Too bad they never delved into another pop excellency like Words and Music again, let me check the single first

Yup. They are saying goodbye. I still need to listen to the new song but since they worked with Chemical Brothers maybe we will finally get some bops 

The new single is fine, thank God it's not anemic but the sample stab is a bit tew much

Damn that's sad, such a shame because they could've been working and exploring another venue of electropop instead of these ambience / MOR thing-y they comfortably did

 

 

After Saint Etienne's 35-year excursion through pop, International, is their final album-length statement. A dreamlike drift with friends and collaborators, International features cameos from the higher echelons of pop — 80s chart heroes, electro, acid house and all points in-between — from Vince Clarke to Nick Heyward, Confidence Man to Erol Alkan, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Doves and Xenomania, through to the lesser known, but equally exhilarating Augustin Bousfield and Flash Cassette. Saint Etienne are the 90s band who never left us, never imploded, and never adhered to clichéd excess. They are a testament to getting along, getting on with creating something new and, of course, getting away with it.\

 

Album 'International' which is set for release on September 5th but will be available to pre-order from this coming Thursday 29th May.

Sounds like it's gonna be a great album. If it's anything like Words and Music or Foxbase Alpha/Beta then I'm very interested. 

'Take Me To The Pilot' with contributions of Orbital is the next single will be out on the first week of August so i assume it would be the Friday 1st August.

Glad is such a great tune, and Take Me To The Pilot is a bop too. They're going out with a bang!

Album is out now. I really liked Sweet Melodies after first listen but need more time with the rest

It was a really pleasant listen, however it does feel like a band using up the last trump cards they had up their sleeves rather than bowing out at the peak of their powers

Glad is still the best song, He's Gone and Two lovers are bops and Fade is a very soft moment that I really loved

 

Ordered a signed orange vinyl anyway

dancing heart, sweet melodies, save it for a rainy day, fade, two lovers, he's gone, glad are the best in the record plus the bonus tracks from rough trade are 10/10 almost is a downtempo masterpiece, international spanish song is giving me 90's swedish beach pop like a la ace of base, walk away from her is A BOP like heart failed but way more electronic and danceable, things break down is such an spectacular song 

i give it a 7.5/10 you would love this album if you love pop music and basically gay pop anthems haha

the soft moments in the album like fade & sweet melodies are my favorite. there's also a digital deluxe which include " a chance to breathe " which is another cute soft gentle moment

Absolutely loving this. My favourite album of there's since Words and Music. 

 

Definitely one of my albums of the year. 

 

Not dived into the Glad EP, deluxe remixes and International extra yet. 

It's cute I enjoyed it!

Apparently there's an iTunes deluxe with karaoke versions of Glad, Take Me To The Pilot and Brand New Me. 

 

Does anyone have the link? I can't see to find it.
