Rod's show was part of Rio NYE celebrations, so people weren't there for his show only. For Madonna's show yesterday, people came for just Madonna alone. So let me repeat this fact again: Madonna's Copacabana show set the record for the most attended standalone concert ever in the history of music. 1

UseYourIllusion2002
The Swifties clinging onto Rod Stewart all of a sudden sorry to break it to you guys, but Rod's show was a NYE celebration. Jojo Siwa could have been at that celebration and there would have been at least 1 million people. This record claim is coming from LIVE NATION, a legit source MADONNA is a legend. Best selling female artist of all time. And this is with her being crucified by the media and general public for 30 years! She doesn't have to keep her image superficial or clean like Taylor. OT: congrats to MADONNA, the QUEEN of POP for her recording break concert! 1

I mean we might as well add mtv video plays to madonna's album sales, that alone would put herp probably at 10b albums sold lol
RandomHooker
It's insulting to compare Madonna to Taylor Swift. Madonna's legacy stays untouched to this day. You should instead compare Taylor Swift to BTS. Their success is heavily fuelled by an army of rabid fans. They have no impact nor remembered timeless classics. Their output is as mediocre and palatable as it gets. 3 2

I can confirm to have played / streamed Madonna over 250,000 times. Please add that to her Spotify total. Fans, even bigger than I am, have even higher CD playcounts. I would say, we should add at least 42 TRILLION streams to her total. Edited May 5 by stevyy

$ebert
Just now, TROJAN said: Taylor is going to outsell Madonna in a few years and I'm SALIVATING. Well, yes, she probably will cause it's the digital era… regardless, Madonna will always remain superior, her songs will always be legendary and remembered cause she created masterpieces not songs for the charts, unlike Taylor. After all she's the queen of pop and no artist will have a huge cultural impact like her, she's an icon and revolutionary artist.

I mean Popular has lowkey outsold Fortnight in Germany IF we assume that Popular was the first step in this direction, then Madonna is already ahead.
