The fun part of the Easter eggs situation was that it was analyzed and digested after full albums, music videos.

 

Nowadays, she is just leaving clues for the sake of creating easter eggs before we get any musical/visual material, it's not as fun as this unless you are a diehard crazy fan - which I am not, I am just here for the art not all this extra try hard TikTok stuff.

Or you can not preorder anything and just wait until you hear the music to decide if you want to buy the record or not.

I’m sorry but I DON’T need a lead single from Taylor. This girl has given us WANGEBT, Shake It Off, LWYMMD, and ME! as lead singles and very rarely did they indicate much of anything about the albums themes or sounds. Some were hits and some were misses, but at the end of the day listening to the album in full is all that matters to me.

I’m just always so excited for anything new from Taylor. When the album was first announced I immediately got excited for a single. I’m just impatient but I know the wait will be worth it (obviously).

Then that’s the risk you either take or don’t take, it has nothing to do with a lead single. Shake It Off would hardly make me interested in what 1989 could potentially be and yet I still bought the different album variants so I could have all the different Polaroids. Actually, OOTW and WTNY were also prerelease singles and I hated both of those too. Ended up enjoying the album but I took the plunge of buying variants even though I didn’t like the sound of what I’d heard thus far. At least with Midnights not hearing anything I can pretend the variants are worth it and talk myself into them if I want.
