Do albums spend more time at #1 now? Because this list only has 4 post-2000 artists in it out of 20. And out of those four, Morgan Wallen is the only one from the streaming era, while Taylor Adele and

Beatles doing that long before the streaming era (making albums stick around much longer) is wild.

Taylor coming for The Beatles :clap3:

Taylor most successful solo artist in US history. :clap3:

and lana del rey most weeks at MY #1 which is more important than shitboard :celestial2:

Adele having 40 weeks with only 4 albums is so impressive

Why isn't she at number 1? FLOP :bam:

There's a Whitney Houston-sized gap between Taylor and The Beatles.

Adele is such a legend. Doing that with three albums is CRAZY (19 peaked at #4).

And out of those four, Morgan Wallen is the only one from the streaming era, while Taylor Adele and Drake are from the (early) digital era. I agree with that sentiment in terms of top 10 weeks, which are indeed skewed in pre- vs post-streaming, but #1 weeks don't seem to get easier, based on this.

Anyway, Taylor's consistency and longevity is absolutely incredible. The fact she even has a shot at coming for The Beatles is insane.

Albums stay on the chart much longer. That is factual.

on whole chart maybe, but this is strictly about #1. the only album from this century among top 10 longest charting at #1 is 21.

Albums continue to break #1 records. Look at SZA obliterating 30-year-old records for Black female artists with SOS.

i think those are still singular examples (morgan's albums, sos, ttpd) and question is if everyone will follow and it will become a norm or at some point those long albums will backfire.

I wonder how long it will take Taylor to become the first solo artist to reach 100 weeks

After the next Taylor's Versions left and her new studio album

Taylor is social distancing from solo artists :clap3:

Do you guys think The Beatles will come to snatch some more weeks at #1 now that the 4-5 movies are coming?

I think it's easier for the biggest albums to have a lenghty run at #1, but it's harder for acts to actually replicate their success afterwards.

Thriller alone has more weeks than several artists on this list :deadbanana4:

Hard to tell because they'd need to have big streaming or large physicals to make those OST #1
