Then she experimented with Red TV by announcing it months in advance (with no intention of doing anything until release week), & saw those huge pre-order numbers. So with Midnights she realised she should focus on scam pre-order tactics like clocks & "limited" run covers. Aaaaaaahh i hate this business woman. Illicit Affairs is one of the best songs in her career, imagine skipping it , and why are people putting words in her mouth about Hoax, she never said that she doesn't understand Hoax, she said that it's about different people and different experiences and that it embodied all of folklore's themes ( Nature, introspection, suicide...)
