gone Gateau - 8 - Totally misses the mark on the extreme frustration.. luckystrike - 8 - She is definitely frustrated at men being **** but I wish it had some sort of conclusion, is she gonna wait? Is she gonna stay alone? Is she gonna keep looking? It's kind of more than halfway there, but not fully there. Rotunda - 9.5 - Could use a bit more in terms of confirming that they think they'll be alone forever. thecptz - 10 - this is so fun! I think it's kinda like slim pickins too like it's fun and it shows frustration so i'm all in with this. period!! Michelle Branch - Where Are You Now? Gateau - 7 - This is missing the part on finding a high quality man, or what that means to her. The longing for someone is there, but the others? Not really. luckystrike - 4 - To me, it's not very clear if she's looking for a particular person or just referring to someone she doesn't know yet as "you", and also she never mentions anything about the quality of the people she's looking for. Rotunda - 7 - There's not really enough about scarcity here. Michelle wants love, but it's hard to say whether she's actually searched deliberately for men and has come up short. thecptz - 9.5 - another great pick from this round! Nice and fits the brief so yippee. RASA Contestants Song CBC Pam Tillis - All the Good Ones Are Gone Choosey Lover Heavy D & The Boyz - Somebody for Me supaspaz Ophilia - Dating Pool Tyler Chante Moore - Searchin' Pam Tillis - All the Good Ones Are Gone Gateau - 9 - Not the mom calling This works kinda okay but we're missing what qualities the 34 year old is looking for. It kinda hits on those points but not reeeeaaallly, you know? luckystrike - 10 - Love, there's frustrations about the good men being gone, the feeling of doubt or worry if she should have stayed with the one she had when she was younger, and in the end she just goes out with her girlfriends to have some margaritas and carry on. Exactly queen. Rotunda - 9.5 - There's something missing here, maybe a bit of longing or desperation, but it otherwise fits well. thecptz - 10 - wowww felt everything from this song!! We are sad! We are experiencing this mid-life crisis and we are crying. It's not easy mom. You better tell her. Heavy D & The Boyz - Somebody for Me Gateau - 7 - This is missing LOT of detail and explanation. luckystrike - 10 - Spot on me thinks. Rotunda - 10 - I think this hits all the notes thecptz - 9 - period an overweight lover!!! Ophilia - Dating Pool Gateau - 8.5 - This works kinda.. luckystrike - 8 - Oh you dug deep for this one. I think it's fine, it's kinda bare bones and I wish it had more of a conclusion but I guess it works. Rotunda - 9.5 - Could use more detail here and there to establish she's been trying extensively and failing but this works. thecptz - 9 - lmao 83 monthly listeners where did you find her? Omg… anyways, i love her flow and it's a cute song that fits the brief so! Chante Moore - Searchin' Gateau - 7 - THis kind of works? But also not really. luckystrike - 7 - Ehh she only says "is a good man hard to find?" in one line and never focuses on the lack of potential partners, but it's not the worst in here. Rotunda - 9.5 - Verse 3 teeters a bit, but overall a great entry. thecptz - 9.5 - again, another great track. I'm not too kind i think this theme is pretty easy and yall did well. Final results next!
  19. RUPA Contestants Song khalyan Shakira - Men In This Town Lemon Baby Queen - Die Alone Sour Carrie Underwood - The More Boys I Meet Shakira - Men In This Town Gateau - 10 - This was perfect, she even mentions death at the end. gg luckystrike - 10 - Oh this fits perfectly, you slayed. Rotunda - 9.5 - This could maybe be a bit more detailed, but this hits all the necessary marks. thecptz - 9.5 - starting off this round pretty well, i think this fits the theme's brief and you definitely hit the mark, well, at least for me! We got the frustrated feeling, we feel you. Baby Queen - Die Alone Gateau - 8.5 - I'm not really getting the "high quality" point here. luckystrike - 8 - She only mentions the lack of good candidates in one or two lines which takes away from it for me but other than that it's a good fit. Rotunda - 10 - No notes. thecptz - 10 - lmaooooo ofc yepppp. This hits pretty much everything for me. The mario and princess peach line is kinda funny… i actually love her music a lot, wow. Nice one! Carrie Underwood - The More Boys I Meet Gateau - 9 - Missed the mark on the total frustration of the prompt. I guess you could make an argument that she'll settle for her dog so I gave some credit for it. luckystrike - 10 - She mentions different interactions with horrible men, she is frustrated, she keeps trying but at the end of the day, she ends up settling for her dog. Perfect to me! Rotunda - 9 - This could use a bit more lament, but otherwise great thecptz - 9 - another great pick for this round! We started off pretty well damn… or maybe i'm just too kind. But i think this is also a great pick. SPARSHA Contestants Song Kevin Jessie Ware - Shake the Bottle Orange22 Miranda Lambert - Ugly Lights Titsanny Superfruit - GUY.exe Jessie Ware - Shake the Bottle Gateau - 6 - It doesn't seem like she's yearning for a good man really? luckystrike - 3 - She just wants her ***** ate. Rotunda - 5 - A lot of the lines here work in isolation in terms of how all the men suck, but she explicitly doesn't care about finding a partner. thecptz - 1.5 - well um… i love this album so when seeing this song get submitted, i was a bit surprised bc i don't think this fits with anything. Like all the men she listed were her one night stands and i think it's pretty clear later on the song when she said she doesn't want a real relationship she just wants to have some fun, lmaooo. Oh my. Miranda Lambert - Ugly Lights Gateau - 2 - THis has like barely anything to do with the prompt. I'm so confused as to why this was submitted. Was it an accident? luckystrike - 1 - What the ****. Rotunda - 3 - Maybe she wants a man…? But there's no indication that she's out of options or unable to find them. She's just an alcoholic. thecptz - 2 - uh oh the back-to-back flop… i feel like this one doesn't really say much about her wanting to find someone? It's more of her being sad and just sitting there and getting drunk watching people kiss and stuff. But i don't really think she wants someone? She just wants to be sad. Superfruit - GUY.exe Gateau - 8 - This is great but its completely missing the part on frustration in the prompt. So sad, it was the most perfectly written so far as far as everything else but y'all have to pay attention to the final lil twist, people! That's the part in every challenge that be getting y'all got. luckystrike - 7 - Well they are wishing for a perfect man but there's barely any frustration in here for me, it's an okay fit. Rotunda - 9 - We're missing some lament about needing to either lower standards or be alone, but otherwise this works well. thecptz - 9 - finally back to some good food! This tiktok viral fits the brief and that's all we want from this round. Two more tribes to go!
  20. ROUND 7 RESULTS Welcome castaways to your 7th results show! Below will be the rankings for each round. After I reveal the scores, I will post the final results which will include how you ranked against all castaways, finally the overall rankings after this round. Only TWO tribes will be immune -- best of luck to you all. With that said, here it is...
  21. Castaways, welcome to the seventh challenge of the Survivor: ATRL Edition (Season 15)! The theme for Round 7 is... IT'S SLIM PICKINS "Guess I'll end this life alone..." This round, we are looking for songs in which the narrator laments about the scarcity of potential partners out in the world. They are struggling to find anyone of high quality. There should an element of frustration about their situation -- for example, realizing that they will either have to die alone or settle for less (either would be fine). They want to wait for that perfect match, but it may not be possible! Both the narrator and their suitor(s) can be of any gender. _______________________________________________________ What To Do: Once your song is selected, PM both of the hosts the artist and title of your song on Discord in our group DM. You don't have to include a link to the song unless you are sending a specific version of it. There's no explanation needed as your song should speak for itself. If your song requires an explanation to make sense, it's not a good fit. There are many of you playing this game. You are bound to submit the same songs at some point. Because no one can occupy the same song, we encourage you to send a back-up choice along with your first pick. This applies especially to those who are not around when a round is posted and don't have the luxury of choosing an instant track. IMPORTANT NOTE: ONCE YOU SEND A SONG THAT IS AVAILABLE, YOUR CHOICE IS LOCKED AND YOU MAY NOT SWITCH. AGAIN, YOU CANNOT SWITCH SONGS. IF SOMEONE TAKES YOUR SONG FIRST, THAT IS WHEN YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SUBMIT A NEW ONE, SO PLEASE SUBMIT A BACK-UP. Take Into Consideration: The panel will judge the audio/lyrics of the track you submit. Music videos will not increase or decrease your score as some music video plots differ from a song's true meaning. The theme is what is important here. You will not receive a low score because you sent in a song one of the judges does not like. Taste will at the most be the difference between an 8.5 or a 9. We will never dock off multiple points based off mere preference. The song you choose should display the meaning upfront. An interview with your artist clarifying the meaning of the song will not be taken into consideration. Judging Scale (May Vary By Judge): 9/10 – Great entry. Track displays the theme given head on. 8 – Good entry. Displays theme well but not as well as others. 7 – Okay entry. Fits decently but is missing something overall. 6 – Somewhat tackles the theme but falls flat. 5 – Track mentions theme but is otherwise off–base. 3/4 – Song does not hit the theme given besides a line or two. 1/2 – Song has to do with a completely different subject than the theme. _______________________________________________________ We will supply an example for each round for you all to take inspiration from. Obviously no one can select this song as their entry. The example for this round is the country-twinged "Slim Pickins" from Sabrina Carpenter's 6th debut album. In this complaint-ridden ballad, she describes her fears that she will "end this life alone" due to the shortage of desirable men out in the world ("all the good ones are deceased or taken"). While she looks for a man with positive qualities -- like being "jacked and kind" -- she just "can't find his ass to save her life". She is forced to settle for lower quality guys, and is resigned to "moanin and bitchin" about her dilemma. After all, she is stuck with a man that doesn't even know the basics of the English language! Entries are due at 7 PM EDT on Tuesday, March 25th - good luck!

  23. RUPA Contestants Song Eden Aespa - Better Things khalyan Robbie Williams - Karma Killer Lemon Taylor Swift - Karma Sour Green Day - Ha Ha You're Dead Aespa - Better Things Aurora - 2 - Completely missed the mark, I'm afraid. This is entirely centred on the narrators' abilities to move on from their exes, and doesn't even address their good karma or the exes' bad karma. There's not really any karmic element whatsoever? Gateau - 2 - this is… almost? Idk. the sentiment is kinda there but everything else is off. luckystrike - 1 - At first I gave you a 0 but then I remembered the lowest we can give out is 1. Just know that I would've given you a 0. thecptz - 4 - well this song talks about being confident and kinda like stops wasting my time? It sure shows that the aespa girlies are success and stuff but i just don't think it fits the theme much. Robbie Williams - Karma Killer Aurora - 5 - It's giving "lemme google 'songs about karma' and go from there". There's anger and resentment here, but making empty threats such as "I hope you choke on your Bacardi and Coke" isn't the same as seeing someone getting their comeuppance and enjoying it. Gateau - 3 - dafuq? There's no real detail on why he's mad, nor is there any reference to actual karma that has played out. Hopes are not events, people! luckystrike - 6 - Well sorta kinda, he is pissed and not really finding solace in witnessing their bad karma, but he does mention the universe will get that person without him doing a thing, and him being good now, even if it's for one line. A hint of the theme. thecptz - 7 - oh wow well go off mister. My comments will be just like all the songs i gave a 7 too. Taylor Swift - Karma Aurora - 7.5 - What the hell, sure. This song is pretty much a textbook example of boasting about one's own good karma and warning bad karma is coming someone else's way without actually witnessing it. The Ice Spice version would honestly have scored better with me due to her verse including some examples of bad karma, but all in all this is a pretty solid good-but-not-great entry with regard to the specifics of this prompt. Gateau - 5 - This is almost there. There's a vague reference to karma that has happened, and a vague reference to why she wishes for the karma to play out but she's also going on about keeping her side of the street clean and how she doesn't really care that the karma is playing out which is the opposite of what the theme is. luckystrike - 6 - This one is kinda difficult to rate because the main prompt is about being happy to see someone's bad karma, and while the self-boasting of good karma is an aspect of the prompt, it's not the main idea that we were looking for, this would be a 10 if it was but it lacks certain key elements of the prompt. thecptz - 6 - this almost suffers the same fate as aespa for me. But she mentions karma's coming to get her haters asses. So good enough. Green Day - Ha Ha You're Dead Aurora - 3 - Hmm. Death is not really a result of bad karma, so… I don't think this works for me because that's pretty much what the entire song is about. Different ways of saying "when you're dead/dying, I'll be celebrating." Gateau - 7 - This is cracking me UP, but we don't know why he's so mad!!! luckystrike - 7.5 - Almost there, I wish there was more detail and we got more background or context as to why he is enjoying their demise but overall it works. thecptz - 9 - whew DAMN! Like go off, baby. SHABDA Contestants Song britilly Miniature Tigers - Tell It to the Volcano Luckitty Grayson DeWolfe - Karma petty Paramore - Ain't It Fun Poki Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around... Comes Around Miniature Tigers - Tell It to the Volcano Aurora - 4.5 - Well, this was an interesting one. I’m gonna reiterate that we need y’all to be as literal as possible to get those points for your tribe. I can kind of interpret “from what I know, you're goin' down the hole” as learning of the person’s downward spiraling, but the surface reading of the lyric is about jumping into the hole of a volcano, which is technically what we’re meant to be judging here. Even within this volcano sacrifice metaphor(?), the bridge insinuates he’d like to take an active involvement in their comeuppance by admitting “I'd like to chuck ya down”. Gateau - 6.5 - a hot mess. We’re missing whether or not this is an actual volcano? luckystrike - 2 - He is not really witnessing any sort of bad karma? He wants to actively seek revenge and push her into the volcano? This got worse as it went on, also what a horrid song. thecptz - 4 - well i think there’s a mention of him living his life i guess. Grayson DeWolfe - Karma Aurora - 9 - Despite being a bit one-dimensional—cheater gets cheated on is pretty much the only example of bad karma here—this ticks a lot of the other boxes. It even follows a similar formula to the example song, down to hearing “the news” from friends rather than being actively involved. The second verse strengthens this, comparing the situation to a boomerang coming back around to hit their ex in the face. “I'd be sympathetic but I hope it hurts / Karma gave what you deserved” shows that this wasn’t just the narrator’s wish, and that they are enjoying seeing them get their comeuppance. Great entry. Gateau - 9 - it works but its not very literary. Its missing the anguish and the anger and the result of what happened to the ex. luckystrike - 8 - Cute enough, I just wish he showed a little bit more of happiness after hearing the news. thecptz - 8 - yeah again, yall did well with this theme (at least for me) and this is also another cute track that fits with this round. Paramore - Ain't It Fun Aurora - 1 - Love this song but I don’t see what on earth it has to do with the prompt? This is about the reality check of going from being a big deal in a small community to being just another number in a big city (more or less). That’s not bad karma, that’s just… reality. Gateau - 2 - I get the sentiment but nothing happened here. luckystrike - 1 - Girl what in the world? thecptz - 2 - i’m kinda confused. I never think of this song as a karma song so i’m really confused. Please don’t attack me tho. It’s kinda a song she wrote about herself? Love this song tho. Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around... Comes Around Aurora - 7 - This is fine, and a pretty expected entry for this prompt. The main drawback for me is that it’s entirely hypothetical by suggesting karma is coming for his ex without actually witnessing it or describing how until the interlude at the 4-minute mark. This part has done more for your score in 1 minute than the rest of the song. Gateau - 8 - Yeah this works. luckystrike - 6 - Ehhhhhhhhh… he is not finding any sort of solace with the situation, he is clearly hurt and is warning her that what goes around, comes around, then towards the end he does witness how she gets cheated on like she did to him but still, there’s not anything that states he is happy or finding comfort in the fact that she got done wrong too. thecptz - 7 - inserts my comment for other songs i gave 7s to. Final results next!
  24. RASA Contestants Song CBC Nova Miller - Cry Baby Cry Choosey Lover Victoria Nadine - Hope Ur Miserable supaspaz ROZES - Happy To See You Sad Tyler Nessa Barrett - I Hope Ur Miserable Until Ur Dead Nova Miller - Cry Baby Cry Aurora - 8 - Chorus is good, she feels "warm inside" when she sees her ex hurting, even acknowledging "it's kinda twisted". It's missing witnessing any actual bad karma besides the ex just being generally sad about the situation, but this is decent. Gateau - 7 - Its fne, just a little vague. She doesn't talk about what her ex did to her or much about the things that happened to her ex other than the crying and pleading for a second chance. luckystrike - 10 - Omg where is this QUEEN? Anyways I think this was a spot on entry, it has many parallels to the example song so I don't have any complaints. Great job! thecptz - 9 - i think this is a great submission for this theme! She mentions living her sweet life and he had to come back and beg her to still be in his life like YASSSS. KARMA! Victoria Nadine - Hope Ur Miserable Aurora - 6 - I like how "Not gonna drag you through the dirt" specifically addresses the not-getting-involved part of the prompt, other than that this is very much a general wishing-your-cheating-ex-the-worst kind of song. It doesn't have those examples of karma coming back around to show the narrator's positive reaction to it. Gateau - 4 - I gave you four points for the idea of the narrator seeking karma and the narrator talking about the cheating, but there's nothing in here that implies any actual karma happened here. luckystrike - 4 - I think this is mostly a miss, she is wishing someone the worst and not really witnessing their downfall, also there are no mentions of her enjoying the situation or any other prompt on the theme. thecptz - 7 - this def mentions about karma but i feel like it's not giving "finding solace in watching the universe take control" much… i take this song as she constantly wishes the worst for him. ROZES - Happy To See You Sad Aurora - 9.5 - "I won't lie, I love watching your karma go bad" is pretty much as head on as you can get. The only thing that would have made this better is if the bridge was framed as "I heard…" rather than "I hope…" otherwise this is pretty much perfect. Gateau - 7.5 - definitely hits it but we're not getting a story like we saw in the prompt. Theres a real lack of detail here about what went wrong between them and the actual karma that has happened. luckystrike - 9 - I thought this was Carrie Underwood help. This is a good entry. I wish the situations in the bridge were more like things that actually happened to this person and not her wishing them upon him but overall it's good, she is happy to see him sad and that is what matters. thecptz - 8.5 - haven't heard from her for so long wow… anyways, this is also a great pick for this theme. Almost gave it a 9 but i think an 8.5 fits for this one. Nessa Barrett - I Hope Ur Miserable Until Ur Dead Aurora - 6 - It touches on some of the relevant themes, but similar to the Victoria Nadine song it still feels like a more general hate-my-ex type song. In terms of the narrative, this feels on par with the example song's first two verses—I want to hear what actually happens next. Not just hoping for misery, but seeing it and enjoying it. Gateau - 4 - I love this song so much and knew it would be submitted but I also know it has no references to actual karma that has played out. luckystrike - 5 - Same critique as the song with the same title but this one had a line about her saying she could get revenge but she won't because it will come back around that I liked so I'm giving you one more point. thecptz - 7 - yeah kinda like hope ur miserable… the way i gave the hope ur miserable ones the same scores yass. I think i just wish it had like she's happy seeing this ex suffer and stuff. SPARSHA Contestants Song Kevin Gabby Barrett - I Hope nostalgic Sara Evans - Cheatin' Orange22 The All American Rejects - Gives You Hell Titsanny Lily Allen - Smile Gabby Barrett - I Hope Aurora - 6.5 - This is more detailed when it comes to the specifics of how she hopes her ex will suffer, but it's all theoretical—it's perfectly possible they lived happily ever after, much to Ms. Barrett's dismay. Still, I think this works slightly better than some of the other wishing-my-ex-the-worst songs due to the details. Gateau - 3 - This is "I hope" not "this happened" luckystrike - 3 - Girl these are all the same song, she is pissed and wishing him the worst, she is not mentioning any sort of gratification or witnessing anything… I think some of y'all need better reading comprehension. thecptz - 7 - like the other songs i gave 7 to, i think it's about karma, yeah but it's more like always wishing this person get what they did and literally the same issue for me. Sara Evans - Cheatin' Aurora - 10 - I love country music for Survivor because the narrative structure lends itself to lyrical analysis so well. From the top, Ms. Evans declares her ex has outright said his "every day is a bad dream that keeps repeating" and every specific example given thereafter isn't a hypothetical or a wish, but a list of actual bad karma and unfortunate circumstances he's actually experiencing, just like in the example song. Stellar choice. Gateau - 10 - yupperz hit all the points. luckystrike - 10 - Oh she gagged his ass. thecptz - 10 - lmaooooo go off queen 😭YAS yeehaw! Oh i think this is what i expect out of this round, so true. You better tell him. The All American Rejects - Gives You Hell Aurora - 4 - "But the list goes on and on" I would like to see it. Not being able to stand seeing someone isn't really bad karma, that's just an internal emotional response rather than an external force (karma) acting upon the person. I know a 9-5 job and life in the suburbs isn't for everyone, but it's not really "bad karma" to have those things. Gateau - 8 - This definitely works but some of the references are things that have already ongoing with the ex and not karma. She was already working that 9 to 5 and missing the picket fence and shiny car when they were together. luckystrike - 7 - I think it's similar to "Cheatin'" but this one has way less detail and the chorus being so explicitly him wishing her hell when she sees him also takes a bit from it, but overall it has many lines that work fine enough. thecptz - 10 - oh i know you were giggling when you secured this song. Another perfect choice for this round 👏nice job. Lily Allen - Smile Aurora - 8 - This works well enough for me, it follows a pretty similar structure to the example song in how it addresses the breakup, then focuses on enjoying her ex's misery. Similar to the Nova Miller song it's a bit one-dimensional—it's missing witnessing any actual bad karma besides the ex just being generally sad, but this is decent. Gateau - 7 - I think you thought the video was gonna do the heavy lifting for this song but unfortunately for you we dont take those into account </3 there's really nothing other than seeing him cry and smiling about it. But there's detail on why she hates him, so you get points for that. luckystrike - 6.5 - I mean, yes, she smiles when he cries but that's about it. There's no other mention of her witnessing and enjoying his bad karma for wronging her. Extremely bare bones. thecptz - 8 - this classic. Again, it fits the theme but there's some part that i think the other songs that got higher scores hit more head on! Two more tribes to go!
