They should've pressed the delete key on this entire project. No More Tears would've been a better direction to go in.
popstickle Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago It baffles me that this album was promoted as a "dance" record when the only tracks that vaguely resemble dance music are 'Crush', 'Nirvana' and 'Lifetimes'. The rest of the album is either pop, pop trap or hyper pop-esque and these bonus tracks move even further away from the "dance" theme of the album. It's a shame as I'd love to hear a full on dance pop project from Katy. Her work with Zedd, Calvin Harris and Alesso has shown she can play with that sound in an interesting way, why didn't she team up with them again for this album? 3

camilacabelloslaps Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Im his hes mine and gorgeous are still the only 2 songs ill use from this era. I liked smile more tbh, it got a lot of hate but daisies, never really over, cry about later, end of the world, Harley's in Hawaii and smile are all really good songs 3

Magno Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago That incompetent team should put IHHM and Ok range above 50 million at least. That album will never see 1 billion that way. I like the album enough to say that if any track out of its 15 goes viral for me it'll be fine.
mathekr Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago OK is supposed to be the Lu Kala co-write that she said was one of her best songs yet? Yikes. She shouldve put that Gimme Gimme solo version on this. 2

She's sticking to the live action Aeon Flux aesthetic and a wee bit Underworld. Time to announce USA tour dates. as for the bonus tracks. The ones I did like: I Woke Up & OK
Truth Teller Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I Woke Up is the best song here tbh. It sounds like a PRISM reject but that's good enough. It really sounds like a Katy Perry song, unlike most of the album

Maybe the plan was to launch a deluxe properly and have Ok be the an actual lead single for that deluxe with airplay and a video. And to be honest, the song hasn't really circulated despite being released 3 months ago (idk if Capitol was protecting it or if no one cared to leak it). But yeah...

lauvender Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Unpopular Opinion - I love this album, every song is an enjoyable listen to me. The visuals (album design, photoshoot) are so stunning and some of my favorite from a pop star in years. I just wish with this cool concept that the music matched it better... 143 is a really cool title and so much more could've been done with it. If she wanted to go the dance-pop-club route she should've really committed to it instead of relying on her old lazy copy-paste pal Dr. Luke () a complaint I have with her albums are the cohesion, songs like OK, Has a Heart, No More Tears sound like they could belong to a chill pop PRISM/Smile-esque album not a "dance" project with songs like Crush, Nirvana, Lifetimes imo. there was a better way for her to have her dance record, I wish she would've collaborated with Zedd & Alesso (even Calvin Harris) over you know who, because they actually did her justice. Even a hyperpop element could've added more depth to the project and still stuck with the theme (the visuals scream sleek hyperpop album vibes) imagine her working with Arca/Grimes/AG Cook and adjacent artists, I think that would've been cool and actually celebrated. let's hope if there actually is a remix album she can correct this mistake and give us something really cool *-* anyways, end of rant. I'm just grateful to have Lifetimes, Gorgeous & I'm His, He's Mine
