If that has been the goal why is it only okay when a gay man does it? Does that not just other the LGBTQ+ community even further? There's a small portion of the community who spend too much time online, who are desperate to create some kind of comparison between so-called "queer aesthetics" being used by people who aren't openly LGBTQ+, to cultural appropriation in a way that is analogous to white people exploiting other cultures for aesthetic or commercial reasons.
