NCT 127 WAS moving in the right direction in terms of combining their noise sound with songs that are a little more GP-friendly

 

but then now we've gotten 2 Baddies and Ay-Yo, two songs that have barely any melodic hooks or catchy parts

 

and what's the concept/aesthetic of Ay-Yo? parts of the MV could've been a dance practice vid. it has no flavor at all

Well, let me just say, Kick it, Punch, Sticker are terrible and unlistenable. 2Baddies, Favorite, and A-Yo are kinda more GP friendly, specially Favorite, I agree SueperHuman was the way to go, but that song flopped way too hard, no wonder they stopped trying with good music.

No one has (yet) beaten Girls' album sales or Next Level's overall chart longevity. Even in their "flop" era they got 1.5B points in 2022.

 

The issue is not their popularity (the sold out showcases/tours in U.S., Japan and Korea show it too) but SM's horrible management. It's clear now that there are major issues behind the scenes at the company.

 

KARINA should have been pushed to solo CFs by now and aespa should have had 2 comebacks last year, plus they should have original Japanese songs by now too considering LSF, IVE, STAYC and even Kep1er etc. have all already done it. aespa has everything to remain at the top but SM is not doing what they need to do.

Tea. I've always been a stan and loved their music but these past few releases have me like WTF. It's not even subversive with its ridiculous. It's just bad.

From what I've gauged over the years, JK may be the only member who'd be able to fill out a pair of CKs, but I won't hold my breath.

So these high peaks are probably because BG fanbases have worked out how to generate enough mass hourly streaming.

 

Melon will probably reform their chart again soon. They did this last time because of zombie streaming and they switched to 24Hits which was a horrible chart.

 

They will probably react since Melon is losing popularity to YouTube quite a lot these days and Kakao will want to keep their chart relevant.

I don't why they tried going the Twice route when it is obvious Karina and Winter have potential to be very big in the CF market. 

 

Regarding their material, or lack of it... It shows the concept and lore it's kinda expensive and requires too many organization and preparation, SM wasn't ready for such a big project, working on the lore, the visuals, the songs that connect the story, etc, just way too much and now that it is taking so long it is becoming kinda boring and stale. At this point we should have gotten at least another SMCU episode but we got nothing.
