ClashAndBurn Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Pretty obvious he’s pitching a run for president. In 2024 or 2028. I think he’s probably the only Dem that beats Kamala in a primary. As a black conservative cop, he just checks all the boxes that suburbanites want out of their Democrats these days.
Vermillion Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 @ClashAndBurn Do you think LaSalle's going to get in? Do you think Eric Adams survives a 2024/28 primary? His track record in NYC is abysmal. Even on issues that would appeal to centrists.

Re: LaSalle, I think Hochul keeps pushing him until the Senate caves and he makes it through with a coalition of moderate Dems and Republicans (who are both gleefully watching this direct rebuke of the left) Re: Adams, I think he can. Normie Dems seem to have flocked to whomever is most objectionable to the left in the last two primaries, and I don't see that changing. Correlation not being causation, of course, as in I don't think they intend to necessarily stick it to the left, but conservatives and corporatists are whom they seem to be most enthusiastic about supporting. And Adams is certainly both. Him being a Fund The Police, Defund Everything Else cop while the narrative is that Dems need to be more serious on crime is, imo, what would clinch him the nomination. Also, I don't think his unpopularity in NYC would do anything against his national prospects. The beltway press will fall in line behind him when they look at the general election polling of Kamala Harris.
Vroom Vroom Posted January 18, 2023 Posted January 18, 2023 Kemp is in a very unique position. He’s really the only Republican that has publicly stood up to Trump and survived. He could be a great VP pick for Desantis or whoever the nontrump candidate is. Getting Georgia to turn red again is almost essential for republicans to win the presidency.

Abrams will remain a loser with her probable third consecutive loss, since GA Dems have zero competitive candidates on the bench after her. The one Democrat who I think could have ever possibly won a Governor’s race here has been dead for two years: John Lewis. Ossoff’s political career is over in three years, and Warnock will be toast too once he’s up against a non-Herschel Walker Republican.

ClashAndBurn Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Apparently her party is set to lose in October's elections. I guess it's people being mad about lockdowns or whatever?
