Britney Spears Could Score A Hit In 2022, Meanwhile Xtina & Avril Couldn’t. Why?

Don't the fans get frustrated Avril hasn't changed her sound in 20 years? She's going to be 40 in a year or two, yet her new music sounds like it's coming from someone half her age!

Yes, Head Above Water in particular sounds exactly like the rest of her discography :lmao:

Avril has the most diverse discography out the 3 honey

Rock, pop, pop-punk, grunge, country, EDM, Christian, Christmas, trap, rap, hip-hop, folk, R&B, Motown, etc

All excuses.

Everything Demi released after her breakdown flopped. Even Anyone failed to do anything despite being performed at the Grammys.

Femme Fatale was a #1 Platinum album with 3 top 10 hits. It was a bigger success than anything Xtina has done since Back To Basics in 2016 and is eligible for 2x Platinum.

Britney Jean and Glory both still had Top 20 platinum hits. Britney still has a fanbase and interest. Hold Me Closer proves that with the right song, Britney can still be successful in 2022 and the streaming era. Xtina couldn't even make it in the digital era on her own. She hasn't had a successful song off her own album since Keeps Getting Better in 2008 and even that free fell hard after week 1.

Where’s the excuse? So you’re saying that if Hold Me Closer came out 6 years after Cold Heart And wasn’t released to pop radio on an indie label it would be a hit? :lmao:

We all know FF’s success is shaky. Three Top 10s....and it didn’t even scan Platinum? :rip: And Christina’s Burlesque soundtrack has actually come close to scanning almost as much as FF, and that’s without any singles

And like I just said, Glory came out in the digital era. That’s why by the time, the streaming era came along, her fans were shocked when MoodRing didn’t chart on The Hot 100 despite it doing well on iTunes because they didn’t realize how much the charts had changed after 2018

Britney hasn’t proven she can hold her own in the streaming era yet. Again, any “success” the song has seen so far owes a lot to the momentum of Cold Heart and it would be delusional to deny that.

Uneven comparison here. Glory singles came out in the last year of the digital era, not to mention Make Me had a radio deal

By the time, Liberation came out, digital sales were dead, which is why Fall In Line went to #101, despite going to #1 on iTunes. It had no radio deal either. Not to mention the song leaked like 2 months early

Youre trying to hard but failing.  I love Christina but im sure she could have snatched a radio deal is it Britneys fault her team tried?

Stupid Love leaked 2 months early too thats not an excuse.

Perfume and Say Something were released on the same day. Perfume did better on iTunes on it’s first week and still ended up flopping while SS ended up smashing.

Living in 2013 is the new thing.

Not really when Bad Bunny, Karol G, and Shakira are charting on the Hot 100 with Spanish songs. Those are actual hits.

Bad Bunny and Karol G are obviously way younger and outliers.

If you look at the Latin Songs chart, most of them never chart on The Hot 100

And even Shakira didn’t chart with her Spanish song at first. She only charted after her boyfriend cheated on her :rip:

Shakira even has an English single out right now on pop radio and the pop airplay is actually fairly good, Too 20 on Pop radio....and it still hasn’t charted on The Hot 100 or even bubbled under :deadbanana4:

The only one failing is you with these uneven comparisons :rip: We all know if Christina got a radio deal and had a hit and Britney didn’t have a radio deal and flopped, the Britney fans would be whining for years, just like they still whine about her having radio issues from years ago  :rip:

Stupid Love was coming right off the momentum of Shallow, not the same thing at all :rip:

No solo songs from Glory charted. Britney hasn’t had a solo hit in ages.

Xtina has had any hit in ages (solo or feat) :cm:

No your saying Fall in Line wasn't  a hit because it didn't have a radio deal (fine) many songs don't have radio deals and still end up smashing on radio.  Some with a radio deal can still flop. A radio deal doesn't mean its gonna be a hit.

Radio deals/strong radio pushes are necessary for older artists though. Otherwise, radio won’t even touch the song.

A radio deal is literally only for the first day. Madonna had one for GMAYL and then radio dropped it fast after the first day. It does not help beyond the first day/week.

Well then explain the new album. How do the fans explain her regressing back to her "Sk8er Boi" debut sound and lyrics despite having (apparently) explored more mature genres and being almost 40 years old?

And that radio deal helped Madonna get her last Top 10.

Living For Love and Medellin didn’t have radio deals and pop radio didn’t even bother touching those songs

Not really. It was the Superbowl, the Nicki ft, and the strong digital sales that pushed it into the Top 10.

Your Body had a radio deal:

CHRISTINA AGUILERA – Your Body: 10.948 (first day update)

The song ended up doing absolutely nothing and did worse than Work *****, Make Me, etc. Radio deals don't mean anything.
