WAIT not u actually making sense.

but they wouldnt smash poor Wendy's racisme would overshadow their global rise

I forgot about Wendy being ignorant. Though how much would that really have stopped them though? Like celebs get cancelled all the time on the internet, but still have successful careers in demographics that don't care or people don't stay up to date on that kind of stuff.

SKZ must be putting together another comeback soon if theyre still sticking to the plan that was put out at new years.

They’ll probably join the April comeback club after their tore ends

Does JYP have anything else scheduled for April? NMIXX and Twice are in March. What about SHITZY?

The release order is always like this:

TWICE -> NMIXX -> SKZ -> ITZY

so SKZ are next and are probably coming in either late April or early May.

My money is on May though since they always start to tease a month earlier, which means that we would’ve gotten a teaser by now if the comeback was in April.

There’s also a very big chance that they are releasing the comeback in Summer, since they are going to headline Lolapalooza Paris in July.

I just realized that NewJeans is so successful because they're basically a younger version of Red Velvet that's just all velvet all the time. They do a few quirky photoshoots but the music is all easy listening pop with r&b influences. This means that RV could have rivaled BP on a global stage but their quirky red side and being from an incompetent company effectively killed that for them.

It's so sad. :coffee2:

nnn i don't think you were being intentionally shady

but you do have a point

i think cookie gives RV the most which had me like

"ADOR could have left SM keep that one"

but then again its like they're their own artists

like sure red velvet could do hype boy and ditto

but it is not necessarily carbon-copies if that

makes sense.

Loving new jeans but the thesis’s about their success are a kii. They’re a young group with the powerhouse of hybe behind them…:rip: they’re also getting heavy focus on streaming and their video views show it, meaning it’s not even the girls individually that are the pull. :rip:

also they were heavily anticipated for over 3 years because of min hee-jin :rip:

I wasn't being shady, it just really hit me today that, RV could have what NJ was having, especially back in '18 but SM screwed it up.

Interesting that the concert theme is playing on Red vs. Velvet...

I wonder if we'll finally get the long overdue Velvet concept with their upcoming comeback

Now you know  this is a lie because the anticipation was basically non existent :rip:

Everybody was waiting for “JYP new gg” (Nmixx) and “YG new gg” (Baemon- still haven’t debuted kii)

heck even Lesserafim and IVE had more hype.
who was talking about “ADOR new gg”?
it’s just the word of mouth after their initial unique rollout that got them noticed, and then the HYBE machine kicked in after that.

oh ffs a lot of people were anticipating newjeans, people even knew they were called newjeans months before they even debuted because of copyrights. just because they weren't as anticipated as big 3 groups and post-iz*one groups (which every kpop stan anticipates whether they want to admit or not) doesn't mean they weren't anticipated :rip:

I wonder who will be their designated english speaker. Chae & Jihyo?

Oh wow this is their first ever in-person interview in US television.

I think Chae will definitely be one, and maybe Nayeon? I don’t think Jihyo is that confident in English and Mina could but she is too reserved lol.
Also please don’t let Tzuyu talk, love her but girlie sounds very timid and like she’s about to cry :gaycat6:

i think Dahyun will try to be extra, she’ll be the Jin of the group, hope it won’t be cringe :rip:

yeah lmao i dont understand the revisionist history here. Ever since they dropped the graphic of the bunny with the announcement of the nugu it was instantly "The girl group from the BTS company." :rip:

Idk where was this anticipation because I definitely didn’t see it because they debuted so suddenly. But whatever I guess.

they weren’t as anticipated but there were plenty of kpop fans (including several in this thread) who were hyped about MHJ making her own group even before the rollout started. kinda like how BEP starting their own group was a big deal to people in the know - some of these creatives and production teams have followings just like western ones like Max Martin/Jack Antonoff/etc do.

From their US tour, Dahyun should honestly do the most talking, she has the best english imo.

Poor Nayeon and Mina both sound like they've gotten worse. :deadbanana2:

like you could probably dig up the 2021/2 ktrl threads (or whatever of them wasn’t purged) and search for ador new gg and get stuff from before newjeans officially started teasing anything

Posted

plus before newjeans were under ador they were going to debut under bighit so of course they were anticipated :rip: like bffr

Posted

It’s inch arresting that Twice has nobody fluent in English.

It seems like every big group these days has at least one person fluent enough to communicate on behalf of the group.

Oh I mean I get that, but isn’t that the same for every group from a big company (or individuals like MHJ or BEP)? And of course core kpop fans might have anticipated them I guess (maybe I was wrong in that sense), but would a casual fan who comprises much of their audience really have waited for a MHJ group like that?

again I’m not denying the HYBE backing obviously, but the “highly anticipated” kinda threw me off.
