Genocide means, intend to murder a people for people a people. I think, I would have heard about it in the news if a US president would have said, that he supported the genocide of a people with all its judicial implications. 1 1

Chemist Posted April 5 Posted April 5 The only policy that has been good so far (at least when it comes to fighting climate change) is the Inflation Reduction Act. The rest has been rubbish

It's okay to admit if you're not actually familiar with the content of the bill but policy experts on immigration law have universally called it the most conservative immigration bill in effectively 30 years. I'm not sure how that is something worthy of praise. Republicans demonize immigrants. Democrats are meant to be people who accept immigrants. A bill that gives the GOP everything they want on immigration seems like a betrayal, not a win.

My understanding is that the bill would allow a president to close parts of a border in special cases. It would have been a good way to regulate immigration better. Immigration has to be regulated otherwise it is not working anymore. We are living in a time in which major parts of our planet have already or are about to become uninhabitable. And what we have learned now - and we may agree or disagree with that - is that a society or a huge part of a society does only support to do the bare minimum. Some countries do more than others in this regard, but no country does enough.
