and then compared her to a Sims :rip:

they know exactly what they were doing and have been recently pretty clear on which type of popstar they prefer, shame it's the ones that wash their dirtiest laundry out in the open

Nobody needs to know the details of Lipa's real life to lend her songs weight, but there should still be something in her performance, delivery, songwriting or production that sets them apart from platitudes, from background noise.

Why she attempted to make an album like a songwriter will always be peculiar with me we wanted BOPS and mid tempo songs like WE'RE GOOD

What are you talking about?
BOPS FOR DAYS ON THIS ALBUM.
BOPS FOR DAYS.

This is her best album. I knew when i heard Houdini and Training Season back to back this album would be incredible. And it is, incredible. It's not a 5/5 album for me but it is a f***ing excellent album.

The Independent — 100
Rolling Stone UK — 10
The Irish Times — 80
The Telegraph — 80
iNews — 80
DIY — 70
NME — 60
Evening Standard — 60
The Guardian — 60
The Clash — 60
Financial Times — 40
The Line of Best Fit — 30

This is such a crazy spread fjdjdjdj I was low-key expecting mainly 7-8s with a handful of 6s and 9s. 30 and 40 are insane.

what the-- the album isn't groundbreaking but 30 is a little bit TOO harsh?

DL4 better be a surprise drop at this point (that way no one's making misconceptions about the sound of the album) & it better come a lot faster, preferably this year. :cm:

@BlackoutZone now that you're active can you confirm if Pastime is real or AI cause it kinda sounds like the latter

It's actually pretty funny how so many people were ragging on her for talking about how the sound was a departure because they felt the singles were too similar to FN, when it turns out she wasn't lying at all and the style is actually very different. The singles were clearly picked as they are the obvious radio songs on the album and kinda stand out for being the most commercial. Whatcha Doing and These Walls are currently the only others that jump out as singles, but there's several songs here that deserve their moment.

Since we're already discussing DL4, can I start my Dua on a Mission delusions or is it still too early?

About to go to sleep. Listened to 3 songs and Whatcha Doing kinda stands out. I like the tropical vibe of it.
