People say it sold 100k physical units in the US in pre orders. I wonder if that is entirely true.

I honestly dont care that much for her (loved Vampire, hated BIR) but the way ppl are propping her to fail this era  

This forum cries about how we have no more new stars yet everytime someone enters a new era, this forum always root for it to fail lmao. Dua, Billie and Olivia in particular have been given this weird treatment. I wanna say something about who and what particular kind of people in this forum are rooting for them to fail but thats beside the point. Some users are clearly hoping she’s in a sophomore slump era and a flash in the pan type of girl. In what world is an album that already generated a number one hit and a second top 10 a flop? It’s truly delusional. They’re acting like she has been Alessia Cara’d. They already decided she’s a flop unless she matches or surpasses SOUR. So unless she gets 4 top 10s and 2 major once in a lifetime #1s she’s over lol

 

What’s funny to me is that a good chunk of the artists this forum stans peaked commercially during their debut era and they all continued to have healthy careers…. not everyone outdoes each era commercially. Judging from the press we got so far, GUTS main selling point is her artistic growth and Olivia as a vital songwriter. I’m just not getting the “let me dominate the pop scene” comeback feeling from this rollout (think Teenage Dream, 1989, Good Girl Gone Bad, Planet Her). I’m getting more of the “i’m a grown girl and can write my songs” record vibe (Under My Skin, Hotel Paper, My December, Speak Now, etc) and it’s coming off on the successful side of them.
