If we're being honest, nothing is hitting visually this era which is disappointing. These days, visuals can literally make or break eras (see Brat) so I wish she reinvests some resources into that. Looking cunty while holding designer bags that she ruined with paint is not the visual gag they think it is. girl, this is independent & newly free Kesha we're talking about. If you expect her to do things how she always used to or compare her to what other artists are doing now, then you are clearly missing the whole point of being a fan of her. Yes, the AI cover is not good. But I can't believe the discourse around it... it doesn't effect any of you, in any way. 2 3

I mean… when she was signed we couldn't criticize because of the obvious situation and now we can't say anything too because she's independent. Being an independent artist does not mean things have to look cheap and underwhelming. It is actually a chance to produce stuff that are even better because she controls everything and she can execute the vision she's wants. Delusional is still a bop and I'm excited for the album of course but I just wish she focuses a bit on the visual presentation because she's good at it. 3 1

Joyride is a terrible song 10
thatsmydemi Posted December 3 Posted December 3 This is quite accessible and safe unlike Joyride and her past two eras. Cute track. It's been a while since the last time I found a Kesha song easy to listen. 3

I'm honestly getting tired of the whole 'we can't criticize or disagree with anything she does because she's free!' narrative. It is normal and healthy to be honest about your favorite artists output and it's also helpful for them if the feedback is constructive. Even more so now that she's independent. That's why it's so disappointing to see her completely dodge the justified outrage re: the AI artwork, especially when it is coming from her fans and not random online haters. 5 1
goldstargay Posted December 3 Posted December 3 It's a shame the discourse around this isn't about the song but the use of AI (i agree she should have commissioned an actual artist) -- but this song is an absolute BOP. yeah it's more generic that JR and her last era but I think she is just having fun and making music she likes. I just want the album announcement soon. 2
Hex Posted December 3 Posted December 3 This song is the perfect amalgamation of everything I dislike about the 2012-2017 pop era Just so... white bread idk 4 1

Jay L Posted December 3 Posted December 3 Wow I love this genuinely shocked at the mixed reactions to this. 2
collin Posted December 3 Posted December 3 I can't believe how polarizing this is. Almost always people love it or hate it To me it's just there, I like it I guess but don't really love it and won't be replaying it much. Seems like she is going to have better luck going back to crazy electropop but I'm glad that this is giving a sliver of her casual fans some hope that she'll release stuff that they prefer over Joyride-esque material. 1

Some of us still want that rock album that warrior was supposed to be before Luke make it pop

I'm more interested in the storied folky singer songwriter record— but that can come later on. 4

Now if she released a rock album in 2017/18 on the other hand… 4

But she desperately needed to expand her brand and it's a shame The Harold Song or Last Goodbye weren't given single treatments. Dirty Love would've bombed as a proper single, but at least even that song would've helped her expand her brand with the proper push as a single instead of Crazy Kids. It's a shame she hasn't revisited that cock-pop sound she was carving out for herself, guess she was just too ahead of her time. 2
Irvine Posted December 4 Posted December 4 (edited) i was really looking forward to this song cause it sounded amazing in this clip she posted a few months ago but they lowered the background vocals too much and it sounds emptier now wish they would've kept the earlier production of the song Edited December 4 by Irvine 2

I'm convinced shes waiting for either K7 or K8 K6 is this return to pop she's known for K7 or K8 will be either a folky album like she teased in that Billboard interview for High Road or a rock album that most of us want from her and expect that she wants it too.
