Kakao now plotting to use some of the $930M investment they just got from Saudi Arabia (and Singapore) last month to outbid HYBE in the tender offer for the 25% shares...

I mean this is a total mess :deadbanana4:

After catching up on everything. I do NOT want HYBE to buy LSM shares if it includes a tie in of him keeping any sort of creative control. At least we know Kakao will likely get rid of him and any of his undeserved connections (e.g. YYJ getting title track rights for any group despite majority flopping at this point)

well is better than the groups releasing some h&m music just because it charts tbh

For some reason I have faith in HYBE in the way they are managing their groups right now, so SM artists don’t have to worry in that aspect I’m sure. They better finally give EXO kings the treatment they deserve :gaycat6: I wonder if they’re gonna create a new label for the SM acts and put them all there.

Blackswan is so messy and no ones takes them seriously but even with countless line up changes they still manage to have a good chemistry and can perform really good together, somehow they always make it work :1stplace:

Also I think they are fully singing live. Your nepo baby korean kpop idols wish to sound live this good. :falcon:

wasnt there a rumor that Fatou was distancing  herself from the group and might leave soon? It’s nice to see her still performing with them tbh. Also glad to see the two dark skinned members having the best stage presence in this group, get it queens :clap3:too bad korea is colorist so they’ll never happen in that country.

Also with the Kakao vs HYBE I’m scared that IVE might get tangled in this mess and their potential ruined :rip:

When the reports started to trickle out that Lee Sooman was looking to sell his shares in order to "retire" a couple years ago, the number that got reported/leaked at that time was a billion dollars.  If someone shows up with a billion dollars, Lee Sooman is laughing all the way to some south Pacific island that isn't underwater.

I dont know what their company vision is for them (as if there were any) but they should ditch Korean lyrics and focus on building an international fanbase.

I do kinda feel bad for aespa, they might not even release an album until the summer

might be their 4D moment

Nothing will happen with sm groups
if Hybe control the entire kpop, then we will have just one path for new idols, instead 3 (JYP SM YG)

Every audition show on TV is just another path...

Hybe is not going to let RV and Aespa breath if that happens :snowman:

Baby, why would they retire money makers? If they do merge, we’re just going to see an endless cycle where they push a different group a month. Why would they retire a group who just did 1.8M physical copies and another that just did 1M that they just invested millions in? It’s not logical in the slightest.

you would have thought

This has more to do with Bang Si-Hyuk being brilliant and making moves than it does with BTS. The opportunity also only exists because of the Kakao situation which has nothing to do with BTS :skull:

BTS would have had to have been way more successful than they were to give the company leverage to get into SM.

BTS truly is the worst thing to ever happen to kpop huh :deadbanana2:

Though LSM probably won't see any of that billion dollars if someone (i.e. Kakao) shows up with it.

It seems as though HYBE has secured an option to buy out the rest of LSM's stake within a year. He must be really desperate, as he's even given up some of his royalties from that dodgy Like Planning company to close the deal.

Seems like the real battle now will be...who can outsmart or overpower who...between HYBE and Kakao

Experimental for the sake of experimental is not good music though and that is SM since last year. Barely any music from that company has been good in this decade but last year in particular was horrible
