Can Taylor get two #1 hits with Tortured Poets Department like Ariana?

Ari has gotten two #1 hits with Yes, And? and now We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) in her "flop era" with Eternal Sunshine.

Can Taylor do the same thing? She has not gotten more than one #1 hit in an era since 1989, which is crazy to think about honestly.

Oh, no! What will she do? I think Taylor should definitely retire if she fails to score 2 #1s from TTPD. :bibliahh:

Cruel Summer is still in the top 10 of global spotify after an eternity and Anti Hero was a smash. She clearly is a smash maker when she wants to be.

Where are the non-singles at? :rip:
No top 10 debut is crazy

If she had the same release strategy (releasing the first single before the album and then a second single when the album comes out), then obviously yes :rip:

She can definitely do that. It's like Anti-Hero or Is It Over Now? 2x.

But Ariana is having a second single go Top 10 in almost every country in the world. Taylor has not been able to do that easily with any single since 2014.

The sad attempt to setup Ariana just so you can drag her. Pathetic losers!

Can?  Obviously.  All she would need to do is release a lead single.

Her roll out makes It harder for her to accomplish such feature, but to be honest? Ocupping the whole Top 10 with her album tracks is far more impressive than having two #1 songs in a single album, so I don't mind that much.

hmm... easy answer would be if she releases a lead single before the album drop. However even in that case her lead single still being #1 after the album drop is also a very likely scenerio.
No need to compare ariana and taylor they are in different level of artistry and fame. Congrats ariana on the 2 number ones tho she is probably the only one left doing it in the old fashioned way.

When it comes to payola, seems like other artists need more

Um okay. Still doesn't change the fact that Ariana is able to do it more often than Taylor outside of the US.

She could release the most experimental non-GP friendly single and it would still go #1 at this point.

I mean of course Taylor can but she probably won't because she's not releasing a single before the album drop. So whatever they choose as the single to drop with the album will go #1 and she'll have several other Top 10s

she can occupy the entire top 10 with her albums and get billions of streams on non-single album tracks, what do you think?

And if she does y'all will cry about it. :gaycat6:

No but it's solely due to her release strategy and sudden refusal post-covid to release lead singles before album releases.

It's silly imo because if she was doing a lead + album release nowadays, she'd easily be getting a guaranteed 2 #1s per era right now. this isn't 2019 anymore, no one's blocking her right now.
