I'd say this applies to most kpop groups, hybe just happens to start the trends now... in the past it happened with all of the big3 too, they find a toy and they milk it till its dry(see the retro sound and y2k trends)

Mingyu gives me major incel vibes idk why but he was caught with like weird disturbing collages of mutilated women or something. Still he looks so good, just a weirdo I'd stay away form

 

 

XG hasn't been super active much but I'm glad they're going around the world building their fanbase and getting their name out there.

Tbf, the retro sound that was very popular during the pandemic, was not just a Kpop thing though, but a whole pop culture thing which was started by Dua Lipa and The Weeknd. Everyone and their mothers were doing retro back then

I hate to do a Mingyu defense post right after attempting Mingyu Marketing to promo Dino's solo because it's making me look like I like I bias him, but this is very misconstrued I've seen so many posts explaining this yet people still insist on claiming his collage was something else. The collage was about the entertainment industry (his experiences) and was part of a 2 frame piece. It includes chopped up photos of magazine models both male and female (NO photos of mutilated bodies were used wtf is that claim?), brands, etc. Left is the surface of the industry and right is the darker part, which is why we have the switch from gold splatter to red splatter and darker imagery

 

Mingyu even includes a photo of himself modelling too in this collage, which makes sense since this is literally about the entertainment/modelling industry he is part of. Like the other models, you can see him altering the body. In this case he covered up the eyes. Is he also try to make some weird sexualized image of himself?

 

He has done multiple collages with this theming, including this one. Notice the photo of the shirtless male model also having part of his head removed and that Mingyu once again includes himself. Mingyu probably has his issues, as does the majority of idols, but these collages are not one of them. Even his collages that aren't on this topic chop up photos in a similar way, including himself and the other svt members

 

I just find it funny how people always want idols to express themselves more or be more honest about the industry. The moment one of them does make something reflective of the industry, you brand them as an incel and make accusations because it's not pretty or sanitized enough for your taste? His piece is open to criticism since he made them public and obviously wanted people to see them, but criticize it for what it is and not whatever weird **** some people who had never seen it say it is. If you want to say he did a bad job communicating his message and the pieces are unclear or too disturbing, that's fair, but don't claim he made some weird f*tish piece for mutilated women
