Björk f/ Rosalía - "Oral"
We need Björk - Vespertine (Björk‘s Version) (From the vault) This is excellent and I love her modern stuff but it‘s nice to hear such a instant melody from her again, she always brought so much richness to more forward sounding pop as well. The drums could‘ve been toned down in the second half imo but still a stellar track.

yeule - 'softscars'
I think I slightly prefer Glitch Princess but yeah they ate this album up, one of the best projects of the year for sure
-
Slowdive - 'everything is alive'
I know they just dropped this but this feels like their best album to date for me. Such a lush and intimate sound and not a single wasted second on the whole record

Janelle Monáe - 'The Age of Pleasure'
I think it's good she isn't completely locking herself into making a concept for all of her albums but this sounds like more of a cute mixtape. An enjoyable listen but I don't think it's quite memorable enough to stick around. Float will be an all summer bop tho

This Was 2022 | Beyoncé's groove
Sweet Nothing is definitely in the top half of Midnights songs and better than songs like Bejeweled and most of the bonus tracks

This Was 2022 | Beyoncé's groove
Oh wow this masterpiece appearing out of nowhere in this thread Better than 99% of the songs in this rate and not even in the Top 5 of that album to be honest. The way we need her music on Spotify though. Tired of always having to put on the Vinyl to listen to her or suffer Youtube audio quality

This Was 2022 | Beyoncé's groove
Didn't get around to sending this ... honestly blame Bad Bunny's lack of quality control and desperation for streams Fine with the eliminations except Matilda which is a really nice simple ballad, deserved better honestly. I'd take Vigilante **** over some of the mediocre and boring songs from Midnights. At least it is entertaining if a bit of a cringe (n a good way tho)

Jessie Ware - 'That! Feels Good!'
What kind of crack did she put into Freak Me Now? What a banger

This Was 2022 | Beyoncé's groove
I don‘t know if I can bring myself to hear that slog of a Bad Bunny album again. If I don‘t send Saoko, Summer Renaissance and Kill Bill for Top 3 please

Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
I fear this is the best song she's ever written. The power it has
-
boygenius - ‘The Record’
Well everyone expected them to deliver and they delivered Cool about it
-
Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
The live version being a 10 and the album version like a 6 is a hate crime
-
Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
We need to come to terms with the fact that it is probably the best song lyrically she has ever released. Completely timeless piece of songwriting.

Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
Oooooooohhhhh Let the light in
-
Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
If the album would have to be cut a bit shorter tracks that add the least to the whole experience are imo the Jon Batiste interlude, Paris, texas and either Taco Truck x VB or Peppers (leaning towards the former). They would've made for cute bonus tracks or B-sides.

Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
I pray for those whose ears don‘t hear this very obvious fact. She wove so much into that track, the Kintsugi metaphor is so beautiful and raw.

Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
Spoken word interludes can be hit or miss but the Judah Smith Interlude is so brilliant. The sparse and brooding instrumentation reminds me of a section of an early Godspeed You! black Emporer record

Caroline Polachek - 'Desire, I Want to Turn Into You'
!!! Like are we pretending these little brats sound good? As if Caroline‘s voice layered for this outro wouldn‘t be a billion times better? Ok sure
-
Caroline Polachek - 'Desire, I Want to Turn Into You'
The first half of the song is god-tier but then she commits the cardinal sin of using a children choir for the outro which drags the song down sadly
-
Caroline Polachek - 'Desire, I Want to Turn Into You'
This grew on me with repeated listens, it's a very good project overall, but PANG still outperformed
-
Caroline Polachek - 'Desire, I Want to Turn Into You'
Has there ever been a better usage of whistling in a pop song than Bunny is a rider? I am immediately hooked when that opening whistle happens followed by that distorted baby laugh
-
Caroline Polachek - 'Desire, I Want to Turn Into You'
Mhh I guess I am in the minority who thinks this doesn't hold a candle to PANG. It's a nice listen overall but nowhere near as catchy, punchy, bold or vibrant as PANG for me. It feels a little subdued to me even though there are a few standouts (mostly the teaser tracks though). I believe is my favorite of the new ones.

Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
Enough time has passed and I can confidently say now that DYKTTATUOB ( ) is NFR level quality. When that final chorus opens up and she drives the metaphor of the tunnel home ugh the quality

Lana Del Rey - 'Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd'
this is so ******* good how does she create these songs/albums at this speed? a true witch

65th Annual Grammy Awards
Their picks somehow manage to get more unintersting by the year MOTS being one of 3 Coldplay albums to get AOTY nom..truly tragic
