Can Taylor get two #1 hits with Tortured Poets Department like Ariana?

When it comes to payola, seems like other artists need more

Maybe she should call Taylor and ask who to pay off

she could easily do this if she wanted to, but she prioritize her albums instead of singles

Pop stans can't even handle her being at #1 on iTunes. You think they can handle her being No.1 back to back?!

And let it be know, when she dominated the top 10, all of them songs have better points than whatever #1 of the week today.

But sure, let get Estonia or some European country to be the goal post of success again, shall we? So tired of y'all eurocentrics.

Um okay. Still doesn't change the fact that Ariana is able to do it more often than Taylor outside of the US.

Even if that was the case (which it isn't), what exactly are you trying to prove or suggesting by saying this? That she's more global than Taylor? Because we both know that's not true

Not if she sticks to her current strategy of not releasing a single until the album releases, then just letting the singles 2/3 ride out by themselves. I miss a traditional single era like 1989 from Taylor though, but if this strategy is paying off more for her, I don't see her changing it.

If she had the same release strategy (releasing the first single before the album and then a second single when the album comes out), then obviously yes :rip:

It's really that simple

It's all about the pre-release single. And she won't release any, so no.

"More global"? So Taylor is popular in an extra country or what? That's dense.

They're both global. The question is who is bigger globally. Ariana has more hits in Europe. Taylor bigger album sales in Europe. Both are big in Latin America. Both are streaming forces. I don't know how to exactly answer your question without further elaboration.

It's not a question.

Taylor has topped IFPI's Top Global Artist chart in 4 separate years, including the year of Ariana's career peak, where she came in 6th.

If you look outside of their home bases they're pretty much on the same level popularity-wise. Taylor isn't occupying the entire top 10 like she does in the US in Germany, France, Japan, South Africa, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Mexico, Greece and her first-week placements and positions are similar to what Ariana does. I wouldn't be so sure as to say she's bigger outside of the US. And that was the initial statement which was of course derailed by a Taylor stan.

It's crazy to think that some people think there are artists in the industry that are experiencing the same level of success and dominance as taylor

NO ONE right now is even close to taylor's global dominance and wildly HUGE success :suburban:

And why would we do that when your question asked "who is bigger globally"? Global does not mean looking at a few select countries individually, it means looking at the entire global picture, something the IFPI does better than any other official chart company, and their results are decisive: Taylor is more global than any artist right now. :lakitu:

… except it was you who derailed a thread once again with your Taylor obsession by randomly bringing up top 10 placements in a thread that's explicitly about #1s, and nothing else.

But Ariana is having a second single go Top 10 in almost every country in the world. Taylor has not been able to do that easily with any single since 2014.

The sad attempt to setup Ariana just so you can drag her. Pathetic losers!

You know the girls are taking to heart that the planted Lily Jay stories ended up doing nothing 10 months later if we got people who don't even like Ariana making threads set up to have her dragged by a fandom who has always hated her to a deranged degree.

Ariana right now:

Extremely easily, if she releases a single ahead of the album like Ariana does. But she hasn't done a pre-album single since Lover.

Not the Swifties arguing with the OAHs who obviously made this thread so they can drag Ari. Predictable af. Congratulations on successfuly setting up Ariana. Y'all never fail to drag a female artist every time she gets success.

Thank you, this invalidates the  existence of this thread. Hard to believe anyone doesn't grasp this :rip:

Oh I'm sure if Taylor did try pushing another song to #1 with a video and 3 remixes y'all would be having meltdowns about it.

I think y'all forget how close Karma got to #1 the week it got the Ice Spice remix and video. Yeah it was blocked by Last Night, but it was a pretty close week.

She showed then, when it was quite close, that she didn't give a **** about a second #1 single (and really, all the Anti-Hero remixes were only released because she wanted to demolish Drake in particular :deadbanana4:). If she wanted it from Midnights, she would've had it, and if she wants it from TTPD, she will get it :ryan3:
