'Titled Swastika'

This is what happens when companies send idols to the dance studios.. but not the CLASSROOMS!:deadbanana4:

Because that's literally what it is ?

A non-tilted Swastika is a religious symbol in many asian countries

I think such apology is better than making excuses, it would make it even worse

she should learn her lesson and pay attention to such things in the future, to be honest I don’t blame her fully, since I’m aware not everyone needs to be educated on everything (especially when those idols skip school and debut as a kids) and I’m a no specialist in Asian history too

my only concern is how the **** did she even get that thing? I mean this and that Q anon thing aren’t sold in the first shop on the street :biblio:

and please stop using those pics in the stan wars, it’s really stupid of you to spread that further just to make a statement against the group you’re not into

You knows what’s an interesting concept? Idols are in their own way kind of “nepotism” babies.

All of these rookies getting high end fashion and brand deals through the company connections and all.

Most of the girlies snatching up these high end deals are from top companies. They’re kinda like nepo babies themselves

Like do they not teach about the Holocaust in Korean school systems? Definitely learned about that in middle school world history :biblionny: I remember Sowon got her lashings years back for posing with that Nazi mannequin and suddenly Gfriend was disbanded 3 months later :gaycat7:

In all seriousness, I think this is probably an East Asia issue, because I remember similar scandals involving Japanese idols. I guess much like the west doesn't care much for the rising sun flag because that was kind of far removed from the anglosphere, EA countries doesn't care much about about the swastika because of their own suffering under Japan's imperialism. Also there's the religious symbolism part of it that probably factors on their indifference to the symbol.

She (or whoever wrote the apology) said the right thing. If it had said that she "didn't see" the symbol, that would have made things even worse.

It looks like JYP might be planning on staying silent regarding the QAnon shirt she wore the other day though, which isn't great.

"I don't know what a swastika is" has got to be the lamest apology ever

Umm how can you not know its meaning? Total BS

And what about the QAnon shirt?

The swastika existed and had a (good) meaning before Hitler hijacked it. It started as a religious symbol (Buddhism/Hinduism) and then spilled into many cultures in Asia. It doesn’t have that negative connotation to everyone

i have no idea what QAnon is exactly either
