the song does feel like theatre cosplay a la joanne

was hoping she'd continue the dance/electronic sound of ren in act ii cause there are so many other areas she could still go with the dance sound

I love Texas Hold ‘Em but have to admit I laughed at their description

I did think it sounded like the highway scene interspersed with silly moments from a car road trip movie.

Hard to take the writer seriously after looking her up.

Tbf I’m glad they panned it. Now people can stop acting like they blindly stan everything she does

that can be right and it can still be enjoyable. its her Lumineers moment. the "hey"s and "ho"s are what they started, right?

anyway Beyonce makes music with so many people its going to sound like it is. Not one clear artistic vision, but a mix of many making it appealing to a lot of people.

We asked Beyonce for a commercial song and received just that. :gaycat1:

I’m glad someone said it. It didn’t need to be autobiographical, the problem is the song simply isn’t good.

I'm confused about people saying this is for the fans. What Beyoncé fans asked for a country album?  Isn't country one of the least liked genres by black people despite them creating genre? I doubt Beyoncé is going to change that, especially with these two songs.

This track is full of personality and paying homage to her roots.

It’s full of personality, yes.

But an homage to her roots?

That's true though.

If I said that apple almost looks like an orange, I did not say that the apple is an orange.

Saying that something is close to the border doesn't mean it IS that thing.

If I said that someone's art abstract art is close to the border of being photorealistic, is it photorealistic?

Omg :skull: This is giving me flashbacks to that one hive member talking about the ST album cover and how the font color was “pink, but an off pink.”

Well that's because that was me and I am still 100% correct for that. It actually has been proven so by the graphic designer who designed it. They recently spoke out about how they went through hundreds of iterations before setting on the final cover, which was my whole point: the cover wasn't cheap, it's purposefully minimal and thus it would need to be highly considered and every detail perfected.

And I'm right in what you quoted, too.

They aren’t wrong. Didn’t really enjoy either songs but 16 Carriages is the better song.

There's no such thing as "too many" writers. Whatever amount a song needs to be complete, in the eyes of those creating the piece, is the amount that was necessary. It doesn't take away a damn thing from it.

Only complete snobs would say otherwise. There's no rule that says a song should only be considered a SONG when it's written by one person specifically. Thats asinine logic.

because her material is excellent.

You made it seem like she's gotten inundated with hateful reviews when this is one review and it's not even that bad or critical.
