Something to add for the antivax dude and everyone else here, you know Insurance companies don't like having to cover covid either these days, and even make singers sign contracts to avoid talking about it? You're seeing all the time swiftties getting virus bc almost no one recognises the pandemic is still ongoing and Is very gross how some people early in this thread only cared about their concert tickets, people also don't care about infecting others, if you've had this conversation with anyone they will tell you something like "well, they won't know that stranger they got it from was me". Many performing artist have suffered this summer, we've seen Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks and Robbie Williams had even talk about it on stage, also young ones are affected, I remember Enrique Iglesias a few weeks ago had to be hospitalized and I think Harry Styles has LC as well, not to mention Edd Sheeran living in contagion island has had it iirc at least 5 times (minimizers will use it as a pro-infection argument but here's a facr: red haired have lower white cells). You also have Demi who got sick last year and even uploaded a story only to delete it in minutes saying that would be her last tour, fyi, she got a tonsilectomy in 2013 bc she got sick all the time and we all know that chaged her voice. We need everyone to take updated and better vaccines, improve indoor air like they used to in the early XX century as well. We got very good numbers back in late 2021 when we have some inmmunity bc lots of people had the vaccine taken very few months ago. Novavax provides longer and some mucosal inmunity which the previous vaccines DIDN'T do and would be a good chance for erradication, AI tests as well, late in 2022 they we able to use unscripted voice samples taken withjust a dataset made from youtubers which can be used for testing, having test on everyone's smarthphones would be super cheap, BMA (British medical association) report about doctors getting LC went from 54% only to 46% after vaccines) so you all better think there's something we can do, for yourself or for your belloved artists who need to take care of their voices, which are a delicate thing!

Pop music may be simple as well but still way more varied musically and lyricaly, that's all I ask regaeton to be, so I don't see what's pretentious about it

As someone who lives in Spain, (And being latin or not is another discussion, since latin could refer to Mediterranean countries but also hispanic or south american, which could be considered Hispanic if we want to refer to all south america except Brazil plus Spain, but that's another topic) I've observed over the last couple of years regaeton, which isn't originary from here, (but thanks to shared language) has took over the clubs and people in general, and many of us hate it, regaeton is a very generic genre, all the songs have the same f***ing rythym, the same 3 or 4 chord progression and the lyrics just use the simplest metaphors. This music takes little atention to listen to and it shows how people are getting more stupid, and the lyrics tend to be machist. It even has been proposed to limit the amount of regaeton played on clubs, radio, etc...
