Cqmerqn Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Unpopular opinion, but DSL was an incredible lead single. Huge bop! 3
glitch Posted March 31 Posted March 31 It definitely would've made sense to release this at the same time as the EP. Not sure why a 5 track EP needs a "lead" single
Danai G Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I look at Tyla and the way her team promotes her and keep her relevant and I just wish that Leigh-Anne got the same treatment from her label. I know that since her first two singles didn't make much noise but they were still not promoted well. I need them to support Leigh-Anne, send her songs on radio and do more in general. Even TAP Music is not doing a lot to promote her. Leigh-Anne has said that she's doing rehearsals for something. Hopefully a live performance for Stealing Love or a music video, which I think is unlike. But we'll see.

Capital and heart which are two of the biggest stations in the UK played them to death. 3

CallumDavies Posted March 31 Posted March 31 This is pretty good. She sounds more relaxed. But an EP before an album is a pretty bad omen
Scandalous Posted March 31 Posted March 31 yeah echoing the same sentiments…cute song, the chorus is pretty catchy but it's way too short and definitely doesn't feel like single material

khrys-ivory Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I'm trying to get into Leigh-Anne but something is missing Shes lacking something that would make her a star I started to think...maybe she needs to switch up her look? A la Rihanna when she went from pon de replay to umbrella Her music is aight...but the songs are missing something too
WERKER Posted April 1 Posted April 1 We just need to hope and trust that her label will allow her to release the EP with these results
WERKER Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I know iTunes means nothing but it's sat at 79 on UK iTunes, is freefalling with playlist support on Spotify and have any radios spun this yet? I get if they didn't send it to radio but why put it on playlists if that was the case?
tbhmatt Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) Another positive write up, this time in Euphoria. Even if the commercial success doesn't come, she can still build a fan base if the material is good enough. I hope she isn't put off by the absence of big steaming numbers and continues to push herself musically. Edited April 1 by tbhmatt

I feel like these are just paid for by her label/team, not because the song is actually that good.

Basically all of it's playlist support comes from NMF and small pop playlists that update on the daily (like teen beats that even included a Conan Grey album track so they add just about anything).

Tyla is younger than Leigh Anne and Water was a huge hit globally and in South Africa, making the label more likely to invest in her. TaP pushed Don't Say Love hard in the UK with constant radio play, and live performances and it wasn't stable in the charts. They had a well-budgeted MV for 'My Love' with huge Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr which failed to make much noise in Africa or the UK, I think unfortunately Leigh-Anne doesn't resonate with the UK GP unless she's in Little Mix, which is unfortunate. GardenPanty Posted April 1 Posted April 1 She just doesn't have star potential. The label should drop her
