t's good! I was able to go far back on 3/4 of my family lines. The other one I need to wait for another census to be uploaded. I found a relative who was a soldier in the Civil War, I also have documented Native ancestors, to find out that tribe got ****** over by the government allegedly because of their mixed marriages with Black people.

The way if this were the 1900s or the 2000s, you would've been out here screaming "I got Indian in my blood", "I'm half Indian". "Look at my curl, see!" :dies:  That's very interesting though. Who's the famous person?

I'm not too moved by it, my paternal lineage was enslaved by Native people. I'm not repping that :rip: The maternal side was a mutual union.

Michelle Obama.[/spoiler]

Everything is too structured when it comes to makeup, there's too much going on. I'm also not a fan of wigs that don't match our natural hair texture (when straightened). At least in the 2000s the weaves, wigs and extensions were made with Yaki hair so it actually looked like ours.

As far as men go the lack of diversity in looks is kinda lame too, everyone is getting locs or a fade; somethings gotta give lmao.

Mess :rip:

Spoiler

Oh nice, that’s really cool!

The lace front wig trend is atrocious. Social media makes things that celebrities have more accesible, therefore people saw these celebrities wearing these expensive lace front wigs at events that was installed by professional hairstylists and thought they could do the same thing :rip: It’s unflattering in my opinion. The tracks with the Yaki is so much better and it looks so natural.

I know right about the locs. Short locs the size of tic tacs everywhere because so many of us want to grow them :dies: I had a fade but I’m currently growing my hair back out. I’m kicking it back to this style but with a mid-fade to keep it modern tumblr_o7riudJJJ71qcnjbko4_1280.png

So classic

I'm siding eyeing the Dance Revival thread in Celebria.. Beyoncé and Drake were named as artists in the original article title.. yet on here they get erased by 2 white women when talking about a historically black genre :deadbanana4:

What is the census on Caesar?  Honestly after the Abuse threats on his daughter he needs capital punishment.  Now he’s beating dogs with chairs…. Pups at that.

I need my black people to stop being so loyal to a religion that was literally forced unto our ancestors, it's time to walk away, time to STAND UP!

I think it's time we have a conversation about the effects of mental slavery aka certain religions on our community.

The fact nobody did **** the way he beat his daughter while she was in the shower but going up for dogs is bothersome but nothing new.

I'm more or less irreligious at this point but it's kind of ironic that Black people refuse to look into what their ancestors were actually practicing... they think ATRs (African Traditional Religions) are devil work.

Exactly!! you better speak on it!

All because of eurocentric ideologies which were pushed unto us.

!!!!!

It's done little for the diaspora worldwide. Black people are arguably one of the most religious demographics yet look at how the world treats us 5I5s8.png

Why isn't God making things better for us?

I left religion three years ago and my life has been much better without it tbh.

Bruh I'm about to apply for my Master's in Business because this job hunting mess ain't for me.

It's only been a month since graduation but still. The "not enough experience" excuse is tired. Why do I need more experience than my internship for an entry-level job? Corporate is ridiculous. I'm about to call my connection to Yale, try to get in there, do some more internships with my time there, and then finish my MBA. Then I can come back with these corporations swinging at them. I'll be 26 when I finish my Master's if I do it.

Cleaning through my emails and found the email where I was given the opportunity to be an intern with Senator Tom Scott during Trump’s presidency. They really wanted me to tap dance. The way I left my Uncle (Tom) on read after he sent me that mess

I forgot to respond omg. :rip:

After my Bachelors I was applying to mad companies + my positions in my own my last semester and during the summer – no luck. Until I talked to some old professors and some HR recruiters they told me primarily business majors needa hybrid degree/certs to specialize in something or get a Masters.

Once I finished my Masters, it was more beneficial with my minor and certs. I’m not really an Indeed or Monster.com job searcher (I rather apply on the company site) but I got a lot more hits esp for better paying positions in the fields I wanted.
